— [Dusk Magi] Level 11 – I do know that it's just a few days since I had one but it feels like the last time I heard this voice had been a long while. […It went up. I'm level 11 now.] [Ah, perhaps you've learned splash, no?] [Yep.] Sybilla made a guts pose after I reported my level up and started to explain what the new magic is about. It seems to be an offensive magic of which dark mana spreads for an instant in an extensive wide area with the power similar with dark arrow. [This should have a wider effect than that of the dark sphere, huh.] [That is the case. However, we won't know if it really is just as strong as dark arrows with your double casting. Double casting should improve the area of effect too so I'm looking forward seeing yours, Russell.] [As for how I can use it against the next boss.] [It will work wonders. The blue giganto isn't the type to draw close against opponents so as long as you keep your distance together with Emmy to defend for you and attack from afar then I am sure we'll be able to defeat it.] I think i just heard something really good. I look towards Emmy and nod. [With that being the case, then I'll crush the floor boss accordingly. I'm counting on you.] [Leave it to me! I actually think that the middle level floor boss is harder to cut and kill compared to a long range type floor boss of the upper levels!] Sybilla then started to laugh hearing the confident words that came from Emmy. [Ahahaha for such a cute girl to say things like cut and kill a giganto so simply, and being actually capable to do so, it's hilarious yet amazing, isn't it?] Sybilla's face as she laughs does not have any hint of annoyance or irritation and alike when we've first talked about the floor boss of the lower levels. [I really feel so light right now coming this far! Let's keep this pace and aim for the floor boss then!] I can feel my excitement increase as I hear Sybilla's confidence as well. I don't think we can do things lightly but I'm sure there will be no problems. I immerse myself in this exciting tension as we descend towards the next floor. Fourteenth floor, then fifteenth… There isn't much difference between them except that the numbers of monsters are increasing but we're able to manage without any problems. There's a goblin mage which blasted us with a high level of magic but thanks to Wind Barrier, it's offensive powers were reduced and the injuries it caused isn't strong enough to instantly kill us. Then there's Emmy's magic coating too which boasts superb defensive powers the offensive magic didn't even reach her. Conquering the lower levels was never easy. But, I think this allowed us to understand what each other's abilities can be used to get an advantage against different situations and opponents. I who wields dark and recovery magic. Emmy who is an evasive and defensive specialist with offensive abilities. Sybilla who can use fire and earth magics… Well, perhaps she still has others under her sleeve that I don't know. But above all of those is her ability to provide immediate instructions and decisions. Getting an understanding and confirmation of each one's abilities allowed us to improve our cooperation and synergy. And the experience of being able to put our team efforts into practice is the most important thing. All of these plus the factor of the significant numbers of monsters which provided ample amount of experience points, all of us have increased our levels. […Well then, it should be around here.] Sybilla holds two mana potions and gives one to Emmy. [Russell, I'll check with you in case but you're good to go without this, right?] [Yeah.] Emmy's who uses two defensive magic and drinks the mana potion. [Alright, let's confirm things again. At the back of this door lies a larger black giganto which wears armor. It won't show any signs of movement at the beginning but we should never let our guard down. For attacks that will pass through our defenses and hit Russell, I'll have you Emmy-chan to just bear with it.] Emmy widened her eyes in surprise for a moment before her expression once again got serious and hardened. [I know it will be hard for such a gentle Holy Knight as you, Emmy-chan to see Russell get hurt but… I want you to endure and believe in Russell. If the floor boss started to aim for us mages at the back then… That might as well be our end.] [un! I understand…!] Emmy raises her brows imagining the worst that can happen then Sybilla starts to pat her head. [It will be fine, because of you Emmy-chan, Russell made it this far without being seriously hurt and besides, Russell is so sturdy that he will live even after being hit by a dragon as long as he can still breathe. He is so persistent he survives better than a cockr—that hurt!?] [Perhaps you thought I'll let those words slide, huh…] I chopped Sybilla and… I just can't help myself to smile a little knowing that we can banter as usual even in this kind of situation. Sybilla who seems kind of nervous looks at me and chuckles as well. [Un, it will be alright, you know. We're aware of the things Russell is capable of, right?] [Yeah. We'll give them a taste of my newly learned dark magic.] [We're counting on you.] I nod my head then Emmy opens up the door and enters now to the room of the floor boss–! –I don't have the right words to describe the fear brought upon by the scenery we witness beyond the door. [He….That guy… We've been had!] There are numerous of them nearby. The blue gigantos. The upper level floor boss capable of long range attacks. …However, contrary to our expectations, they're the one wearing armors. There's also another huge giganto over the distance. And that giganto is the creepiest of them all. –A blue humongous giganto. And like the other blue gigantos, mana is whirling up on its hand in preparation of launching magic as it looks over us from a distance. [For the floor boss to change even though it was all previously fixed before…!] The floor boss of the lower levels, and all of the monsters with it, has strengthened.
