Chapter 42 - The Freshmen Representative

I was flabbergasted while hearing the Director, my adoptive mother, calling me onto the stage to give a freshmen speech. I guess, this is the reason Uncle George asked about my rank as a yellow-light staged mage and my elemental attributes again and again.

"Hey man! They are calling you up there!" Gray stood up in surprise, pushing his chair aside. "Come on, man!" He practically dragged me from the stage as Ku barely held my body to prevent me from falling down.

"Gra--" Before I could say anything to him, he already had dragged me to the stairs near the main stage.

"Sighs" Guess I have no choice.

"Good Luck Man! Go out there and shake the students with your speech!" Gray said with a pretty excited face. Seeing his expression makes me want to kick his butt, so much for dragging me up here.

"I guess.....Sigh!"

I climbed up the main stage with Ku, who came and sat on my shoulder in a noble manner to face the students who were going to listen to my speech.

"He is Cute!"

"Wow! Is he really a guy?

"I wonder if he has any girlfriend!"

"Hot guy alert!"

"Is he related to the Director or something?"

"Must be a high class noble kid!"

"No way!"

Some words were hearable and some weren't. Well, the majority of the females from all the races who were applauding for me, as well as the boys, cheered involuntarily, as I could hear several of them with pissed-off looks.

"Hey! I'm going to challenge him and bring him to his knees!" and some very cool-pissed lines from a lot of people.

Well, I knew this would happen eventually, considering my looks, but I never thought it would be so soon. And I'm not opposed to accepting their challenges to defeat me. A sparring fight would also be a fantastic way for me to hone my combat skills.

The Director smiled as she signed with her eyes that I'm sure she is making me stand out much. I guess I should meet her after this ceremony gets over.

As the Director moved her stand behind me, witnessing how I will be doing with the speech. Ha, I've given a speech to more than tens of thousands of warriors before going to war, and even in the pedestal towards the people of the world, as I ensured to kill every last demon till I die, in my past life.

Now, in this life as Ryan Dainsleif, this would be my first stage. With my understanding of this world and magic as a foundation, I should be able to give one, so this should be easy.....I suppose.

"Let's do this!" I said to myself as I adjusted the sound mana-amplified magic crystal that was fixed on the podium, acting as the medium of sound to travel through the air, reverberating my voice all over the auditorium. With a quick "Erhm," I started my speech.

"---Let me introduce myself; I am the Freshman Representative, Ryan Dainsleif. Today, on this good day, I am truly glad to be watched over and to be welcomed by Madam Director, the honorable teachers, and fellow students, one and all---."

Whispers began to follow the mob once more. The audience was filled with various conversations about me, but for the girls, it was all about how much of a handsome young man I was, and for the males, it was a mix of admiration and envy.

Not to mention, I could practically hear Ku laughing in his thoughts while he sat like a military doll on my shoulders.

I sighed as I smiled at the audience and waited for the commotions to stop.

Getting bored, I startled the crowd with a quiet "Erhm" from the magic crystal in front of me. Just as everyone's attention was towards me again, I continued,

"I've learned a variety of things from my dad since I was a toddler. Regrettably, because I had grown up in the Magic guild of Luton, with my father, the guild master Samuel Dainsleif, I had no knowledge of the outside world. On that occasion, my Uncles advised that I attend the Central Academy and learn about the outside world while honing my skills--"

I can't say I was an adventurer at the age of eleven and dived into dungeons alone with my magical beast partner. I should tell the truth with some freshness right? So, I also added a pack of white lies if I say so myself...

"----When I came to Atlas City, my surroundings altered radically. I was even able to make some new friends. There will almost certainly be additional encounters during my time at the Academy. I can't help but be excited about it. What about studying? I'm sure some of you would like to ask me that, but it's my relationships with others that are significant and vital to me. That's why I think I'll probably be told to study later on. Of course, I have no plans to disregard my academics. I would like to be able to build a relationship with people I meet to the point where we can work hard together. No matter the race...we are all students and fellow comrades here, and we are now the prestigious Central Academy's students. So, I hope it will be a great honor and privilege for me to be able to make friends with everyone here.---"

"--That's why everyone, please do not leave me out just because I am always into magic and studying, okay? If you do that, I might end up crying.---"

Like hell, I will cry. But hey, the entire audience burst out laughing at those words. That's my flow of speech for you.

"--Please keep an eye on us, instructors and professors, and be tough with us...eh! when necessary. Current students a.k.a my seniors who would be hearing this from the rumors and whispers, even though we might be cheeky students or juniors, I ask you kindly, please don't bully us. Since we, as freshmen, will work hard to mature and spread our wings. So, for the upcoming years, please give us your guidance and support. Freshman Representative, Ryan Dainsleif.---"

"--Thank you! Thank you very much!---" And with that, I lowered my head and bowed in a noble manner.

A large wave of applause erupted unexpectedly. Thank god, the burden on my shoulders has finally been lifted even when I started with confidence.

"Phew!" What can I say, this was an on-the-spot speech. I couldn't help but sigh in relief.
