Chereads / The game of trust / Chapter 9 - Chit chat

Chapter 9 - Chit chat

A room illuminated by pink and blue lights. It was filled with the sound of music and cheers of people. And then, darkness swallows the room.

No more sound of cheers or music, just people wondering what happened.

While the crowd was busy contemplating what's going on meanwhile Aiden and Aurora took the chance.

They used to know each other well. Trusting the whole team blindly, they all took the chance .

Aurora went towards the door and opened it to allow some of the light to enter the room. Enough for Aiden to spot the doctor.

Ryan approached the doctor from behind and placed a gun on his forehead.

Daniel emptied the place, escalating everyone, while convincing them that everything is fine.

Aiden turned the light back on, from the main switch.

In the living room, Daniel approached the doctor and asked him the simple question.

"What's your name?" Daniel asked the doctor.

"George"

"George" said Aiden, coming into the living room, his gun pointed at George.

"Hands where I can see them" he continued.

That's when Aurora came near George and checked his pockets, she pulled out a gun from inside one of his pockets.

"Send it to the forensic department" said Aurora, looking at the gun in her hand.

"What are the chances of it being the murder weapon?" said Ryan from a distance, his voice echoing in the room.

2 days later

Aiden was sitting in a chair in front of George. The room was dark. There was a single bulb a few centimeters above the table that separated both of them.

George started speaking"Why am I here? "

There was a bruise starting to appear on his cheek and under his eye.

" You hid Tristan's body" said Aiden.

"Yes" replied George.

"Explain" Aiden ordered in a stern voice.

"I.. What?" George asked in a confused tone.

"You are Robert's brother, right?"

"Yeah, the one who was killed by Tristan" he replied in a harsh tone, and soon he realized what he just did.

Aiden smirked. "So," he said, placing his hands on the table in front of him. "Robert's brother, did you kill Tristan?" he said, a smile forming on the side of his lips.

"Yea, no, no I didn't" he said stuttering.

"What proof do you have?" he asked in a defensive tone.

He clenched his fist, hard. His foot continuously tapping.

"You had the murder weapon, we have the proof. We also have a witness, the one who helped you with the body. "

George sighed. "Now what?"

He replied in one word, "Court" he got up from the chair, went outside the room and sank in the first chair.
