Chapter 130 - Limitations of abilities

"Spectrum of pain!". Seraph's wooden staff glowed brightly and a thin plasma of light shot out effortlessly.

"Nyah!" The Nekomata Seraph aimed at teleported away from her spot and reappeared at Seraph's back, then she clawed her.

"Argh!". Seraph cried.

'she can teleport?, and it's instant too, ek'. Seraph thought.

"Earth shoot!". Seraph casts, but the Nekomata evaded it and clawed her arm, drawing blood.

"It's no use witch, though, you wizards might have to highest affinity for magic, but you are hella sluggish, nyah!". The Nekomata said as she began teleporting randomly, clawing Seraph whenever she reappears, drawing more blood.

"Our catlike physiology makes us very nimble, flexible, agile and fast, not to talk about our innate ability to teleport at will and shoot energy orbs, you are finished, nyah!".

She teleported from Seraph's right side and appeared at her back, this time, rather than claw her, she used her tail, which instead of one like animals, she, like other Nekomatas possess two.

She wrapped her tails around Seraph's neck, carried her up to the air and flung her thirty feet away from where she once stood. Seraph's body was screaming of pain and ache all over, she stood up on her feet, barely.

Blood drips out from her cuts and lacerations like they would never stop. She watched the Nekomata barely looking alive, her breath was fast and uneven.

'Every ability has some sort of limitations, even we wizard's magic are limited by the star level, knowledge and mana pool. Her teleporting ability must have some restrictions and limitations' Seraph thought.

"That's not enough to put you down? How about an extra push nyah!". The Nekomata said as she teleported away from her spot and appeared at Seraph's left side and slashed her face.

Then she teleported again.

'that's it, her teleportation magic skill has five seconds cool down, that should be enough time for me to counter her '. She thought.

The Nekomata appeared, ready to slash her again, but this time, Seraph was prepared.

"Blink!". Seraph casts

She disappeared just before the Nekomata's claws could scrape her skin. The Nekomata flinched, she never expected Seraph to have the magic knowledge of teleportation. While still in daze, Seraph appeared at her back, she attempts to knack her staff on the Nekomata's head.

The Nekomata heard her and evaded the attack, but Seraph already anticipated her movement, she casts:

"Flash boom!".

A bright yellow light with blinding and deafening effect, exploded and disoriented the Nekomata.

"Tag move! Terra suspendus!". A little mark of Seraph's wooden staff appeared on the Nekomata's right arm, then the ground rose up and held her.

"Die! Spectrum of pain!" Seraph casts. A thin plasma of light shot out effortlessly at the Nekomata.

Though stunned and unable to sense her surroundings, it doesn't stop her teleportation ability, the Nekomata disappeared from the spot and reappeared at about fifty five feet away.

Unknown to her, Seraph's spell followed her and hits her, her whole body tingled in pain, she screamed her entire lungs out feeling the surge that went through her.

"NYAH!!!". She screamed. She fell on the ground twitching. Slowly her senses starts to return, she could Seraph running towards her, she wanted to move but it seems her strength was zapped out during the last attack.

While in the predicament, she smiled maliciously, hoping her secret weapon takes effect. Running filled with new found strength and vigor, Seraph was preparing for a spell, suddenly, she fell on her knees.

It felt as if her whole body was upturned and churned, she began to cough out blood with visible stains of black in it. It doesn't take a genius to know that she has been poisoned. The Nekomata's claws were laced with poison, each time she clawed her, doses of poison was injected into her body.

Seraph's gasping for air became intense, it felt as if her lungs were burning and corroding each seconds, her limbs and sense of touch were becoming numb, she felt like dieing

The Nekomata smiled even more maliciously than before in where she laid.

"Muahahaha! You are finished, the poison will eat up your insides within seconds hahahaha! Nyah!". She said.

Seraph's whole body was numb, she couldn't move, she tried to cast a spell but her mouth would move, her voice wouldn't come out.

'Is this how I die! Igor! I'm sorry, I'm sorry I can't continue this journey with you '. Seraph said in her mind.

Suddenly, a hand touched her and said:

"Healing magic: foreign substance secretion!". A blue magic circle appeared on the hand and then black liquid substance starts to ooze out of Seraph's body.

Barbara raised her hand and the black liquid followed her suit. She made the liquid flow up and puts it in a clay jar, then she sealed it. She again placed her hand on Seraph who was lying on the ground and casts:

"Special Healing magic: regeneration!". Seraph could feel a surge of energy enter her, she suddenly could feel all her body and senses return, no more gasping, no lacerations, no cut, Seraph could see her body come back to shape.

"Barbara?". Seraph asked out of surprise, see could see her sweating profusely.

"Worry not Seraph, for your healer has arrived". Barbara said.

"You came to heal me! That must have sucked a huge deal of mana from you ". Seraph said out of concern.

"You don't have to worry about me, deal with her ". Barbara replied seemingly out of breath.

By this time, the Nekomata has regained her strength, she looked at Barbara and Seraph full of distain and hatred. She showed out her dreadful fangs and her eyes were blood shot, she raged out saying:

"I'll kill you, I'll kill you two dead, nyah!". She teleported away from her spot and appeared at the top of both of them, on her hand was a carnation colored energy orb, ready to slam it on their heads.

"Blink". Seraph casts as she and Barbara teleported away from the spot. The energy orb of the Nekomata hits the ground and created a miniature crater. The Nekomata snarled.

Reappearing about ten feet away, Seraph noticed what Barbara held, she asked:

"What's that you are holding".

"It's the poison that was inside of you". Barbara replied.

"Give it to me, I've got an idea". Seraph said.

Barbara gave Seraph the jar, she opened it and brought out the liquid, then she said:

"Wind propulsion!". The liquid from the jar shot out like spiting fire and headed towards the Nekomata.

Seeing this, the Nekomata dodged the attack, but once again, the spell followed her and went straight into the openings in her head; her ears and nose.

"Nyah! What is this, you injected me with my own poison! Fool, do you think I wouldn't have the antidote for it? Nyah!". The Nekomata said.

"Nyah!!!". She screamed, Seraph fired a spell on her, she was hit, and began to twitch.

"For extra precaution, Terra suspendus". The ground covered the Nekomata, unable to move and has her strength temporarily gone, she began to fear.

"Nyah! It not supposed to be like this, it cheating, I can't die from my own poison noooo, nyah!". She cried.

Seraph catches her breath has she watches the Nekomata cry and throw tantrum.

"Thanks for coming to my aid Barbara ".
