Chapter 65 - Past or a future

Sleeping in his room, only to wake up in a completely different place. Iode stood from where he sat and looked around his surroundings confused.

"Where am I"?

He looked around the place and found out that he had been here before, he was in the Archmage's office. Painted purple in color with alluring architectural design inlaid with beautiful stones and a few shelves filled with books.

The design of the office is quite different from what he saw during the day he visited but it was still very much similar as the office still looked very familiar to him.

In the office, he saw a man seated on a large stone chair filled with eccentric designs and precious stones and a wooden table in front of him. Iode felt something unfamiliar yet a familiar feeling coming from the seated man.

The seated man seems to be a middle aged person with long black beard. He wore a purple hat matching his beautifully made purple rope. He was scribbling something on a scroll.

Iode doesn't know this person, but he assumes the person as the Archmage even though he looks so different from Archmage Averay the current archmage, probably he was an archmage of the past or is it the future, Iode couldn't tell.

Unexpectedly, the door to the office was opened abruptly and a panicking witch ran inside.

"Archmage Glorystein, they are here, they are destroying everything with unknown technology, we have to stop them before it gets any worse". She said.

"God damnit". The Archmage said as he stopped his work and ran at an incredible speed for wizard like him.

Both the Archmage and the witch ran outside ignoring Iode. He came to deduce that he cannot be seen, he was an invisible entity watching as the story unfolds, but it begs a question, why and how did he feel the blast from last time, it was very much realistic.

Iode would think about that later, right now he has to know what is happening. He followed the two to a veranda. The show set before him was like a continuation of his last nightmare. His eyes contracted as he looked around seeing a mass destruction of Wizardsville.

Iode couldn't understand what is happening, which nation or tribe is responsible for this, he wants to know. He could see some wizards and witches trying their best to stop the ' exploding ships '. He attempts to join them, but he stopped and looked at the face of the Archmage.

The Archmage gritted his teeth angrily and clenched his fist. Visible blood could be seen coming from the palms as he clenched too hard his nails were sinking into the skin.

"These people's attacks knows no bound, they are attacking every nation in the Heaters simultaneously ". The Archmage said.

He jumped off the veranda, landed and thrusted his staff forward. A huge purple beam of light shot out with immense energy.

The light beam destroyed a part of the large 'ship' that was floating in the sky, but it wasn't enough to bring it down. The ' ship ' continued releasing the 'exploding ship's ' that moved like they have a mind of their own.

The Archmage together with other high ranking wizards tried their best to stop those 'exploding ship's ' which they succeeded and reduced additional damages.

"You guys, try your best to stop any incoming artillery objects, that gargantuan ship needs to be destroyed, if not it will keep sending those things, buy me some time ". Archmage Glorystein said.

The Archmage stood at a spot, he held his staff by his right hand and his left, he made a sign. Just then, a large circle appeared right below him, glowing in purple with many inscriptions written in it. He stood still, closed his eyes and was reciting some spells.

The other high ranking wizards were doing their best to give a minimal damage to the gianomous ship. The Archmage was ready after a few minutes.

His eyes glowed purple and large purple chains sprung up from the ground and held the gianomous ship in place. Sparks of electrical discharge ran along the chains and went straight up to the gianomous ship to drain it from power, causing some explosions in the ship.

Large magic circle of wide range appeared on the Archmage's hands and a powerful, huge beam of light shot from it, destroying a very large part of the gianomous ship.

The ship flew down with eye blinding smoke and landed at the outskirt of the city. The Archmage looked at the destruction of Wizardsville, the capital city of the wizards.

He was clearly sad and very angry. He went back to the near untouched residence of the Archmage and called an emergency meeting.

"It is a matter of time before we get overwhelmed, we can't go on like this. This people, they have defeated the Elves, Fairies and the Goblins".

"Our temporary alliance with other tribes and the Kaijus can only last for so long. The Stickmen despite their strength have lost a lot including their lands. The Turfs are the only ones coping well ".

"We are going through a planetary cleansing, what do we do ". Archmage Glorystein said with interlocked fingers and darkened face.
