Her train of thought was disturbed,
Xia Yu stiffened. She remembers that voice, that voice that sounds sweet but is laced with envy and contempt, that voice that brought tremendous pain to her in the end.
Yang Ling!!
"Yuyu where have you been? I've been looking everywhere for you" said Yang Ling
Xia Yu blinked her eyes to conceal the chill hidden deep within them. She turned around.
"Yang Ling"Xia Yu had a gentle smile on her face
Yang Ling was stunned, something changed about Xia Yu but she couldn't pin point it.
Shoving her suspicion down she smiled "where have you been? You weren't at school yesterday, professor Kang asked of you. Did your dad hurt you again, you should really consider moving out and avoiding his abuse."
Xia Yu sneered in her heart. Yang Ling spoke like she cared but the look in her eyes totally betrayed her.
" I do have thoughts of moving out but I don't have the heart" Xia Yu said looking conflicted
" Why don't you ask Brother Qin Bai for help, he loves you, he'll certainly help you. I'm here for you, I just wish I could do more but you have brother Bai now he can take care of you." Yang Ling said but deep down she was thinking something else entirely. Make a fool of yourself, let him know that you are weak and dependent on him, let him despise you.
" Ling you're so smart" How could Xia Yu not understand Yang Ling's intentions but two can play the game.
The two surface friends but secret enemies walked on the road together unaware of the eyes watching them with interest.
" Is this who my father wants me get married to? His taste is really disappointing" the owner of the eyes asked
" Not that one sir but the other" a man in Black pointed at Xia Yu

" You bitch where have you been" a vase crashed on Xia Yu's head causing her to bleed.
"I just took a walk" Xia Yu replied calmly as if she couldn't feel the pain
"You what's with that look, put down your head when I talk to you"Xia Junhao roared
Xia Yu obediently put her head down.
"Don't you know how long I've been waiting in hunger you wretched girl."
"I'm sorry, I'll go cook now"she walked in to the kitchen.
A few minutes later she walked out holding a bowl of steaming grilled beef and fried rice.
" I've taken care of u since you were a child, it time you repay me. The inlaws will be here in a week's time to discuss the marriage, so don't embarrass me."
After placing the food on the dining table, she glanced at the time. She rushed out of the house with her backpack.
Ten minutes of running she finally arrived at her destination "Cherry pavilion"
"You're late" Xia Yu was stopped immediately she walked into the staff quarters
She turned towards the voice.
"Gasp!! What the hell, are you trying to scare my customers with such a hideous look?"
Xia Yu remembered the injury she got from being hit by a vase but hadn't taken care of.
"I'm sorry Ms Ning, I'll go wash it off now" with that she went to the washroom.

Xia Yu stood in front of the washroom mirror, everything still felt novel to her. One minute she was in excruciating pain as the zombies gnawed on her flesh making her wish for nothing but death. Now she's back in time going through her regular routine, like nothing happened. It was really unimaginable, if she hadn't gone through it personally, she would never believe it.
She snapped out of her daze and began to wash the blood off her forehead. The washed blood trickled down her face to her neck. When she was done she wiped her face and walked out.

Her life has always been like this, she had bad luck where ever she went which was why when Qin Bai showed her his loving and doting nature she didn't care if it was fake or not, all she cared about was the fact that for once in her life is got something valuable, even if his love was false and full of deceit.
Finally the heavens looked down upon her with a smile and gave her a second chance. She was given an opportunity many people can only ever dream of.
Xia Yu looked up at herself in the mirror, she smirked.
This is the only chance I would ever get again, I'm not gonna waste it.

She walked out of the washroom and saw her boss Ms Ning talking to her staff, Xia Yu suddenly thought of something, she walked up to Ms Ning and called out to her.
Ms Ning turned around, when she saw Xia Yu's hideous and ugly appearance she revealed a look of disdain.
Xia Yu leered in her heart when she saw the look of contempt on Ms Ning's face, she hid the feelings in her heart and said with a pitiful appearance
"Ms Ning I'm sorry but I don't think I can continue to work here, there is a lot going on right now and I can't continue this job I'm sorry. Thank you for taking care of me during my time working here"
She bowed deeply and left Ms Ning standing there dumbstruck. She had always looked down on Xia Yu but she never expected her to suddenly quit her job.
Little did she know that after Xia Yu turned around her gaze was calm and determined.
Xia Yu walked with a straight back, after walking for a while she stopped and sat on a bench by the roadside. She was thinking of her next move.
According to her calculation, this was the second day of April, which means she has less the two months left before the apocalypse.
That gives her a lot of time to prepare for the apocalypse, but first, she needed to change her appearance.
Xia Yu stood up and walked towards a building window and for the first time she felt that people were not exaggerating when they told her she looked hideous.
Xia Yu shivered at the thought of how her younger self always thought that by purposely looking ugly people would pay less attention to her.
So this was her first thought, to take care of her appearance. Which woman won't bother about their appearance!!
