The guardian stilled, shocked to stupor at the feel of its beating heart penetrated with the sharp steel of the arrowhead.
Though she had willingly stabbed the creature, Celestiel felt fear. Fear for its life and fear of killing it.
She felt her stomach somersault and she had to fight back the urge to double over and vomit.
She took a deep breath, and with much difficulty, began twisting the arrow in her hands.
The guardian let out a loud, tortured bleat that echoed through the forest, his body losing its strength and it lowered to the floor.
For a moment, fear and sadness gripped Celestiel's heart and she paused, fearful of the thought of the Keeper lying to her.
But that thought of doubt quickly disappeared when the guardian spoke.
"You nasty creature! I am immortal! You can not kill me!," it growled through its pained grunts. "I have no idea how you survived my arrow by you will not live long, human!"
