"What?" Jake who started thinking about his dream had started getting worried again.
"It's alright son, the doctor said you were just exhausted and needed sleep.
He gave me some medication for when you would wake up, since it's the weekend as well, so rest some more alright?
Mommy will make some soup for you, I know you'll be hungry. Okay?" Elizabeth spoke to her son calming him down again.
"Okay mum," Jake said as he smiled at her.
"I love you, my boy." Elizabeth squeezed his cheeks as she spoke to him.
"I love you too" Jake spoke to his mother.
"Also take care of Iris she couldn't rest the whole time you've been sleeping." Elizabeth spoke to Jake before leaving the room.
When Jake looked at his sister who had been in his arms the whole time he noticed she was sleeping peacefully.
Jake smiled as he held her tighter before proclaiming in his mind 'I swear I won't let anything happen to any one of you.'
It's been a week since Jake woke up from that hellish nightmare, although sometimes he would still occasionally think of what the voice had told him.
Jake's parents noticed that he had been much closer to his sisters and themselves but understood his worries from what Aria had told them about Jake's nightmare.
Jake was currently sitting on the terrace of his home with his big sister, he seldom left home besides school and preferred being as close to his family as possible.
'The stars are bright today, Iris would have loved to see it' Jake thought as Iris had gone to bed early, her energy reserves much lower than her elder siblings.
As Jake gazed upon the sky he once again delved into his thoughts 'The voice, Destiny? Freewill? Mom and Dad would think I'm crazy if I told them everything.
But still, where's the cube? I know I fell asleep with it but it wasn't with me. I asked the girls and Mom but they said it wasn't there. Where is it?'
(...here)
"What did you say Aria" Jake turned his head and saw his big sister fast asleep on his shoulder.
'Hmmmph weird. I swore I heard something.'
(...I'm here Jake)
"What!" Jake startled by a voice looked around him and saw nothing.
(...Jake look up)
"Hello! Who are you? What do you want?" Jake loudly spoke, spooked by the voice which seemed to come from all around him.
(Jake don't be startled, I'm not your enemy)
"What do you want" Jake tensed up but not as spooked as before.
(Your dreams, the voice you spoke to, it was real. I'm not your enemy so calm down and I'll explain everything.)
The voice of a young woman, now much clearer spoke to Jake as he tried his best to not run back down with his sister who was still calmly sleeping.
"Alright, I'll listen to what you have to say." Jake spoke not knowing where to look.
(Thank you. Now Jake, I am what you would call an Atlas, a navigation device of sorts and you are my owner.)
'An Atlas, what, Owner?, But where is she?' Jake thought in his mind.
(The cube that your father gave you, was a seal to protect and keep me hidden from those deemed unfit to find out my identity, And as for where I am.
I'm currently residing in your brain.)
'Wait a second, you're in my head. Y-You can hear my thoughts right.' Jake spoke in his mind.
(That is correct Jake, since I'm synced with your brain, all thoughts, emotions and actions are visible to me.)
'This is crazy but you said you're not my enemy so why are you in my head'
(You have been deemed worthy of holding an Atlas, and have been selected as an Aeon Ascendant.)
'Who selected me and what's an Aeon Ascendant?' Jake was puzzled at this revelation and wondered what was special about an 8-year-old normal boy.
He didn't have any powers, he wasn't super smart like his sister nor was he an Alien, Maybe?
(The voice that you spoke to in your dream. It is my creator and the one who commanded me to become your Atlas, your guide so to speak. It is called The ChronoScribe.)
'The ChronoScribe?'
(Yes, the ChronoScribe is an object created by the First Civilization to rule the Galaxy Billions of years ago.
The First Civilization is almost as old as the Universe itself although they too like any other Civilization, have gone extinct.
Though not before dying out, the First Civilization created the ChronoScribe an object of immeasurable power to record everything that had taken place in the Universe.
Its purpose is to record and keep every piece of information that has taken place and is currently taking place to help any future civilizations that would have unanswerable questions.)
'So like a library of sorts'
(Correct, that was its original goal, however, the First Civilization had not realized the power they had given the Device and with its intellect, it soon became more sentient and life-like.
It started seeing through the future, recording that as well, and being alive for billions of years with no sentient life anywhere else it became reclusive and when the first life started appearing it instead hid itself and decided to carefully watch and record everything that happened in the Universe not following its orders of helping other life deeming them unworthy of its knowledge and power.)
