Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

ALLISHA'S POV

"Come on now! Wake up already!" My mom dragged on my door the next morning.

" Yes Mom," I stood up and walked out half-awake.

Pans were already clattering in the kitchen. My heart skipped in joy to see my father already preparing breakfast.

"Sure time passes by so fast. Hm!" I whispered to myself as I enjoyed the scent of the soap scribbling through my body when I went straight to take a bath since Dad had already taken over the kitchen.

"Hey, come on! Faster! I need to use the bathroom," Juz shouted which startled me.

"Ouch!" I growled in pain as I blindly looked for the deeper because some shampoo entered my eyes when I got startled.

I hurried up and stormed out of the bathroom since I had no choice but to comply rather than be beaten up by my oldest and dearest brother when he got annoyed.

"I wish I had my own bathroom!" I annoyingly wished as I put on my uniform.

As I finished preparing my things for school, I had my breakfast and stormed out of the house excitedly.

"Mom, I'm...whatever. They wouldn't even care."

I put on my earphones and clicked my playlist. I jumped cheerfully on each step of our stairs and walked towards our gate.

Every time, I took a step away from home, it felt like all the clots inside my veins were unclogging and I got to truly live my life happily. Every step shouted freedom. Going to school always felt like a home away from home. I silently hum through the song as I head on to the world I knew I could belong.

" Hey, Rayz! Make more friends. Open Up! Smile often," Autumn said before leaving me and happily joined her classmates when we reached the school.

I really enjoyed this feeling when morning wasn't too sunny, just a bit cloudy and windy. The air always gave this soothing effect that calmed every inch of my being.

" Tsk! Crazy. Here she comes, hold on tight, it's shaking, it's shaking!" A boy teased me from the bench near the gazebo where I usually stay to wait for our teacher to come and open the room.

A smile cracked on my face and dragged down my bag as I walked towards him.

It pissed me off when someone claims my territory.

" So this is what you want," I said as I took longer strides without letting my gaze off of him.

" Hey, what are you up to?" He said alarmingly with all the fright showing on his face.

He tried to stand but he was too late. I already grabbed him on his uniform's collar and held it in a firm grip.

" Shocked?" I asked while tightening my grip even more as he tried to let loose.

" Hey. Ha! I was just joking. Let me go!" He said still in shock while trying so hard to maintain his composure.

" Next time.." I wasn't able to finish what I was about to say when he finally broke free and started to run.

" Crazy whale. Don't try to run after me, 'cause you can't!" He teased me while laughing with all his might.

" Don't worry. I wouldn't waste a single energy anyway." I shouted back and went to fetch my bag.

It was about time anyway. The teacher came early today.

LECTURE.

LECTURE.

LECTURE.

" Miss Aregory, you can now take your spot because we are having a quiz." Miss Tui said.

" Yes, teacher," I answered as I stood up and sat on the floor nearest to the board.

I have been doing this for a year. My eyes weren't that good so I had to make a way to survive.

" After this, clean up your room, and you can all take your break and prepare for practice." Miss Tui followed up.

" Yes, Miss!" We all exclaimed sadly.

After the quiz, I packed my things and made my way to the toolbox to get a broom. I did my part in cleaning the room. I even have time to drift into my thoughts to organize my tasks while sweeping.

"I'll finish up cleaning, then eat for five minutes, I have to be in line early or I'll end up last again, then I'll have to secure a spot in the changing room to change my..." I stopped on my ramblings when someone grabbed me at the back of my uniform.

I got irritated immediately. I quickly turned around and grabbed that someone's uniform and struck a punch which gladly didn't end up hitting him because he posed his hands in surrender at once.

" Chill! You really are different." He said while smiling so weirdly. " Ed told me to try to talk to you. He said that you're unusual."

" Who's that?" I asked as I loosened up my grip.

" That Ed." As he pointed to the boy I just had an encounter this morning.

" Just leave me alone," I said as I picked up the broom and started to walk away from him.

" No. You are my friend now. I'll see you more often. I'm Fritz by the way." And he left while laughing.

I never bothered to pay attention to him when all I can notice now are the eyes of my other classmates.

" Tsk! What do I care?" I said and left the room.

I hastily ran my way to the field where we did our practice after eating and changing my clothes.

" Formation everyone!" Our coach shouted.

We practiced tirelessly under the scorching heat of the sun. Hours passed of tiring formations, unbearable shouting, breathtaking heat, and the countless sighs of tormented souls on the field.

" Why do we have to get through this?" I whispered as I helped myself to the ground after the whistle for the water break echoed.

I couldn't find Autumn from the sea of students lurking on the ground trying to find their places to rest.

" Ugh! Better spend this on the right thing. The sky is beautiful." I managed to lie on the ground and stared happily at the clouds as they played along the winds portraying a wonderful scenery up the sky.

Minutes went by, and I am drifting to sleep. Unfortunately, I was startled.

"Look! There's a rabbit shape." A familiar voice said then started laughing which made me really annoyed.

I hurriedly got up but he was faster. He grabbed my shirt and made me hit my back against the ground and back to lying down again.

" Look, what I hate the most is when someone intervenes with my sleep," I growled in irritation. My back was throbbing in pain.

I finally had the chance to look at him and tried to hit him again with a punch.

" Woah! Relax." He offered a bottle of water and smiled in surrender.

" What's this for?" I asked trying to calm myself down.

" It's more beautiful to look with it."

" To look what?"

" The sky," he briefly answered and started peeking up with the bottle.

I got curious and did it too. I found it amazing, in fact, it was fantastic

" Hey, hey, look, a heart shape." He excitedly told me while tapping on my shoulder.

"Don't touch me. I already saw it." I said.

" Liar. What else do you see?"

" Fine. You see the one on the right? It's like a horse, with a bit like of a turtle?" I said.

"What? That is crazy," he said laughing so loudly which made me laugh too.

" What? That's what I saw. That's called being creative," I said without even realizing I was already laughing even harder.

" FORMATIONS!" The coach then wailed to the top of his lungs.

" Got to go! The water is also for drinking by the way." Fritz said while standing and offered his hand to help me up.

" Thanks," I said.

" And, thank you for accepting this time." He said and waved his goodbye.

" What?" I smiled after realizing that he was the water boy last time.
