Illusium city, being an harbor city, she is a commercial center. Throughout her existence, she has witnessed a lot of disasters whether natural or artificial and one of such disasters is attacks of large creatures of the seas.
The sea invader is a Luwesaur. Luwẹsaur is an umbrella name that consist of numerous large sea creatures. This kind of Luwẹsaur invader is called a luwesuchus, it has long crocodile like snout, four large flipper feet, a long tail ending with a crescent fluke. It mouth is filled with serrated, razor sharp teeth, strong enough to break ships to splinters.
Luwẹsaurs are classified as mega fauna, while they do not have abilities, they are one of the seas apex predators and bane of sailors. The people of Illusium are no stranger to attacks such as this, while they do cause great distress to the harbor, they are usually left alone to throw their tantrum, after a while they would leave to the open sea.
This is the best course of action to take as most of Illusium's inhabitants are low level mages with few mid levels, it would be suicidal for such people to battle large mega fauna, not to talk about it being an aquatic creature. But this time around, it's different, luwesaurs would come to the harbor, throw tantrums and leave soon after, this time, the luwesuchus made the harbor of Illusium it's abode.
It has been causing a lot of problems for the people to the extent that sailors and travelers seems to be avoiding Illusium harbor, therefore dwindling the economy of the city.
Iode could see people running helter skelter to find shelter and hide from the terror of the harbor. He asked the couch man to stop so he could ask a passer-by the situation of what was happening. He stopped a little girl with pony tail and asked.
"Lily! What is happening, why is everyone running like this?".
"Iode? you are the one riding such fancy carriage? Ah i forgot i saw you on the screen looking sheepish, the archmage introduced you as the successor of Igor that is awesome,i can't wait...". Lily the little girl starts to blab the moment she laid her eyes on Iode, forgetting about the mayhem happening in the background.
"Sigh, lily, this is an emergency, what's with the blabbing, we can talk about that later, come into the carriage ". Iode said.
Lily entered the carriage and and looked round it, mesmerized by it workmanship, her eyes glittered as she as never entered a fancy carriage before. Iode sighed and facepalmed, Lily has always been like this, she's easily distracted by her surroundings.
Being born and raised in Illusium city, Iode knows most of it native inhabitants and such is Lily. Iode had a little patience for her because she's a little girl but properties... and lives are at stake here.
"Lily! Get the hold of yourself, why is everyone running from a Luwesaur with so much discomposure and dismay ". Iode asked her authoritatively.
She pouted then replied:
"For some time now, that Luwesaur has been staying here at the harbor, it refused to leave like other Luwesaurs do, most of the time its usually calm but once it begins it tantrums, it ravages any surrounding ships and buildings ".
Iode was stunned hearing her words, he himself is no stranger to Luwesaur's ravages to the harbor but this is the first time he is hearing a Luwesaur intentionally reside at the harbor. What could have caused this to happen, Iode thought.
He got down from the carriage and asked the couch man to drop Lily at her home_ she'll lead him there. He held his new staff by his right hand and Igor's book by his left.
'Dealing and taming of beasts is a specialty of the Red tower, i don't know if i can wade it off '. He thought.
He looked at the book at his left hand and thought
'Igor should have a spell a low level mage like me could use '.
He held the staff tightly and ran towards the rampaging beast.
' As the successor of the wizard's icons, this is part of my job to solve '. Iode thought.
