Horyu, upon seeing the mission, couldn't help but express his surprise, albeit internally. "Shisui's taking drastic measures," he mused to himself, his voice barely a whisper. "A blood test... It's harsh, but not unexpected in a Shinobi's life." He reflected on Naruto's first mission outside Konoha and the perils they had faced. In this world, mercy was indeed a luxury, a fact Horyu was well aware of. His experience in dungeons, fighting and killing numerous "students", had hardened him to this reality.

However, his thoughts quickly turned to Hinata. Her kindness and gentle nature were strengths, but in this brutal test, they could prove to be her downfall. 'I'll need to prepare her mentally for this,' he thought.

He glanced at the Badge of Team Captain he had just received, analyzing its effects.

[Badge of Team Captain

'This will be useful,' he concluded, satisfied with the item's capabilities. Joining his team and Kurenai-sensei, they made their way to Yakiniku Q, a popular spot among Shinobi for unwinding and socializing.

Upon their arrival at Yakiniku Q, Horyu, Hinata, and Shino were met with a bustling scene. The air was filled with the aroma of grilled meat and the sounds of lively conversation. As they settled at a table, Horyu's eyes scanned the room. He noticed Asuma's Team 10 in the corner, engrossed in a discussion with Team 10.

Then, to his absolute shock, he saw Team 7, led by none other than Uchiha Itachi, the new head of the Uchiha Clan after Fugaku's demise in his battle against Minato and Kushina. Itachi, renowned for his prowess and intellect, was a figure of both admiration and fear in the Uchiha clan. Horyu's eyes narrowed slightly as he observed Itachi's composed demeanor, the way he interacted with Sasuke, Sakura, and Kiba.

Hinata leaned in, whispering, "Isn't that Uchiha Itachi with Team 7? I thought he was too busy with clan matters."

Horyu, maintaining his usual calm, responded, "It seems he's taking a more active role in the village. Interesting development." His mind was already churning with the implications of Itachi's presence.

Shino adjusted his glasses, adding, "Itachi-san's involvement in Team 7 could significantly shift the dynamics within the Uchiha clan and the village."

Kurenai led Team 8 towards the table, settling next to Asuma. Across from them, Uchiha Itachi sat with a composed air, his presence commanding a certain respect. The atmosphere was already bustling with the mingling of Team 7 and 10, but as Horyu and his team made their entrance, a hush fell over the Genin, especially Sasuke, whose disdain for Horyu was palpable.

Horyu, acutely aware of the tension, scanned the room with a calm, calculating gaze. Sasuke's glare towards Horyu was palpable. Ever since Horyu had outperformed him in multiple contests, claiming the title of Genin of the year, the disdain from Sasuke had only intensified. Sakura, still smitten with Sasuke, followed suit, her dislike for Horyu evident in her scowl. She believed disparaging Horyu would endear her to Sasuke.

Kiba, nursing a bruised ego from his defeat at Horyu's hands, wore a look of contempt. His previous taunts towards Horyu had backfired, leaving him resentful.

Ino, sitting at the table, offered a smile to Hinata and a curious glance to Horyu. Her interest in the latter was clear; Horyu's rise in the academy had not gone unnoticed by her.

Shikamaru and Choji, too, harbored a grudge against Horyu. Shikamaru's plans for avenging Choji's heavy defeat had been thwarted, leading to his own embarrassing loss.

Kurenai, sensing the undercurrents of tension, initiated the conversation. "It's great to see everyone coming together. Remember, despite our individual paths, we are all part of Konoha."

Asuma nodded in agreement. "Indeed, Kurenai. It's about learning to work together, despite our differences."

Itachi's gaze lingered on Horyu, his expression one of intrigue rather than the usual indifference he showed towards others. The name 'Horyu Uchiha' had only recently come to his attention. That was to be expected. After all, the previous Horyu died alone in his home, due to common cold. Something so trivial, so simple. Until Sasuke's defeat, Horyu had been just another face in the clan, unremarkable and overlooked. But now, he commanded Itachi's interest.

Sasuke had described Horyu as a nobody, a talentless Uchiha who suddenly rose to prominence. Itachi, unlike Sasuke, didn't view this as a threat but as a potentially beneficial development for the clan. However, the suddenness of Horyu's rise piqued his curiosity.

Itachi, observing Horyu from across the room, pondered the enigma that was this young Uchiha. Sasuke and others had painted Horyu as a late bloomer, a talentless Uchiha who had suddenly surged in skill and prowess. Itachi, always one to delve deeper, sensed there was more to Horyu's story. He speculated that Horyu might have awakened his Sharingan but chose to conceal it. Such secrecy was not unfamiliar to Itachi; he too had hidden his Mangekyo Sharingan from his clan for years.

"Horyu Uchiha," Itachi mused quietly to himself, "a mystery within our clan. His rise is unusual, almost akin to a dormant power suddenly unleashed. What secrets are you hiding, young Uchiha?"

Across the table, Horyu remained stoic, his sharp gaze occasionally meeting Itachi's. He was well aware of the scrutiny he was under. His journey had taught him the value of discretion, especially regarding his unique abilities and the System that guided him.

Sasuke, sitting stiffly, kept stealing glances at Horyu, his disdain barely veiled. "Big Brother, don't waste your time on him. He's nothing special," Sasuke muttered under his breath, his voice tinged with jealousy.

Itachi turned his attention to Sasuke, his tone measured. "Every member of our clan is worth understanding, Sasuke. Sudden changes in skill are not to be overlooked. They can be indicative of hidden potential, or something more."

Sasuke's scowl deepened, but he held his tongue, knowing better than to argue with Itachi.

Itachi turned to address Horyu directly, his tone carrying a note of genuine respect. "I am glad with your achievements, Horyu. Uchiha pride shines with you."

Horyu offered a small, measured smile in response. "Thank you, Itachi-sama. I am honored to receive such high evaluation from you." His words were respectful, yet there was an underlying firmness in his tone, reflecting his self-assured nature.

Itachi returned the smile, a rare occurrence for the stoic Uchiha. He appreciated politeness, especially when coupled with strength. His gaze briefly shifted to Sasuke, noticing the stark contrast in demeanor between the two. While he loved his brother deeply, Itachi couldn't help but make comparisons.
