Chapter 10 - Library

Azkar woke up in the morning with a refreshed mood. After taking a shower and dressing, he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror. He wore a white shirt paired with black pants, complemented by a long coat. His slightly long blond hair was neatly tied in a single ponytail, and his green eyes harmonized perfectly with his overall appearance.

Catching a glimpse of himself in the mirror, he couldn't help but appreciate how good he looked. With a smile, he decided to head over to the city library, excited about gathering Data for his Codex [ Data bank in his consciousness ].

Because the more data he has in his databank, the more information he'll be able to access. In everything he does, he'll need data, and the library is full of books filled with information. He just has to scan them. If someone overheard his thoughts, they'd probably lose it. The city library has data from over 500 years—huge. But he's like, "I'll just scan through it, no big deal."

Reaching the city library, not too far from his place, he paid the fee at the counter with a smile. Entering the library, he was all set for his data-gathering mission. He grabbed a bunch of books and found a quiet spot in the library. He knew if people saw him staring at pages with just his eyes, they might think he's weird or bothering everyone. He just wanted to gather info into his databank without causing a fuss.

He began to scan the books with fast speed, flipping pages. Right now, he was using his [analysis ability] because he cannot use [Data Absorption Authority] in this case. If he does that, the book will turn into data, and it will disappear. Then, here came trouble.

In his first attempt, he scanned 200 books because it didn't cause any problems, and no one saw him as he was sitting in a corner of the library. This allowed him to scan this many books in 2.5 hours. It's not that he can't scan more books; he has to play it safe because, no matter how careful he is, he can't avoid attention. So, he takes books from time to time to prevent people from suspecting him.

Then, as he was about to leave the library, he heard a notification from his System:

[You have collected 200 books of data.]

[Your information in the data bank has increased tremendously.]

[You gain the title of Living Data Bank.]

[Your affinity with knowledge has increased tremendously.]

[ System has met the conditions to update itself.]

[ System will take one day to update.]

..."

He didn't know what to say in this bizarre situation; he was truly at a loss for words this time. When he was creating this system, he never thought it would turn out like this. However, it's fortunate that everything went well. Additionally, this system will advance with him; it's a part of him. So, when the system uses his abilities, his abilities will be upgraded by default. Then, he began to laugh like crazy."

Hey, you're freaking crazy! Go laugh outside; this is a library, idiot," someone said to Azkar.

Snapping out of his erratic behavior, Azkar noticed a middle-aged man who appeared to be the library manager. Since he had to come daily to scan books, Azkar realized he had to apologize. He processed everything instantly because his brain's processing power wasn't just for show; he used it on a daily basis.

"I'm sorry for the disturbance," he said.

"Young lad, you seem to be from a Noble family. Please behave yourself." After saying this, the man went inside the library to do his job.

Embarrassed by his behavior on the first day in the library, Azkar went outside. He thought about checking the details of his title but found that System had shut itself down for its upgrade.

After leaving the library, his stomach began to hurt because he hadn't eaten anything since morning. He headed straight towards a nearby restaurant and found one that was popular, a place he recognized from Armin's memories.

After entering the restaurant, he sat at a table to the side to avoid any trouble. His extensive reading of novels, now part of his [data bank], allowed him to remember every single word accurately. Accessing the data passively and instantly, he aimed to stay away from any young master-type drama. Aware of his current limitations, he recognized that he wasn't strong enough to protect himself. Thus, until he became stronger, he decided to sacrifice his present loot.

"Waiter, please give me a non-vegetarian breakfast with 2 bottles of milk, also with lots of water to drink," he said in a single breath.

People from the nearby bench looked at him as if they saw an idiot, but judging by his clothing and aura, he might be from a noble family, so they said nothing in front of him.

"Yes, young master, please wait. I'll deliver your order to your table in 5 minutes," one of the girl waiters blushed slightly and said.

But judging by the guy's behavior, he did not understand. There's nothing to be shocked about in this situation because, in Azkar's eyes, everything can be two things: first was loot, which was reserved for his enemies, and second was numerical data. Yes, he thinks very nobly because he sees everything as numerical data. So, he believes in equality at a higher level, where in his eyes, every living being is equal, regardless of what they look like or what species they are from.

"Yes, please," he said with a smile.

Because he did not understand what the girl was trying to say, the waiter got slightly annoyed. She had never seen a boy so dense.

After he had his breakfast, he paid and also gave a tip to the waiter because he considers himself a gentleman. It's necessary for him because, for Azkar, money is not a problem. People here use a digital credit system, so he can always transfer data into his card to change his balance. However, it requires Origin Points, and he refrains from doing so because Origin Points cannot be used for this purpose; it would result in too much loss.

He can literally change his mana, strength, and other attributes with Origin Points, so using them for money would be an immense loss. However, once he gets stronger, loot will come on a daily basis because there are many good guys in this city who will throw themselves at my feet to become loot.

On the way to his house, he was thinking about the information he got from the library, which was the ranking system of this world, most likely used by humans. It was mostly similar to what he thought about it, where F rank is the lowest, and S rank is the highest. The upper levels must be hidden from the general public, so he thought about it thoroughly after he began to review the ranking system.

[F Rank] - Requires attribute points between 0 and 50. It also requires a skill at least at the F rank.

[E Rank] - Requires attribute points between 50 and 100. It also requires a skill at least at the E rank.

...

[S Rank] - Requires attribute points between 300 and 350. It also requires a skill at least at the S rank.

However, there's a problem with this ranking list. First, humans invented a technology, which was a black bracelet-type watch. Azkar found out about it when he came to this world. With this watch, humans can see their attributes, and with training and hard work, they can improve their attributes, which was difficult without proper training methods.

The second problem is that awakened abilities can also advance with proper training, but it's a challenging thing to do. So, most humans face this problem when they want to advance to the next level, where two conditions must be met for advancement.

• Attributes condition: If you want to advance from F Rank to E Rank, then all your attributes must be at least 100.

• Ability or skill condition: This is a challenging aspect for a normal person to upgrade. To advance to the next rank, you must improve your ability or learn a skill from others corresponding to the next Rank. For example, going from [F Rank] to [E Rank] requires an [E Rank] ability or skill.

When he saw this information for the first time, he was shocked because these must be the reasons why humans are at the bottom of the food chain. There are many other reasons; not everyone can access proper training methods or education for Rank Advancement. This is worse than he thought, but it has nothing to do with him. I'll reach [S Rank] first, then I'll create my own power system.

After some thinking, he came to the conclusion that he needs loot and lots of data, which he can get from the library. However, he needs loot, so it's time to meet some good guys who will become my loot source. He sat on his bed and began his detailed analysis of the 200 books he scanned from the library.
