Chapter 5 - Chapter 4

1 year B.C. 5th moon

Brandon POV

Here he was out on a hunting trip with a group of 10, the warg in the party who had an eagle as a companion had spotted a herd of elk gracing in the meadow. We were closing in on them and I prepared my newly acquired weirwood bow, it turns out that while they may be rare south of the Wall here in the True North as I have learned to call it, they are quite common yet protected fierscely since they are made of sacred wood.

Here I was about to launch my kill shot right to it's heart but out of knowhere there was a frightning howl followed by many others that caused the elk to stampede out of the area.

"Direwolves!!, lets get out of here!!- yelped out the warg

A Direwolf, the living sigil of my house of birth, his first thought was to leave, but then as they closed in he spotted them, 8 wolves the size of war horses he was frozen in shock and wonder at the majestic yet powerful beasts that were in his presence.

By some sort of entrancement, he lowered his arms and slowly walked towards the wolves;

He slowly spread foward his arm and looked towards the biggest one, the leader of the pack a completly silver colored beauty.

Within reach of said wolf he confidently touched its head and with 3rd eye he became one with the Wolf

" I come in peace, friendly I offer you safety and a future for you and your pack" he offers to the Direwolf.

"Pack, Human, Strong, Pack follow to safety, Pack make human strong, Human help pack grow"- answered stoickly the wolf threw images and movements.

And so the Silver Direwolf sat on it's hind legs and looked at Brandon's face and starting slobbering him and tackled him to the ground.

Out by the woods edge sat 9 people fully awedstruck at was just happened, to the freefolk it seemed that there Magnar was a strong warg to be able to tame a Direwolf in such short time, especially an Alpha at that.

To the Northeners it seemed as if there leader had lost his mind but after some time had passed Brandon returned to the group with the Direwolf in tow.

"Everyone, welcome Storm into the pack"- he exclaims for all to know

With this new development he now knew he could succesfully warg , now knowing this he felt that he was truly inmersed with the culture of his new people.

*5 hours later*

Dusk was setting and after learning to warg Storm the hunting party became a success, with the help of Storm's pack they managed to take down 12 elks, for the great boon of the hunt they let the pack have 2 of them.

When they returned to HardHome with such a big bounty and with Direwolves at their backs they were received with shouts and blessings of the Old Gods for what had happened. After dropping off the catch to be prepared for a feast and setting up an area for the pack of Direwolves, Brandon decided to look for his Snow Bear and talk about the incident.

And so he walked to the newly built cabin made for the Magnar, and after entering he finds Brehild sitting palely on the floor while vomitting, seeing this he quickly went and brought the Village elder, an old woman with knowledge in herbs and medicine. He was worried for Brehild's health, while only knowing her for the past 5 moons he has come to respect and love her. After what felt like hours the elder gave him leave to see his wife.

"Are you well my love"- he asks worriedly

"I carry a cub within me"- she responds hapily- " I am 3 moons along it seems".

"Well we certainly did try a lot, didn't we"- he responds while laughing.

No One's POV

At the news of Brehild being with child the feast took on a whole new meaning, it simbolized a time for a new era, the people of HardHome no longer were divided by social clashes they were now one clan.

With a new found inspiration Brandon decided that it was time to explore more of the True North and so with a party of 200 this including Brehild, who would take this an opportunity to retrieve her Mammoth companion from the Mo Dong clan's herd.

The Mo Dong Clan was the biggest and most advanced of the Giant clans, they had 500 giants with most being over 12 feet tall, the Mo Dong was a nomad group who was said to be from a lineage of Giant king dating back to the age of heroes. Like most Giants, the Mo Dong clan were a peaceful people, however they are known to be the most martially advanced of the Giants, with most carrying huge bows and arrows, and some with large stone tools.

And so the party of 200 decided that they would depart HardHome, pass threw the Haunted Forest and search for the Mo Dong near the MilkWater.
