Laurence stared at Iode, mesmerized by what he displayed, a sword magically appeared from his wrist, he couldn't be anymore astounded.
"He's an irregular mage with a stigma? Is this what it means to be a successor of an original five? Tch". He mumbled.
Laurence called Iode an irregular mage because wizards with no specializations are almost non-existent. Igor is the only known person with this attribute until Iode.
Iode held his sword tightly and thought:
' i have yet to learn how to imbue mana into weapons and turn it into aura, however, I can do an alternative by casting a magic spell on my sword '.
' but what spell can I use to counter his gravity magic... Wind and fire magic are the best options, but they'll require tremendous amount of mana '.
He looked at his stigma, he frowned.
' I want to beat him with my own strength not Igor's, I don't need his grimoire '.
Laurence regained his composure, magic circle appeared on his hands, large stones of various sizes began to float in the air. Iode readied himself.
"Fire magic: flame thrower!" He casts. From the hands that he used to hold the sword, flames erupts and enveloped the weapon. His sword is now coated in fire, brimming in yellow light.
' Tsk, I really need to learn how to imbue mana into weapons, this that I'm doing is nothing but casting simple magic on weapon to coat it, it's just a cheap copy of aura coating '.
Iode slashed his sword vertically, the flame that enveloped the weapon cuts through the air, moving directly to Laurence.
In response, Laurence blocked the attack with a large stone. Soon after, he commanded the floating stones to attack Iode. The stones shot at him at fast speed in their numbers.
Despite this, Iode stood unwavered, he slashed his sword horizontally and diagonally twice simultaneously, destroying some of the stones, however, the ones that got past his defensive attack hits his shoulder and legs.
He grunts, but he didn't let that stop him, rather, he took an explosive leap and got to Laurence spot in seconds time, he aims to give him a simple vertical slash of flames.
While midair, in the pose of readying to vertical slash, his hands held the hilt of the sword tightly and were faced upwards. However Laurence did not fright, he stood his ground despite being stunned by Iode's leap
Laurence brought his hand forward and a blue magic circle rotates around his palm.
"Gravity push". He casts.
As Iode was about to land his attack, he was stopped by an invisible force, then pushed back immediately. He toppled on the ground several times before stopping.
Iode grunts as he laid on the ground, he grits his teeth and looked at Laurence.
"Tch, I'm not good enough to use sword against someone like him, I have to switch to my convectional magic".
He stood up and casts "creature summon: Triospinosaurus".
A colossal hologram of a giant beast, It was approximately a 60 meter tall beast with length twice its height. With it fairly long arm, ending with long sharp claws, its long jaws filled with razor sharp teeth and most striking characteristics is its sails, which are three in number; two small sails at the neck and tail and a very large sail that ran through its back. It also has webbed feet.
This beast is known as Triospinosaurus, classified under the Mega Fauna type. While it doesn't have any special abilities, it greatly rivals those classified under the Mystical beasts.
Laurence eyes almost popped out, he opened his mouth widely gape. Summoning large mega fauna and mystic beasts is an advanced level spell that gulps up large amount of mana whether the summon is in hologram or the real beast.
"This is how you want to play it eeh, casting strong advanced magic, well, two can play that game, Core of gravity "
A blue magic circle rotates around his hands, and a small dark ball pulsating with energy appeared and began floating. It floated till it reached a considerable height, then, it began to call to itself the ground.
The ground tore up to chunks, big and small, all moving up to the dark ball. They gathered around the ball to form a large round ball made of solid dirt.
Iode stared in awe, seeing the gigantic ball of solid dirt suspended upon nothing.
"He's going all out huh, well, it's getting interesting". Iode said.
