Nicholas went upstairs to meet his wife. She was lying down on the bed, waiting for him.
He got on the bed and placed his hand on her bulging belly, feeling the soft kicks from the little one inside.
"I can't wait for him to finally come to the world," Nicholas said staring lovingly at his wife.
"What makes you think it's a him? I want a her." Ashley, his wife said and they laughed.
"Whether a boy or a girl, as long as it's ours, I'll cherish it for the rest of my life and I'll cherish their mother too."
Ashley blushed.
"What did Ethan want?" She asked.
"He wanted me to send some money to his mother."
"Oh, I see," Ashley said.
She pulled Nicholas closer and kissed him.
"I want you." She whispered softly.
"Baby?"
"Yes, I do." She said staring deeply into his eyes.
"I'll just send the money to her. Give me a minute." Nicholas said as he got up from the bed.
He hurriedly made the transaction and went back to his needy wife.
"So where were we?" He asked caressing her face.
"The baby wants to meet its daddy." She said.
"Or mummy wants daddy?" He asked as he bit his lips seductively.
"Mummy wants daddy." She whispered and kissed him again, this time more passionately...
*************
Isla was in class trying to catch up with what she had missed, while her friend Melissa was just lazily scrolling through her phone.
All of a sudden, her eyes lit in excitement.
"Isla, guess what?" She said excitedly.
Isla turned to her.
"What?"
"Just guess." Melissa probed.
"Tomorrow is Christmas?"
"No dummy. Try again."
"Melissa, I've got a lot of work to do here," Isla said.
"Look," Melissa said, giving Isla a phone.
It was a social media post from Fashion Frenzy Homes official page.
They were having a fashion exhibition show. It was at a park and it was free.
"Can you believe it? Ethan George!" Melissa said excitedly.
Isla just passed Melissa's phone back to her without saying a word.
"Aren't you gonna say something?" Melissa asked.
" Nope."
"But why? Aren't you going?" Melissa asked, looking downcast.
"That's valuable time. I can use it to study or work and make money. I can't just do anything I want."
"But he's your idol," Melissa said.
"I'm a fan of his work. He's not my idol. I'm not even into fashion."
"You sell clothes online. How are you not into fashion?"
"I sell already made clothes. He sells his handmade clothes directly from the maker. They are two different things." Isla said.
" But, it's free. We can still go have fun."
"Having fun is for rich people like you. So go have fun." Isla said.
"Well, it's still a week away, there could be changes before then," Melissa said.
"Well, okay," Isla said with a shrug.
"But you have to go! Ethan George is so handsome. I mean, every girl wants him. Or don't you want him?"
Isla rolled her eyes.
"I can't waste my time wanting or crushing on a man I would never get. He doesn't even know I exist, so what's the point?"
Melissa smirked.
"Let's say, he asks you to be his girlfriend. What would be your response?"
Isla burst into fits of laughter.
"That's a very funny thing to say. Asks me out? Melissa, you know that's impossible. Not in this world or in the world to come. It's never going to happen. And the earlier you stop living in your dreams, the better for you." Isla said still laughing.
"But, you've got to imagine sometimes. Dreams do come true. And I'll be so glad to be your chief bridesmaid at you and Ethan's wedding." Melissa stood up and began to demonstrate.
"Would you take Miss Isla Jacobs to be your lawfully wedded wife? Yes, I do. Would you take Mr. Ethan George to be your lawfully wedded husband? Yes, I do. You may kiss your bride." Melissa said trying to imagine a wedding.
"You're so delusional, girl," Isla said almost choking with laughter.
"But, it would be perfect. You wouldn't have to deal with your crazy boss again. You wouldn't have to waste your time making videos marketing your goods. You wouldn't even need school. You would have the life of your dreams." Melissa said.
"Why are you saying all these?"
"Well, I'm just trying to make you come to the exhibition show. It just might happen, he may fall in love with you at first sight, after all, you're so pretty and you look delicious, every man would like a bite."
"Ewww," Isla said.
"No one has ever fallen in love with me. I am a weirdo and I know that. Look, let's just stop all this talk about Ethan George falling for me. He's rich and handsome and probably has a woman somewhere, he's just a really private person and he doesn't want to expose his personal life." She said with an uncomfortable look on her face.
"Well, that could be true. She's so lucky. She literally has everything." Melissa said with a dreamy look.
"Well, back to reality. I've got work to do." Isla said and turned to read.
"I don't get it. Why is statistics so hard?" She lamented after two minutes.
"Apparently, you weren't in class, so I'm not surprised," Melissa said.
"Regardless, it shouldn't be this hard."
"Then, drop out." Melissa said and Isla groaned tiredly.
Her phone began to ring.
"Oh my God. Who is it this time?" Isla said and picked up her phone.
She saw the caller ID and frowned.
Melissa raised a brow at her on seeing her reaction.
"Who is it?"
"My boss," Isla said.
"Oh," Melissa said with a sudden look of disdain.
Isla watched the phone ring as she didn't want to pick it up.
"Let me have it," Melissa said and grabbed the phone.
"Isla, we've been booked for Ethan George's fashion show next week. So get ready, we have to impress him. Okay?" Madison said excitedly and hung up.
"What did she say?" Isla asked.
"You won't believe it," Melissa said with a smirk.
"Believe what?"
"You've been fired."
"Fired?" Isla asked as she immediately stood up.
"Relax miss. You guys have been booked for Ethan George's fashion show."
"What?" Isla asked with her eyes widened.
"Exciting right? Now you have no excuse." Melissa said smiling.
"Oh no," Isla said.
"Haha. Oh yes." Melissa added with a wide grin.
