Patrick watched keenly as she hurriedly went inside the old but structured building .
" So this is where she lives" He muttered beneath his breath leaning on his car. His eyes roved around the corners and width of the environment assessing it's flaws and looking out for any dangers, probably expecting another drunk man to emerge from nowhere. Sighing he followed her Sihoutte as she climbed the stairs, why the heck were there many stairs in the building and whatever happened to an elevator?? He thought irritated, he knew he had no right to condemn where she lives but he couldn't help being annoyed that she had so such a hard day today and still have to climb up some damn stairs and helping her was out of the equation because she would have refuted plus the way she had hastily gotten out of his car was enough to show him that his company was confining for her and the knowledge she couldn't wait to be away from him made his heart knot up in an uncomfortable way .
Sighing softly this time he stared hard at the dark room upstairs and wondered if she was asleep already, he told himself he should go home already after all it wasn't his business what she was doing at the moment but his feet remained rooted to the ground as though it had a mind of their own . Tsk tsk staying here all night wouldn't do at all he decided and moreover what if someone sighted him? Then he would be called a freak, glancing one last time at her window he got inside his car and drove home slowly knowing no one would be waiting for him at home nor would anyone keep a lamp burning like they did for kachi.

Contrary to Ayra and Alice thoughts on how Catherine would take the news of their plan to stay with Nana for some days, she had been really cool with it but when it got to the point of them leaving with Nana she had completely disarmed them when two fat balls of tears streamed down her eyes as she said her good bye.
" Don't worry my child they will be back soon" Nana consoled patting her head.
" Take care of them for me " Catherine muttered in reply.
" Nana please let's get going already " Alice urged eyeing Catherine squarely and walked towards Nana's car dragging ayra with her .
" You don't have to drag me I'm right after you " Ayra complained tugging her hands free from Alice's. This was the first time in a while she would be away from her mom and she had really wanted to say a proper good bye though she was still angry at her, but Alice ruined her chances by dragging her off.
" Don't be deceived by her tears ayra she just wants us to feel sorry for her " .
" But I feel sorry for her " Ayra stated slowly.
" That's her plan you fool, tell me what do you think she would be doing while we are gone?"
" Alice what's your point? " She questioned
" Well your dearest mother who you feel sorry for at the moment would continue having fun with her boyfri- " .
" That's enough Alice!!! " A voice thundered from behind them and it turned out to be Nana and for the first time her eyes weren't soft and all kind.
" I have given you my words already that man would never cross this house again and neither would your mom see him outside " She said sternly.
" Sorry Nana it's just I can't get past what I saw ,what we saw it's honestly upsetting " Alice said in a way of apology.
" I understand honey " Nana said getting into the car and the two girls did the same . " I wish you would be more kinder to your mother " She continued driving out of their lawns carefully and glancing at Alice through the rearview mirror.
" Your mom has gone through hardship for your sake and though it doesn't justify her actions but damn it, she's still your mom and one day you would understand her love " .
" Ptfff Nana you drive a hard argument alright let's hope I understand her one day but definitely not today " Alice said in a way of conceding.
" Yeah let's concentrate on getting safely to your house remember it's against safety measures to talk while driving " Ayra inputed cheerfully turning on the music.
" Here comes ayra with an interesting fact " Alice mutered groaning in consternation while Nana merely chuckled.
" So tell me girls what really happened in the excursion? " Nana questioned in a way of conversation but the look that passed between the two was intense but fleeting and before she could discern it , the look was gone and the only reply she got was a loud choursed " NOTHING " .
