Chapter 3 - Chapter 1: Episode 2: Realization

After awaking once again, the familiar smells and sights fill my eyes. The fresh sent of flowers blooming right outside, the scent of dew fresh on the morning grass. My old cabin really was nostalgic.

[So if I'm getting this straight, this pocket watch activates right before I die sending me back in time to this exact date.]

As I stand up from my bed I head towards the door gearing up before I go, the creak of the old wooden door as I opened it. As the sun hit my eyes I squinted as if I had been in the dark all day.

[I might as well get back to training, there's nothing exactly important that happens today, it was just a regular Tuesday morning, Shit really wouldn't be going badly for a year or so. So I stayed up here preparing and training. ]

As I made it to the area I used to train at I see the open area in the midst of the trees, the vast variety of colors in the leaves of the each tree was magical. I've always felt calm in this place. In the middle of it all there was the one tree, an old beaten up tree with pink petals. It was covered in a bunch of my practice slashes. I always made sure to never go to deep as to not cut down this magnificent tree.

[I miss everyone dearly, we will meet again soon my friends. I'll make sure to find you all once again.]

As a unsheathed my sword I focused on my breathing, I could hear my heart beat slow. As i opened my eyes I swung my sword in a downwards motion just like I had thousands of times before. There's one thing that's different about training this time around, even if my body isn't quite as strong as it is in the future the development of my techniques is much better then it was back then. My technique focused more on speed over power, considering I never really had big muscles i decided to play to my own strengths. Thus I created my technique. "Rose Buds" was the name that me and my friends came up with, after all my sheath is covered with them.

[Such fond memories, they always used to joke and tease me about it after all, never thought I'd miss the everyday life, even hearing them call my name. Just hearing that again will be magical]

I continued training for the rest of the day into night, making sure to head back home before midnight. As I opened the door it creaked once again, and the familiar smells filled my nose once again.

[Throughout all my travels I always did miss this place, me and Flynn built it when we were kids, we always used to come up here to hid from our parents, or the boy he liked. It was always fun seeing him get embarrassed and run off. ]

I chuckled to myself. Never thought me of all people would reminisce about the "good ol' day" as people say. I sat down on my bed and placed my sword on the corner of it. I took a deep breath in and buried my face into my hands. The softness of my palms in comparison to the slightly formed calluses on the base of my fingers. I sighed and then laid down staring at the sky. Stars, planets all these things we never fully understood.

[This sucks, I have to wait until things happen again, I'm just repeating my life, I think I need a change. Since I used this time 6 years ago to develop my techniques, I can change my use of this time. Instead of wasting time I need to get a beat on the events that will happen in the future. I know the future and I know how things end. I need to use that information to aid my victory.]

As I was lost in thought I slowly drifted off to sleep. As the darkness engulfed me I knew there were no dreams to be had, nothing good would be played in my restless mind.

As I opened my eyes the next morning my nose was filled with the familiar smell my moms breakfast. As I looked around the room I saw my mom cooking in the corner. She looked at me and let out a giggle, it must have been because of the completely shocked look on my face.

drip, drip, drip... drip

I felt my face start to get wet, I didn't even realize I had started to cry. She quickly noticed and just like she always used to do she quickly ran over to me and rubbed her hand back and forth over my back. After a bit I had stopped crying, I really got to see my mom again.

[I missed you so much mom, I missed the way you smelt, the warmth you made me feel, its been 4 years since I saw you.]

My mom and dad had went missing after Saturn decided it was there time to help in the war. Lots of people died or were lost that day, mom and dad were just one of them.

As I look up at mom after clearing the tears in my eyes, I started to remember how young she used to look before the stress that came with the war. Her pretty long silky black hair, her purple eyes, her knit sweater that she always used to wear, covered in small little holes from various different things, and the little hair clip with a small little duck on it.

"Hi mom... sorry about that"

She paused before answering in a calm and quiet voice

"You look... different, what happened to your eye sweetie"

"Oh I... uhm accidentally damaged it using too much Yol in training."

"LeeLee.."

She looked at me with worry in her eyes.

"You know not to over use Yol... especially since you are still so young"

"I'm actually almost as old as you now mother, just about 4 years younger"

I said jokingly, mother stared at me for a sec before bursting out in her infectious laughter, it was one of those laughs that lit the whole room up like a sun on a hot sunny day.

{I missed her laugh so much, I'm glad to have a moment like this again. I'm truly grateful.]

"Oh shoot, breakfast is getting cold LeeLee you should eat, old people like us need food to get through the day" she laughed.

As I sat down at the table I looked out the small little window that sat slightly above the table, it was a gray day out, the sun was nowhere to be seen, but I couldn't be happier. I was finally able to eat breakfast with mother again.

Mother said she was going to stay for the week and then after head back down since father was getting back from the city. I told her that I would join her down the mountain because I needed to head to the city to pick some things up for the cabin. She agreed and when the time came next week we descended down the mountain.

"Are you ready to go LeeLee"

"Yes mother just need to grab my stuff"

I put my sword on my belt and my bag full off stuff on my back and then took one last look at my cabin before I left,

{Goodbye for now.}

"Lets go sweetie"

"Yes mom lets."
