Chapter 54 - Showing my Full Abilities in the Three Cell Party together with the Goddess’ Excitement Brought Upon By Emmy

We resumed our exploration in the middle levels after seeing off the party that went before us called Gale Thunder. The ceiling of the wide space that is supposed to be the floor boss' area catches Sybilla's attention for an instant before she moves forward. I cast wind barrier once again as Emmy position herself in front as we proceed according to Sybilla's directions. We've only made quite a few steps on the bluish grounds when a whistling of an arrow blocked by the wind barrier resounded causing Emmy to raise her shield in caution. I look on the imposing yet reliable back of my childhood friend when Sybilla slapped my own back with everything she got. [Ugh… What do you want.] [I was just thinking that its time for you to show your true abilities!] [I'll mention it in case you forgot but my recovery magic as a saint aren't fake abilities…] [But this and that are two different things.] I can't help but sigh as Sybilla just shrugged her shoulders before I lower my sword. Emmy spared us a glance before returning her vision to the giganto in front of her as she used her hand to stop its descending giant club. With the giganto's movement restricted, Emmy then swings her sword down towards the gigantos wrist cleanly cutting if off with just a single slash. Emmy's shield then emitted a light causing the Giganto to be blown away before its separated arm landed on to the ground. She really is strong. To be able to cut off a giganto's thick dominant hand with just a single slash shows how precise her technique is and the tremendous strength behind that attack. However… I don't have any intentions to lose out! […e? Russell!?] Emmy flustered in surprise as a rear mage stood together with the vanguard making her raise her shield in front of me in a hurry. There's now quite a distance between us and the giganto that she had blown off, and together with the ability of the wind barrier to nullify the black goblin's arrow, there's nothing than can put us in anymore danger. –It's finally my turn. [] () I unleashed the magic I've used in Adoria's dungeon for how many times using my left hand. The giganto Emmy had blown off started to get up just at the right time the spherical magic made of dark mana made contact with it. The moment of impact then resulted to surge waves of dark mana over the wide area. [] Let's shoot another one for an immediate follow. Double casted as well, ofcourse. The waves of dark mana being produced by the sphere has the same power as dark arrows and this should take care of the black goblins that were able to survive the first wave. I've even double casted both of them. Being hit twice of that magic with twice the power should take care of the problem. [Detection, Sybilla?] [No movement detected. It's a complete wipe out. That was two dark spheres double casted so you basically casted four magics. You've worked hard.] [It isn't much. I can do still do a thousand of that.] […You're still so reckless with such absurd amount of mana as ever…] Sybilla then gave me her hand which is clenched on a fist where I return a fist bump. And there was Emmy who's just blankly staring at us. […What's wrong?] Emmy then immediately clenched her own fist and show it to me as well. I don't know why she's like that but I still gave her a fist bump. …A few seconds after, Emmy suddenly screamed in surprise. […!! Iyaiya!? What was that just now!? That black thing that seemed just exploded earlier!] . Me and Sybilla's eyes met as I turned to look at her after seeing Emmy's reaction. It's the first time Emmy saw me use my dark magic. I guess I can't blame her being surprised after all. . [I told you this beforehand but that's the dark magic attribute being used by the Dusk Magi. It has the ability to ignore the magical defenses of the enemy ensuring damage will be incurred to every enemy.] I just finished my explanation when Emmy who just heard what I said made a joyful expression and started to hop happily. [A-amazing! It's so amazing, Russell! You can now really use offensive magic!] [Yeah, didn't I tell you that already? And it appears that I have a really huge amount of mana which goes well with dark magic. With its ability to ignore defenses, it can pierce any enemy. That's why, Emmy, no matter who's our enemy, as long as you are protecting me, we'll be the one who will claim the victory.] [Un! I'll be counting on you!] Emmy is so happy as if she's the one who was granted the ability to use dark magic. Really… This feeling that someone appreciates and can be happy from the bottom of their hearts with regard to much I grow is really comforting. I will not be someone who is just meant to be protected from behind anymore. I can now protect Emmy as well by defeating the monsters coming at her. This is the ability, the power to be able to protect Emmy who's always been getting hurt for me, that I've always been longing for. I can say that, finally, we are now truly working together. I can't say how thankful I really am towards the power bestowed upon me by Sybilla. We've continued to go further and further down the dungeon. The numbers of monsters are increasing steadily with multiple gigantos and black goblins now appearing which sometimes include mages. Nonetheless, Emmy's defenses remain firm as she was able to keep an eye on every side of her surroundings. Emmy being able to catch Eve who only took an instant to stole my purse shows just how outstanding her visual abilities. Due to the wind wall's ability to deflect projectile attacks whether physical or magical, we were able to wipe the monsters clean as long as we can defend from the gigantos melees. Emmy deals with them quickly by blowing them off with her skill then me and Sybilla will launch offensive magic to thoroughly finish it. [Guoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!] Scream all you want but it will all be the same. Eat my magic. I can't just carelessly launch my magic though as I'm afraid I might hit Emmy. I have to make sure she isn't caught up with the waves of dark mana from the dark sphere as she'll definitely get hurt no matter how high her defenses are. [Are you alright?] [Un. Thanks!] I switch to dark javelin from time to time but nonetheless, we were able to clear every monster. We've made it into the ninth floor and the color of the gigantos now change into purple. [That one's like super strong. Be careful, Emmy-chan] [I understand. ] Emmy finished her preparations then took the hit from the purple giganto. [N….! Heavy…. But, I can do it…! Take this!] Emmy then used her skill which made her shield emit a light and blow the giganto up. It appears that the purple giganto isn't any that different with the green ones as they're both not able to resist her skill. [You're so cool, Emmy-chan! Yosh, we have to work hard too!] [I'll leave it to you!] Me and Sybilla then let out bombardments of magic towards the giganto with high spirits. The giganto sure has become stronger and durable but it isn't that much compared to the enemies that I've fought on the lower levels of Adoria Dungeon. [It sure has low defenses but stupidly absurd amount of health making this more annoying than usual.] [I see. Then the damage my magic brings isn't that different with Sybilla, huh.] [Yeah. The living armors are stronger than gingantos by normal means. However, in your case Russell, it is more natural for you to find the gigantos bulkier as you have no defenses to ignore in the first place.] Sybilla then looked at the sword Emmy holds in her right hand. [However, it's a different story against Emmy-chan as these gigantos who lack defenses are enemies she can fully take advantage off. As long as she can receive their attacks through her shield using one hand, she can attack them however she wants using the other. I allow you to beat them up to whatever means you want.] [Yes, leave it to me!] With Emmy's reliable words, we continue to go deeper than the ninth, now towards the tenth floor. A purple giganto with multiple bodies is the last monster we defeated with Emmy providing the biggest help. Thanks to it, the never changing feedback we were getting from monsters since the ninth floor has come to an end. [Wait a minute.] Sybilla stopped in front of a large metal gate before she started drinking a mana potion she took from her chest. [What's up?] […Nothing in particular. It's just that I am consuming more mana than usual so I want to drink and replenish it just in case. How about you Emmy? I still have stocks of potion in me.] [I haven't used anything else but defensive magic so my mana is still fine.] I guess I should have expected this to happen since we've been throwing offensive magic at my own pace. Or so I thought when I saw Sybilla glance at me. […Dark magic is twice as worse compared to fire magic that even though it's stronger, it should have cost ten times the amount of mana needed to cast a single magic. But Russell used more offensive magic than me while all being double casted. In addition to that are the Extra Heal Links' he's been casting after every skirmish… Just who in the world are you, really.] [An orphan from Adoria called Black Eagle Saint, Russell.] [I know at least that much… I'm just wondering how can there be such parents part away with such an amazing kid.] Hearing Sybilla's words made me and Emmy instinctively look at her then she suddenly claps her hands. [Well then, it's time to change gears. Ahead of us is the floor boss just so you know.] [Yeah. Any information about the enemy?] [It's a giganto. A red and more massive giganto. But the black goblins that are lurking from its left and right could be a problem so me and Russell will be dealing with them first. Okay?] [Okay.] The three of us nod towards each other before we made our first step towards the floor boss with Emmy on the lead. There's a really big red giganto in front of us. Gigantos are inherently massive but this one is just much more bigger compare to the purple one we defeated earlier. The giganto remains to be carefree with a huge club on its right hand upon confirming our presence. Then, there are the black goblins lurking as Sybilla had predicted. A black goblin holding a cane is looking on our direction and started to raise its weapon but before you can do that—! […] (….)] I'll shower you first with spheres using alternate casting that I've been mastering all this time with both of my hands! Knowing where are the enemies just let me finish them off easily. Emmy then… is resting her shield? [You're so cool, Russell…! You were incredible enough when you're still just a Saint but being able to use offensive magic at this level is really amazing…! I… I'll not be good enough at this rate! I'll be stronger too so I can stand next to you, Russell…!] Emmy then look closely to the club in the gigantos hand until it swings it down on to her and at the moment it reached her… She deflected it to the side. [Hya!] [–!] (Floor boss Giganto) The sudden change in direction left the massive floor boss' body momentarily unbalanced. And ofcourse, Emmy isn't the type who will let go of such chance. Aiming on that thick arm that's holding the gigantic club, she used all of her strength and have the dragon sword clad in bluish light slash down. [GROOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!] [It worked…! It works!] Emmy then started to chip the floor boss from there as she deflects its attacks, dodging some of it from time to time, while keeping on giving damage to it using her other hand. [Emmy-chan isn't just sturdy but is also very agile, isn't she!? A heavy tank who can maneuver and evade is just OP!] It appears that Emmy's excitement even infected Sybilla. But that's really amazing, Emmy. I don't think I was able to make Sybilla this excited, no? You're really dazzling. But… I will not let you carry all the burden anymore. I'm really proud to be your childhood friend. [Russell, we can't just lose to Emmy! With a target this big, go and let it eat all offensive magic you can give!] [Roger that! !] Me and Sybilla kept on firing off offensive magic but the floor boss isn't taking its eyes off from Emmy even after we hit its head several times. It must have known. That once he does, Emmy will cut him off. The Giganto showed signs of slowing down and after a bit more, it slipped on its foot and as it fell down, it met Emmy's sword head first and was skewered. [Ah, I leveled up!] Emmy's words made it clear that we were able to successfully have the floor boss subjugated. [Yosh, yosh! What an outstanding victory! It's much better than our previous fight!] I can't help but get curious about what Sybilla just said so I tried to ask her clearly. [Previous? Have you been here before, Sybilla?] [I talked about this before when you asked about the dungeon's structure, right? It's one of the previous Dark Magi but it didn't turn out well. Even though he was so fine before he died–!] Sybilla's starting to talk about my predecessor Dark Magi when she suddenly stopped with her eyes wide open. Emmy who just made her way back to us got curious with Sybilla's sudden change and look towards the direction Sybilla is facing. What's there is…! [How splendid! The shine on that beautiful sword can't be anything but mithril, correct!? Oh, how luxurious! How gorgeous! Such combination of luxury and beauty! Splendid, splendid!!] Red eyes and a dark silhouette. A unique appearance that I will never forget. At the stage where the middle level floor boss ends, the demon lord appears.
