It's Saturday evening.
Sabrina woke up and found her bestie on her dressing seat, probably making up.
"And what's today's occasion?" She asked.
Jessie turned to her, bewildered.
"Are you for real. Brie don't tell me you've forgotten what today is."
Is there anything special about today?" She asked with a raised brow and confused expression.
"Then there is something wrong with you little brain." Jessie yelled.
"Tell me what the hell today is, and stop shouting so my neighbours can rest." Sabrina said tiredly.
She stood up from her bed, yawning.
"But....The fuck!! For you to have forgotten that today is Jackie's damn birthday." Yelled Jessie, even louder than she was before.
Sabrina placed her right palm on her forehead and nodded her head.
"Oh! That's true! But you shouldn't have yelled like that, I'm starting to have head ache. I'm sure my neighbor would hear your voice through the sound proof wall."
"If that's true that your neighbours can hear me, then your neighbours must have been an alien." Jessie said finishing her last touch of her makeup.
"I don't feel like going, babe. Tryna under.....
She hasn't finished her word when the other lady cut her off with a glare.
"Don't try to give me that shitty excuse. We are going together. And that's final." Jessi said and faced what she was doing.
"What's the time it's starting anyways?" She asked holding her waist with her two hands.
"22:00. so let's get ready."
"And this is 9pm. When are we getting there, and we're still here."
"And so what?"
"What I mean is that, you should go by yourself. And I haven't even dress up." Sabrina spoke out of frustration.
"Nope darling. We going to get there even if it's 12. The party is still on till tomorrow. So fear not, darling. We're not going to be late." Jessi threw her a kiss.
'Who care if they are late.' She screamed in her head but forced a smile.
She rolled her eyes and sighed in frustration.
She entered the bathroom.
...
12 am.
Chestnut hill,
Philadelphia.
Sabrina parked her car in the garage.
They spent almost 1hr and half to Philadelphia, with many potholes on the road.
Jessi was the first to get out of the car.
She was dressed in a blue chiffon dress, a short gown covered with diamonds and Swarovski crystals. She was wearing diamond earrings, and her hair was parked in ponytail. She elegantly walked to the entrance with her silver heel.
Sabrina got out of the car wearing a red velvet suit, with a black diamond heels. She left hair sticking at her back.
She followed Jessi into the compound.
"I can see Jackie's parent are rich." She said as she caught up to Jessi who was walking fast to into the glamorous mansion.
"Of course they are. Even the blind would know they are. But what I am not sure of is why they chose to reside here of all places in the state. But not to lie though, this house is hot..."
Sabrina interrupted her with her laughter.
"Girl, what the hell! Hot? How could house be hot? Your choice of words is... somehow..." Sabrina said trying to find a perfect word to qualify her next word.
"Horrible....you mean?" Jessie interrupted as they walked into house, but not without showing their invitation card to the guard in suit, standing at the entrance door.
"Horrible?" She asked trying to see if it fits. "No...No...Not horrible. Should I say it's ugly and unwell mannered." She concluded trying to stifle her laughter as if she knew her friend's next reaction.
And as she has thought, her best friend reacted after a minute she has taken the words in.
"Ugly? Unwell? Mannered?"
"Shit! Why would you separate the two words?"
"Being horrible is better than being ugly."
"Oh! Is my best friend wise or stupid?" She said as they passed a waiter.
Brie, what the hell are you doing to me?" Jessi half yelled.
"Jessi, you have to remember that we are in a party, not in a club." She said. They met a waiter who directed them to the garden where the party was being held.
"Oh my goodness! Is this not the hot actress in Jessi?" A lady's voice said.
"You don't tell me I have to bring my bodyguard along with me.' Jessie said in a low voice that only Sabrina could hear.
"It's not like here is swarmed with fans. Remember the location of her birthday is not disclosed to people. So the fans you are seeing right now should be a close friend to the celebrant." Sabrina scoffed.
"Oh right! I got scared for nothing." She said as they walked towards the other guests.
"Oh my! Jessica, it's nice seeing you here." A blonde girl in a magenta skimpy gown said to her, holding a glass of wine.
A waiter passed them by with a tray contain four glasses of wine. Both Sabrina and Jessie picked a glass each.
"Nice meeting you here too Hailey. Never thought you'll come." Jessi said with a smile.
"You never thought I'd come? Who's the best friend of the celebrant here, if not me. So who are you to say that to me?" Hailey scoffed sipping a wine from the glass she was holding.
"Brie. Let's go and have our seats." Jessica, first time in her life, retreated without causing fight.
They began walking until Hailey called suddenly:
"Sabrina Carpenter?"
They stopped and both turned to her.
"You saying something, Hailey Baldwin?" She smirked.
"Hailey Baldwin? Are you nut? You and I know that's not my name."
"Then sorry Miss Blonde can you remind me what your surname is, because I've forgotten just like you forgot my name." Sabrina said forgetting she's also a blonde.
"Sabrina Darlington." Hailey yelled in anger.
"Oh sorry. Who reminds you miss Hailey Bieber" Sabrina smirked and left the fuming Hailey with Jessie who has a satisfying smile on her lips as they both greeted the other guests.
"I've forgotten how savage my baby could be. That's you my sweetheart. Thought you've forgotten Hailey Barnabas real surname." Jessi smirked.
"I never faked it though. So her surname is Barnabas." She said as they sat.
"Wow. You infuriated her badly." Jessi said as she looked back and saw the angry Hailey gulping a bottle of wine. "You aren't a star, but you manage to get people to hate you. What if you become a star?"
"Then I will never become a star." Sabrina said.
Different kind of music was played and people danced except Jessi and Sabrina.
"Oh my Jessi. You came?" Someone said and Jessi smiled, hugging the brunette.
"Oh my! Happy birthday girl." Jessi said and sat down.
Sabrina scanned Sylvester Jacqueline she's meeting for the first time after ten years, from her head to toe;
Jacqueline is slim and tall. White and curvy. She's pretty and possess what guys want in a girl. Her Pink long gown with no arm was as dazzling as ever, and despite the long gown, her knees were showing because the gown was parted.
"I'm so happy you came." She said in all smile before she shifted her eyes to someone beside Jessi. "But...with her?" She asked pointing at Sabrina, with her expression changing a little.
"Yes,ith her of course. Is there anybody other than her that I could bring to a party. Hope there is no problem?" Jessi said with an innocent smile.
"No. At all. I'm just worried, there is someone who..." She trailed off.
"Who?" Sabrina heart dropped as she asked.
"Nothing. Never mind. Enjoy the party." She said to them and left, hurriedly.
"What is wrong with her?" Jessi asked.
"That... I don't know." Sabrina said, but she was nervous. Although she didn't know the reason.
The host called the birthday girl to cut the cake and she danced.
"There is an important guest here on his way. Immediately he arrives I'll let you know." The host said and people clapped.
"I want to make use of the restroom." Sabrina said to Jessi and she nodded her head.
She was looking for the restroom but she didn't know where it was, so she began walking through the house. She was walking without looking and bumped into someone.
"I'm so sorry." She said to the person as she lifted her head to see the person. She was met with shock.
"Make sure you check where you are going before walking." The guy said and began walking.
That was the guy....
Nathan Gomez....
The guy she had waited for, the past a decade. She'd loved him and waited..
She's never going to let this guy escape anymore.
"Nathan?" She called and the guy stopped not turning to her. "Nathan where have you been? I have waited for you. I'm so happy to finally see you after how many years." She said hugging him from the back.
Nathan freed himself from her, pushing her away.
"Sorry. But I don't like stranger touching me." He said cleaning his hand with a tissue.
"St.stranger? Its me. Nathan. It's me."
"Sorry. But who are you?" He asked.
She thought because it's dark so he can't recognize her.
"How could you say you don't know me. I'm Sabrina Darlington. Do you remember now?"
"Sorry. I don't know who you are. I have no idea who Sabrina is. The only Sabrina that I knew of....." He said.
Sabrina had hope that he wanted to talk about her.
".... was dead in a car accident of ten years ago. And she is not Darlington, but Sabrina Thomas." He said and turned to leave.
Sabrina's heart dropped.
"Baby. Where have you been? We've been waiting for you." Someone said and hugged him as they both left.
Sabrina looked at them and felt pain in her heart. So the boyfriend Jacqueline was talking about was...
She didn't know when tears began to fall.
