Chapter 40 - End Of Ronan

"Xandar people, you are criminals, your peace-making efforts will not work. Now, burn yourselves," he bellowed from his Dark Aster, casting a dark shadow over the embattled planet.

The destructive assault continued, and the Nova Corps faced a dire situation. In a plea for assistance, Irani Rael turned to Ben, urgently requesting his help, "Ben, please help us."

Despite the conflict not originally being Ben's responsibility, the presence of Garthan Saal, who had been a valuable guide on their travels, influenced his decision.

"Alright," Ben agreed, and with Ethan by his side, they soared towards the Dark Aster, ready to confront the formidable threat and aid in the defense of Xandar.

"Garthan, remove the shield," Ben ordered as he approached the Dark Aster.

This sudden appearance of a new person puzzled those on the battlefield, but the Nova Corps recognized him from his association with Irani Rael, and Garthan Saal vouched for his importance. The shield was lowered.

As the shield was removed under Ben's command, a moment of uncertainty lingered among the Nova Corps and the Ravagers. Rocket, expressing concern for the safety of Xandar, questioned the decision.

Rocket's skepticism echoed through the battlefield, "Why did you remove the shield?"

Garthan Saal, with confidence in Ben's abilities, reassured the others, "If he's here, we're saved."

All eyes turned to Ben, waiting to witness the extraordinary capabilities that had earned him such trust. Ben, accompanied by his son Ethan, prepared to face the imminent threat posed by Ronan and his Dark Aster.

"Ethan, you have ten minutes, destroy all the Kree people," Ben instructed his son.

"Yes, Dad," Ethan acknowledged, and with a swift move, he executed his father's command. Utilizing his unique powers of Intangibility and freezing, he swiftly moved through the Kree necrocraft, rendering them powerless in a matter of minutes. The once formidable threat from the Kree army was now neutralized, thanks to Ethan's precise and effective actions.

As the Nova Corps and the Ravagers observed Ethan's prowess, a sense of relief swept through them.

The situation intensified as Ronan, fueled by fury, confronted Ethan with a barrage of questions. "Who are you, and why did you enter the middle of my fight?" he bellowed, swinging his war hammer with menacing force.

Ethan skillfully evaded the attack, responding with calm determination, "No reason, I'm just following my dad's orders." As Ronan continued his assault, Ethan harnessed the extraordinary powers at his disposal.

Transforming into a diamond-bodied form, he unleashed devastating force upon the once formidable Dark Aster. The ship, once an imposing threat, now succumbed to the enhanced sharpness of Ethan's transformed state, shattering under his power.

As the chaos unfolded with the crumbling of Dark Aster, the Guardians of the Galaxy found themselves amidst the intense battle. Gamora, still locked in combat with Nebula, couldn't help but express her awe, "Who is this guy? He's incredible," her attention momentarily diverted by the extraordinary display of power from Ethan.

"He's a real hero," Drax observed, recognizing the impact of Ethan's actions as Kree warriors fell before his might, and the once formidable ship faced rapid deterioration.

"I am Groot," Groot chimed in, his eyes shining with a mix of amazement and understanding as he witnessed the destruction unfolding around them.

"I think we forgot something," Peter Quill suddenly realized, the gravity of their oversight sinking in. "We forgot to get off the ship." However, their realization came too late.

The damaged Dark Aster crash-landed on Xandar, and in a selfless act of sacrifice, Groot shielded the group from the brunt of the impact.

From the wreckage of the Dark Aster, Ronan emerged with a palpable rage, his gaze fixed on Ethan. "Who are you? It doesn't matter, but now I'm going to kill you because you've ruined my plans," he shouted, unleashing the formidable power of the Power Gem towards Ethan.

Ethan skillfully maneuvered to dodge the attack, yet the relentless force managed to land a blow. In response, he swiftly transformed into a diamond form, using his enhanced resilience to withstand the impact of Ronan's onslaught.

Undeterred, Ethan sought to exploit his unique abilities, attempting to use his mind powers to disrupt Ronan's thoughts. However, the attempt proved futile as the Power Gem, embedded in Ronan's warhammer, acted as a formidable shield against Ethan's mental interference.

"What's the matter, Xandar's hero? Your attacks aren't working," Ronan taunted.

"Just wait a minute; I'm figuring out how to kill you," Ethan responded, determined as he activated his ice powers, successfully freezing Ronan in a momentary triumph.

The other members of the Guardians—Drax, Gamora, Rocket, and Peter—watched in amazement at the unexpected turn of events.

However, their celebration was short-lived. Ronan's warhammer emitted an ominous blue light, unleashing a powerful blast that sent Ethan hurtling backward. Even in his diamond form, the force of the impact was devastating, resulting in the destruction of one of Ethan's hands.

Ben descended from above, landing beside Ethan. With a determined expression, he activated his healing powers, seamlessly restoring Ethan's hand to its former state.

"Dad, I couldn't defeat him," Ethan admitted, a tinge of embarrassment in his voice. He recognized the formidable challenge Ronan presented, and his powers alone seemed insufficient.

Ben offered his guidance again. "Instead of trying to attack him directly, you should have focused on his warhammer and destroyed it with your powers. That's how you could have defeated him. You need to use your brain," he imparted this valuable lesson to Ethan once more. "Now, rest."

Ben soared towards Ronan, while the Guardians of the Galaxy observed the unfolding confrontation. Rocket turned to Peter Quill seeking information about Ben.

"Who is this guy? He looks so tough?"

"I don't know who he is, but he's the previous guy's father," Peter replied, as he found when Ethan mentioned Ben as "Dad."

While Ben approached Ronan, the Accuser questioned him, while also taunting him, "Are you the father of the previous guy? You've come to get beaten as well?"

Ignoring Ronan's taunts, Ben directed his attention to Irani Rael, and asked, "Do you want him dead or alive?" He inquired, ready to act based on the Nova Prime's decision.

Irani Rael, assessing the situation, "Yes, kill him," she also wants revenge for her people sacrificed.

"You've really irritated me," Ronan shouted, channeling the formidable power of the Power Gem through his warhammer. However, as the energy surged towards Ben.

But before the attack hurt him, Ben activated the powers of Feedback, an alien form with the ability to absorb energy. And then easily he started absorbing the Power Gem energy.

Advancing calmly towards the now fearful Ronan, Ben addressed the Accuser with a chilling calmness. "You know why I ignored you? Because in my eyes, you are like an ant. If Irani hadn't pleaded with me, I wouldn't have seen you as worth the effort. So, ant, from now on, your existence is not needed," he whispered.

With a single hand, Ben effortlessly caught Ronan's warhammer and, with a swift motion, disarmed him. Harnessing the absorbed energy of the Power Gem, Ben unleashed a devastating blast upon Ronan, obliterating him completely.

Not a single piece of the Accuser remained, and was silently erased from the universe.

"Even the Power Gem couldn't harm him. He's a real badass," Rocket exclaimed, his astonishment evident.

"He must be as powerful as my dad," Gamora added, recognizing the immense strength displayed by Ben.

Peter and Drax stood in stunned silence, grappling with the enormity of witnessing Ronan's complete vaporization.

With the warhammer in hand, Ben, accompanied by Ethan, soared back to the Nova Corps headquarters. The citizens of Xandar, still in awe, witnessed their newfound savior and protector.

"Thank you so much, Ben and Ethan," Nova Prime Irani Rael expressed her heartfelt gratitude, bowing slightly to convey her thanks on behalf of the people of Xandar and the esteemed Nova Corps.

"Yes, Ben, thank you. You've saved many families, including mine," Rhomann added, showing his appreciation and expressed his deep gratitude.

"Well, you're welcome. Take this stuff with you," Ben accepted their thanks and casually tossed the warhammer still housing Power Gem inside to them.

Irani looked puzzled. "Why are you giving this up? It was a powerful weapon with the Power Gem embedded inside the warhammer."

"I've always relied on my own power. I don't depend on weapons," Ben replied. Turning to Ethan, he imparted a valuable lesson. "Ethan, remember, if you had taken Ronan's weapon, you could have defeated him. Learn from this mistake." Ethan nodded in understanding.

As the people of Xandar celebrated their saved lives, Rocket, Drax, Gamora, and Peter, now calling themselves the Guardians of the Galaxy, had their criminal charges removed and departed from Xandar.

Garthan expressed his gratitude, as he believed that if Ethan hadn't arrived in time, he might have lost his life. He pledged to be at Ben's service to continue guiding him in tourism of the Andromeda Galaxy.

"Thank you once again from the people of Xandar," Irani and Rhomann repeated their thanks.

Finally, Ben, Ethan, and Maria were ready to continue his journey to other places in Galaxy. They bid farewell to the Nova Corps, who had come to see them off.
