Chapter 13 - Chapter 13 : The strom

A while back:

As Qi Shu and Mike approached the room, Qi Shu, whose face was dark and filled with fear, suddenly felt that his skill had activated, and he started to hear some of Bittu's thoughts.

'Now, only two of them left.'

Suddenly, Qi Shu, whose face looked as if he had seen a ghost, changed, and a smile found its way onto his face. The moment he and Mike arrived in front of the door of the room Bittu was in, he stopped Mike and gestured for him to stay where he is, while also telling him to be quiet.

He then spoke in a loud voice.

"Mike, now that it has come to this, why don't you throw a grenade inside the room? We can't be bothered to keep a low profile when it has come to this."

Right after he said that, he started to hear more voices in his head.

'What...??? A grenade!'

'I need to leave the room before that happens; I can't stay here anymore.'

'.....I need to move out by the window.'

As Qi Shu heard all this, a smirk crept on his smiling face. He leaned and whispered to Mike in his ears.

"Keep your eye on the window, shoot the moment you notice anything or anyone there... If there's no movement in 2 minutes, still shoot that window and near that place," said Qi Shu in a voice that was filled with pride.

Mike, hearing Qi Shu, was enlightened as to why he did that and exposed their whereabouts. Mike nodded at Qi Shu and pulled out both guns, holding them ready to strike at a moment's notice.

Meanwhile, Bittu, unaware that his thoughts were being read, continued to move towards the direction of the window.

Mike, after seeing that his visibility was very low in the darkness, decided to slowly get inside the room with Qi Shu following after him. Alas, what a blunder that was;

Bittu, while moving towards the window and keeping his eyes on the door, saw two people get inside the room in an awkward way. He, who was panicked just now, almost laughed out loud due to anger.

'Trying to make me a fool...' thought Bittu as he shot the gun that was held in his hand. Qi Shu, who heard his thoughts, was shocked at how Bittu managed to find that he had tricked him. Before he could make sense of what happened, a bullet penetrated his head. He died still thinking as to what exposed him.

Mike, who was ready to shoot at a moment's notice, managed to shoot a bullet in Bittu's direction when he heard the bullet's sound that killed Qi Shu. As the bullet left his gun, it managed to scratch Bittu's left arm. At the same time, a bullet penetrated his head.

Bittu, in his anger, shot them in the head without even realizing it. It was as if he did it on instinct. Only after the pain of the scratch reached his mind did he manage to come out of his shock.

He didn't know how he has become this proficient in firearms. He has never held a gun before this, so he fired the gun at his assailants in their chests so that even if the shot didn't kill them, it would manage to severely injure them.

After a while, Bittu came to a conclusion.

"Now, I can be sure that I am inside a game." Any shred of doubt or hope that Bittu held till now that all this was fake, most likely a dream, shattered, and he accepted his new reality. Otherwise, how could he learn to wield firearms without ever wielding or practicing with it?

Bittu, without thinking further, checked all the others to find the bandage that was used to cover Rex's wound. After a while, he found the bag with Linda. He opened the bag and found antiseptic, bandages, and some other medications.

Bittu started to wrap the bandage around his arm after applying antiseptic. After doing so, he went ahead and collected all the guns and magazines he could find on them.

Meanwhile, standing on a nearby building not far from the abandoned house was an old man currently looking in the direction of that particular house.

The old man had been there for a while. When he arrived, the sounds of gunfire filled the air. He immediately knew that the target and his mates were in a confrontation. Despite continuously hearing gunshots, he refrained from entering the house to provide help. He remained loyal to his boss, understanding his intentions to strike the target when they would be least prepared.

He waited patiently for the target to come out of the house and for the perfect opportunity to strike.

Bittu had already collected all the firearms of his assailants. He was shocked to see that the only girl in the group carried a grenade with her.

Bittu felt a chill run down his spine when he remembered what Qi Shu said to bluff him. If, instead of that guy, this girl was there, then he would be the one dead right now. Bittu was relieved that he killed this woman first; otherwise, he would be dead.

Bittu collected all the magazines in the guns and the two extra magazines held by everyone, putting them in the bag that he found on Mike. He put three magazines with him just in case. He took one pistol and one revolver, knowing that there might be a long-distance fight where the pistol would be useless, and only the revolver would be of use.

He also put the grenade in the bag as he didn't want to play with it. He had a feeling that it would be of use in a crucial moment.

Bittu packed his bag and moved out of the house. The moment he walked out, his relaxed muscles, mind, and heart were once again filled with tension. He almost froze because of what happened.

He once again felt a malicious gaze directed at him, and this one was by far the most deadly. He felt slightly suffocated by such a heavy maliciousness. He was baffled that such an aura could even exist.

His adrenaline which was decreasing after the earlier fight, surged once again. He decided to act just like earlier and trap the one that was aiming to kill him and make him taste his own medicine.

He, without looking over, continued on his way out of the alleyway. That was a mistake. The moment his back was in sight of the old man, he fired the revolver he was holding since the beginning.

*Bang*

Bittu was shocked when he heard the sound of the gun being fired. He never thought that the old man would directly shoot him. He thought, like normal villains in the outside world, the one who was here to kill him would also question him about the whereabouts of his goons. But, that didn't seem to be the case.

Bittu, with his newfound perception and his outstanding reflexes, managed to evade his body from the place he was at by rolling on the ground.

*Bang*

Before he could react, the sound of the gun once again came, and the bullet penetrated him in his back. He let out a shrill cry.

*Bang*

"Aaahhhhhh... "

Once again, the sound of the gun came. But, this time, the bullet didn't strike Bittu, but an old steel bin that Bittu was currently hiding behind. He has managed to hide behind the bin. He rolled to do just that.

After a while, the old man, seeing that he can't land a hit on the target if Bittu keeps hiding, decided to get down the building. He kept his eyes on the bin that has Bittu while coming down the stairs.

Bittu was currently stumbled as to what he should do. He was in a panic. He didn't know what he could do. Before he managed to trick those goons, but this one seemed to be much more experienced. He was on the loosing end before he could even think of a plan.

Bittu looked towards the direction from which he was shot through the small hole that was in the bin. He saw that the one that struck him was an old man. Although that was all he could see before that hole was shot by the old man.

The bullet almost managed to penetrate Bittu's eyes and his skull. He moved away from that hole with his reflexes and his perception that played a huge role in doing so.

'...Be calm...Be calm...Only then I can overcome the situation.'

Bittu tried to calm himself down to think of a way out of his current situation. Bittu first decided to check the visibility of the old man. He thought that since the one who attacked him was an old man, he would have bad vision, and moreover, in the darkness of the night with only the moonlight as the source of light, the old man would not be able to see him clearly if he tried to distract him with all the useless things here.

He would aim to finish the bullets in the old man's revolver first and then make a run. 'That's a good plan,' thought Bittu.

He threw all the things he could find near the bin, such as; glass, cans, worn-out clothes, broken woods, even newspaper, but the old man didn't strike anything. Bittu was baffled to see this.

'The old man shot me when I looked through a small hole, but he didn't attack when he saw so many things thrown in his vision. Maybe I could have used that to escape so he should have tried to shoot these, but he didn't. What's going on?!'

What Bittu didn't know was that the old man was a skill user. He had a skill called "target," which was an eye skill. This skill helped the old man to lock on his target unless the target is completely out of his sight. This skill didn't help the old man in a way such that he would shoot and it would automatically land a hit. It only helps the old man to look far and lock on his target while also making his eyes sharp. The only limitations of this skill were that he could only lock onto five people at most in the span of a day.

He was currently locked onto Bittu. He shot Bittu at the start because that was the perfect opportunity. He shot the next time in the small hole because his skill helped him identify that spot as a potential spot to damage the target. He didn't know that Bittu was looking at him from that hole.

He was right now moving in Bittu's direction to finish the mission that those idiots from earlier couldn't.

Meanwhile, Bittu was currently looking at the bag that was near him intensely. He opened the bag and took out the only grenade in it. He didn't think that he would have to use the grenade so quickly after he got it.

Before he saw that the old man was coming his way, now all he needed to do was wait till the old man is within his range to throw the grenade and finish this disgusting old man.

The old man not knowing Bittu's vicious plan continued on his way towards Bittu. After a while, the old man was in range of what Bittu could throw the grenade accurately. But, Bittu still didn't throw the grenade; he knew that this was his only chance. So he would only throw it when he is absolutely sure to kill the old man.

The old man continued to approach the bin that hid Bittu. The old man was only about a hundred meters away from Bittu when Bittu didn't throw the grenade but fired the revolver that was with him towards the old man.

The old man immediately dodged the first two bullets of the round with the help of his skill. He fired three bullets to change the direction of three bullets and then once again dodged the last two bullets.

The old man was able to dodge the bullets because he was expecting something like this from his target. How could a man that was able to escape from six armed people be so easy to kill? The old man was sure that his target would try something, which was why he kept his skill activated at all times, so he could counter whatever the target was planning. And that was what followed after.

The old man only had one bullet left in his revolver, but that didn't concern him as he had absolute faith in his firearm proficiency that once he sees the target, he could kill the guy.

The old man continued on his way to the bin.

Bittu, who hid after he fired this round of bullets, had a smirk right now. Bittu didn't throw the grenade just because he too, like the old man, knew that he couldn't make a one-layer trick to make the old man fall into it. He learned his lesson from the mistake he just made and had his back shot.

This time he made a two-layered trick, and the old man fell for this one. Bittu heard the footsteps of the old man closing in.

Bittu once again started to throw glass, cans, worn-out clothes, broken woods, even newspaper, but this time towards the old man.

The old man, seeing this, almost laughed out loud due to these seemingly silly tactics to escape. Even though he thought that this was funny, the old man didn't lose his focus. He continued to keep Bittu as his locked target. The old man, due to this seemingly easy victory, failed to notice that within this barrage of garbage, a grenade was thrown his way too.

His focus was currently on his target; Bittu, who was within his line of sight throwing those garbage. The old man without thinking further pulled the triger and,

*Bang*

The bullet got past all the garbage and hit Bittu, who was currently giving his all to evade the bullet that was fired in such a close confrontation. Bittu with his newfound perception and his monstrous reflex managed to change the target of the bullet. The bullet hit him on his left shoulder.

The old man who was currently smiling felt a chill run down his spine when he saw the cold smirk on Bittu's face, instead of a painful and fearful one.

The grenade landed just before the old man. The old man continued walking without even sparing the thing that arrived before him a glanceglance just focusing on Bittu.

*BOOOOOOM*

Just like the old man didn't spare the grenade a glance, fate did the exact same to him. With a boom, he was erased from this world. He died as his blood, muscles, bones, mucus, etc., evaporated along with the grenade.

Bittu who should be currently grunting and making painful cries because of never bearing such pain didn't do that.

His face that held the smirk became emotionless. His face didn't betray any emotion but his eyes did. In his eyes, you could see a storm of rage and madness.

Neither Bittu nor the people of the city knew that this storm was the starting point of a woeful future for both himself and the city.
