Chapter 9 - Training!

"So, what is the illness?" Kaen asked impatiently after returning to his room.

Demios also appeared in the ethereal form in front of him to answer his question.

"It is not an illness but a side-effect!" Demios answered calmly.

"Side-effect?"

Demios nodded: "Yes, It is a side-effect of your mother's physique. She has the ice-phoenix physique which is famous in the Higher realm. It is rare to see a human possessing this physique..."

Kaen didn't want to know about the physique, he was only interested to know if his mother could be saved or not.

"Can she be saved? Do you know the cure?"

"Of course, Who do you take me for?" Demios replied proudly: "It's simple. Her illness is due to the invading cold in her body due to her physique, you only need to feed her something of the opposite nature to calm the cold, that would extend her lifespan and she'd be able to live longer than in your previous life!"

Kaen nodded in understanding before inquiring further: "Can't she be fully cured? Only extending her lifespan by a few years isn't enough!"

Kaen didn't want to lose his mother again to this illness even after getting a second chance at life.

Demios nodded: "To cure her completely, there is only one way. You need to feed her something of the same level as the cold. To my knowledge, only a fire dragon's blood satisfies that criteria. Also, the Fire Dragon needs to be of high blood purity. A weak dragon's blood won't be powerful enough to fight the cold!"

"Hmm... a fire dragon... that's a bit difficult at my current power level. I need to atleast be a 6-star aura knight to even dare to fight a fire dragon that has the desired blood purity." Kaen murmured in contemplation before asking Demios: "What does she need to eat to extend her lifespan?"

"Herbs that grow near a volcano will do just fine!" Demios replied smilingly.

"A Volcano... there is none nearby and traveling to one will take time, it seems I'll have to increase my strength first nonetheless!" Kaen murmured in thought before clapping his hands as made up his mind.

He had a plan of action for now as he went downstairs to finish the lunch that his mother prepared. After finishing the lunch, he left the house to go to the woods again.

This time he was going there to train.

It wouldn't be possible to train near people since he will be using aura at times in training that could destroy the surrounding.

To unleash his full strength without worries, he needed to go to such a secluded place.

After reaching the end of the safe range where strong monsters don't appear, he began his training.

This body is too weak since it hasn't trained much.

Also, I need to develop the required muscles needed to wield the trident properly.

Let's start the training without any aura.

Holding the trident in his right hand, he began to perform basic moves.

First, a Thrust!

Second, a swing!

He repeated these two moves alternatively until his muscles became sore.

After feeling that he was done with warming up, He began much more advanced moves.

Shifting his stance, he was widening his feet, lowering his center of gravity as he began a new series of movements.

Lifting the trident high, he drove it downward in a powerful stabbing motion, as though striking an invisible opponent beneath him.

Pivoting swiftly, he was sweeping the trident in a wide arc close to the ground, scattering leaves and dirt.

He continued with a lunging thrust, rotating the trident mid-motion so that it twirled, creating a defensive screen in front of him—a blur of silver and wood. He was rising with it, slashing in a diagonal line as though a claw were slicing the air.

Kaen placed the trident behind his back, shifting it to his other hand in a quick, practiced move, then spun it with one hand to build momentum.

He was executing a spinning leap, using the trident's centrifugal force to make a wide, sweeping strike in mid-air.

When he touched down, he launched into a series of rapid jabs, the trident's tips flashing like quicksilver with each deadly, controlled strike.

The point of this training was simple... to make his body accustomed to using the trident and also to develop the necessary muscles for it.

His stamina was another issue that would be fixed by this training. All in all, this was a necessity before moving any further.

After the sun went down, Kaen returned home, ate dinner, and slept.

The next morning, he once again returned to the woods to train. He began the same movements as yesterday. His body was hurting all over due to muscle pain, however, he persisted. He knew it would be like that since it was only his second day.

He continued this training without aura for fifteen days before including aura in his training routine as well.

Slowly but surely, Kaen's movements were becoming more and more refined with each passing day. His body became familiar to the movements that he practiced to the points that he could do them in his sleep.

Now, fighting with his trident was as easy as eating for him.

Like that, A month passed when Kaen felt that he was ready to move to the next step.

I should stop the training now, right now, the most urgent issue is increasing my strength further!

For that, I'll need to get a Primordial Elemental!

In my past life, I remember that someone found the lightning elemental in the forest located in the Antinia city.

Since it was the first Elemental to be found, The experience of the person who found it was pretty famous among the higher-ups of the empire.

It was only after the lightning elemental was discovered that the world came to believe in their existence, before that, the elementals were considered a myth!

Looks like I need to depart for Antinia tomorrow!
