Chapter 18 - Chapter 18 :

Bittu woke up and today after checking his stats decided to check how many days he had been trapped in this game.

[Main Mission: Survive for six months, 19/183]

Just like the first day, he had gotten the congratulations message from the system on the tenth day.

After all this time, Bittu has finally started to miss the days back in the outside world. It was a boring but peaceful nevertheless. He missed his friends and his life back in those peaceful times. They were so enjoyable.

Bittu came back from his old memories and decided to do the usual. He exercised for about three hours. He continued to do exercises not because he was obsessed with his strength.

It was because after the tenth day of doing exercises Bittu finally started to notice something different about his body. His strength didn't increase but the ways how his body consumed stamina changed, before it felt like he was using more and excessive stamina than need; like its wastage was huge compares to the work done. But, nowadays Bittu's would not get tired as easily as before.

For comparision, before Bittu used to use his all to practice archery for about four hours but now he could do so for five hours with a little more stamina left.

Not only that, his constitution that was increased by system just made the latent limt of the body increase, it didn't increase his strength at all. Now that, he exercises and practices everyday, his strength has unexpectedly risen from two-fold to three-fold of the start even though his strength has not increased. Bittu was almost in ecstasy when he found this out initially.

Bittu after completing his exercises, climbed the tree to eat the fruits that he had collected today.

As Bittu ate food, he glanced towards south. His eyes then captured something shining. Bittu immediately climbed to the top of the tree to better look at what was shining.

Bittu, at the top of the tree looked at the shining light that was coming from far away. Bittu kept looking at the light and was baffled because he felt like he had seen this kind of light before. After a while, he remembered where he saw that kind of light.

The light was the same as the violet light that erupted from unlocking his perception stat.

Bittu looking at the light was in thoughts.

'It looks like other players have also started to unlock their locked stats.' thought Bittu with an serious expression.

"One can only live free, if one has what it takes to do so." An old but caring voice echoed in Bittu's mind as Bittu looked at the light.

"Looks like I need to spend more time in the woods than expected." said Bittu to himself as that one's words stuck him in his heart. These were the words of someone Bittu respected and loved and he would follow through them.

Bittu got down and started his archery practice.

As the days went by, Bittu's practice continued and his archery improved. In those days, that light shined several times though one thing to notice was that it didn't come from just one direction and the colour of lights were very different. No light looked like it was same, even if the eye felt like it had seen the same light, the mind would deny it and firmly say that there are some difference in the lights.

One think to take notice of was Bittu's arrow making skills have increased and his arrows deal more damage now. It can more easily penetrate the thick hides of the wild animals.

Bittu training continued, for about ten days and on this day, Bittu was currently hiding in the bushes looking at his latest prey. The prey was surprising the deer that he encountered on the first day of his hunt.

Bittu aimed with the arrow and released it with the eye of the deer as it's target. Not waiting, he once again pulled the rope and released another arrow with the deers heart as it's target. Bittu finished these action in three seconds.

The deer showed a shocked face when it saw the arrow and just lowered it's body from the trajectory of the arrow. The deer showed a cocky face thinking how easily it has managed to dodge the arrow but alas, not aware that an arrow like the skype of the grim reaper had reached its heart ready to strike in a moment. Then, the deer died with the same cocky expression on its face as the arrow cleanly penetrated the heart.

Bittu looking at the sense had an emotionless face when suddenly he started to laugh like crazy, "..... Hahahahahahahaha.... That's what you get for mocking me, now whose the one laughing... Hahahah–."

Bittu's laughing came to stop as the deer's body stared to glow and started to change shape. From ita big body it changed into a small body and after that the light vanished.

Bittu who was shocked seeing this all happen immediately rushed to the deers location, to see if what just happened is what he thinks it to be.

Which was indeed the case as replacing the deers body was a scroll.

Bittu was confused as he thought that, he would get an equipment, his first equipment but, that doesn't seems to be the case. What he got is a scroll.

The old and worn-out scroll, its edges frayed and surface discolored. Its parchment bears the weight of ancient secrets, a testament to the knowledge and mysteries hidden within its weathered pages, ready to unfold in the hands of a new seeker.

He bend to pick up the scroll. But, the moment he touched the scroll, he heard the AI speak.

[Detected that the player has found a common scroll. Would you like to open it? ]

"...Yes", Bittu said unsure as to what was going to happen.

[ Scroll opened:

Please choose one item from the following:

1. 2mm Kolibri

2. Akdal Ghost TR01

3. ALFA Defender

4. Poison

5. Arsenal P-M02 ]

Bittu was baffled looking at all the names on the screen. He in his life has never heard these names. In the column the only thing that he has ever heard is poison.

Bittu unsure as to what he would get if he choose from the above decided to choose the only thing he knew of and that would be of use to him in the current situation.

"Poison"

The list then disappeared from his sight and the scroll once again glowed and a bottle of poison appeared in its place.

The bottle was about five inch in length and purple in colour.

Bittu curious as to how powerful the poision is, decided to check. He droped a drop of posion on the grass.

Bittu waited for five second, ten second, fifteen second but nothing happened but on the twentieth second, the grass rapidly decayed and then died.

Bittu was in ecstasy, as he got such a powerful poision in a jungle. It could help him in his fight against the top predators of the forest.

Bittu life then continued as before. Eat, exercise, practice, craft and hunt. This continued for ten more days. In the days of the hunt Bittu hunted a lot of animals but non of them were predators.

Today, Bittu was rushing in the direction of the tiger. That's right– He was finally going to continue on his way out of the forest.

Bittu after an hour arrived at the location from where he had seen the tiger. Unfortunately, this time he didn't see the tiger.

Bittu deciding to be cautious, made a trap, so that if things go west it could help him escape or could help him kill the tiger.

He brought all the sharp stones he could find nearby. He then scattered them below a tree. He then found all the ropes he could find and made a net out of them. He didn't hope the tiger to get trapped in it, he just hoped that it would lift the tiger to enough height so when the rope breaks the tiger will land in the sharp stones.

He was going to use this to wound the tiger and then kill it with the poison laced arrow.

Bittu after making arrangements, started to move forward. His steps were heavy and his body tense. He was alert at a times.

As Bittu ventured deeper, he suddenly felt a malicious gaze directed at him By far, this was the greatest and the heaviest intent directed at him. But, Bittu was not the same as he used to be. His body remained in his control even in the face of such heavy maliciousness.

Bittu acted oblivious to the gaze and continued to walk. He then, felt someone closely following him from behind.

Bittu determination wavered as he felt such feeling, he not as confident as before decided to climb a nearby tree to attack the tiger from far.

The panther–correct, a panther. Bittu had mistaken the panther as a tiger because of the distance, sensing the fear from his prey immediately pounced at him.

Bittu's immediately felt his perception screaming at him of an immense threat so, he immediately acted as decided and jumped at a tall tree nearby changing his initial direction.

The panther missed it's prey, it turned around to see where has the prey gone.

After all this while, Bittu has become proficient in climbing trees, so he climbed the tree quite fast before the tig– he stopped and stared at the panther for a while and almost shook his head at his mistake.

He then looked at the pather that was looking at him and walking back. Bittu guessed what the panther was up to and immediately took the poision out of his inventory, ready to spray at any moment, he guessed that the panther was about to climb the tree with its paws and attack him and that is what the panther did.

It quickly accelerated and then when it reached the tree it jumped tk climb the tree with the first hum it climbed half the tree. Bittu waited. The panther jumped again almost reached him and before the pather could attack. Bittu opened the poision bottle and put three drips of poision in the panthera right eye.

The panther that was about to use it paw to attack the strange monkey, suddenly whistled, chirped, growled, hissed, and purred as the poison entered the panthers eye and before it could land a hit it lost its momentum and started to fall, Bittu not missing the opportunity instantly took out the bow and arrow from the inventory and aimed at the heart of the panther and released the arrow. He didn't stop aimed another arrow at its leg joint and released, still not satisfied he aimed the arrow in the center of the panthers skull, still afraid that it wasn't enough released another arrow at the panthers mouth that was currently opened.

Even though it looks like it happened in a long time, all this happened in a span of 25 seconds.

Bittu watched as his first two arrows were deflected because of the panther struggling but the others managed to do their job and seriously wound the panther and render it less harmless till the poision kills it.

Indeed, after two minutes the struggling panther died.

Bittu managed to emerge victorious.

Bittu watched as the panthers dead body once again glowed as it started to change shape and become scroll.

Bittu was surprised but happy as this was his second scroll. He hoped to get something useful from this scroll too. He quickly picked up the scroll.

[Detected that the player has found a common scroll. Would you like to open it? ]

"...Yes", Bittu said happily.

[ Scroll opened:

Please choose one item from the following:

1. Derringer

2. Flintlock

3. Musket

4. Dagger

4. Muzzleloader ]

Bittu's happy face froze when he looked at the names that he had to chose from. He in his life had never heard abou– No, wait I have actually heard about one..no, ... two of them... no, actually I know three of them. Musket: An early, long-barreled, smoothbore firearm, Muzzleloader: A firearm loaded from the muzzle, typically using black powder and the dagger.

Bittu knowing these two guns also guessed that the others should be guns too or something related to them.

Bittu looking at the guns was tempted to choose the gun because he was currently in a forest not a human settlement so, using a gun was akin to calling random animals and predators his way.

He need to be as silent as possible to survive and get to the other side of the forest, so Bittu not acting on impulse said,

"... Dagger... "

The list then disappeared from his sight and the scroll once again glowed and a dagger appeared in its place.

Bittu bent and took the daggers in his hand. It was a weathered dagger. It catches the light with a glint of sharpness, its edges honed by countless adventures. As you grasp its hilt, a cool, almost magical sensation permeates your touch, revealing a blade that seems to remember the whispers of secrets and the dance of the moonlit battles.

Bittu was amazed looking at the dagger. He put the dagger into his pants where it was easy to take out, as it could be used in unexpected situations to help him save his life.

Bittu then once again, left the area. After splinting for about two kilometres back from the location of the battle Bittu decided that it was time to take rest. This was the same place he had laid the trap on. Unexpectedly, it was not needed.

Bittu atop the tree resting while eating and drinking water was currently looking at the description of the new dagger he got.
