Agraz looked around. All he could see were waves and waves of zombies. There was not an end to it. Now, someone might wonder how those slow zombies could surround Agraz, who is a lot more agile and nimble than before. However, Agraz knew the answer.
I overlooked the zombies that had gathered as a result of my outburst, lost in my reverie. The next time, I should find a quiet spot for my evolution.
Well, now that they're all here, I might as well test my newfound abilities.
With this thought in mind, Agraz brandished his claws. He sprinted towards the zombie horde and slashed at an unfortunate zombie's neck. His claws cleaved through the zombie's neck easily, leaving only a clean cut behind. The zombie's head had gone flying off.

[You have obtained 2 Origin Points!]
The moment Agraz attacked, all the zombies came swarming in.
"Grahh..."
"Grahhh..."
"Grrrr..."
The zombies made a cacophony of horrendous noises. It looked like a scene straight from a horror movie.
Hmm... So the zombies will attack me if I attack first. I don't think they would have reacted this way if I was still a zombie. After all, when I killed zombies before, the others would either ignore me or simply gather around due to the noise. They didn't outright attack me before.
It means that they will usually ignore me, as I am also an undead. However, they will start attacking as long as I initiate the attack first, since I am not a zombie anymore.
Amidst these thoughts, Agraz started butchering the zombies around him. A swipe at the neck was all it took to take down a zombie.

The zombie attacks were easy to dodge, as they only attacked with their bloody mouths. Additionally, a zombie's body was severely damaged, making agile movements impossible. They also didn't have any coordination, as they solely relied on their instincts to fight.
Actually, the most deadly aspect of a zombie is their infection, which works solely on living things. However, that was as useless as a pebble rolling down the road against Agraz, who was a higher-level undead himself.
Whenever Agraz attacked, heads were sent flying off. After killing tens of zombies, he realized that the piling corpses were limiting his actions. Thus, he moved around while slashing with his razor-sharp claws.
Agraz went around, decapitating the zombies. Suddenly, he tried to pierce a zombie's heart to test the zombie's vitality. His claws pierced straight through the zombie's front and through the back, with a bloody heart caught in his claws.
Agraz raised his brows in astonishment at the sharpness of his claws as well as the zombie's vitality, as it still didn't stop moving and bit at his right shoulder.
Agraz used his other claw to decapitate the zombie as he made some distance from the horde. He looked at his shoulder, where there was only a shallow bite mark with some black blood flowing. The bite mark also closed soon and the blood stopped flowing.
Its bite couldn't deal considerable damage to me due to my compressed muscle tissues. If I had the Hardening skill, its teeth probably wouldn't be able to pierce even my skin.
At this moment, a zombie came running at him. It looked different than the other zombies. It did not have any wounds on its body. It was also a head taller than the others. Its three-inch nails were gleaming with a deadly sparkle. It sprinted towards Agraz and slashed at him.
Agraz was surprised. He bent his back just in time to avoid the zombie's slash and went straight for its neck. His claws swiftly severed the abnormal zombie's head.
[You have slain a Level-5 Zombie!]
[You have obtained 5 Origin Points!]
[You have leveled up!]
[You have obtained 3 Skill Points!]
What was that? A mutation? Or something else? Its nails were also unusually long and looked sharp. The Slash skill? It also didn't have any wounds and was abnormally fast.
Maybe it also has the Regeneration and Dash skills. That means zombies could also acquire skills.
That's right. Zombies must be capable of acquiring skills if they are able to have levels. If we follow this thought it means that all entity have a certain level. They also level up and acquire skills. This changes everything...
Amidst his reverie, Agraz went around slaughtering the zombies.

It took him ten minutes of relentless slashing to kill every last zombie. There were no other abnormals like the Level-5 zombie.
There was blackish-red blood and litters of corpses all across Agraz. He stood there expressionless in the midst of the sea of corpses. Blood stained his arms a dark scarlet color.
Hmm... I should have at least killed hundreds of zombies. Even after fighting for a full ten minutes, my body doesn't feel any exhaustion.
However, even after I killed all these zombies, I only leveled up a few times. It should be since I've evolved and the quantity of experience points required for leveling up has risen as well. It's also possible that killing a lower race grants a small amount of experience points.
On the other hand, the quantity of Origin Points seems fixed for each being.
System.

I am only level 5 after killing hundreds of zombies. It looks like the more I evolve, the more it is difficult will the next evolution become.
Sigh.
After heaving a silent sigh, Agraz inspected the skill menu.
[Skill Menu:
Dash (5 Skill Points) : Increases velocity along a straight line.
Screaming (5 Skill Points) : Your screams will always invite hordes of zombies.
Hardening (5 Skill Points) : Hardens your skin and increases the defensive ability of the body.
Seduction (15 Skill Points) : The ability to confuse a living being. The target will view you as a trustworthy and charming individual and follow your commands.
Skill Points: 15]
After thinking for a while, Agraz acquired the Dash, Screaming and Hardening skills. He did not have any use for the Seduction skill, as he did not encounter a single living being after reincarnating in this world.
[Congratulations, you have obtained Skill: Dash!]
[Congratulations, you have obtained Skill: Screaming!]
[Congratulations, you have obtained Skill: Hardening!]
Agraz's legs became a little taller, and his skin became unusually hard. He also felt a shift in his vocal cords.
After acquiring the skills, he left the battle scene. He found a coffee shop around the road and went inside. After entering the coffee shop, he moved all the furniture aside and sat on the floor.
Evolve.
[The requirements for evolution has not been fulfilled]
Hmm?
Agraz frowned at the unexpected message. However, after thinking for a while, he understood the reason.
I have fulfilled the condition of Origin Points, but it looks like I still haven't reached the certain level required for evolution. So, I need to level up further.
If the required level for evolution is ten, then I will need to kill a few hundred zombies again. If it is more, then I will probably need to butcher thousands of zombies.
Sigh.
I wonder how many experience points will a human provide. Maybe I should actively try to look for humans.
At this moment, Agraz did not know that some humans were trying to figure out his whereabouts.

In a white room, people in white coats were looking at a large display screen. On the display, a video was playing.
It was footage of zombies fighting. However, the zombies were not fighting against one another. They were fighting against a lone scrawny figure that was killing all the zombies around with a swipe of its claws.
It was Agraz.
The video stopped at the moment when Agraz decapitated the Level-5 zombie.
A middle-aged man in a black suit spoke to the others, "Gentlemen, this is the specimen that killed the Alpha in Area F-32. It looks like a different kind of mutation than the ones we have seen before. Comparing it with our database, we reached the conclusion that this is a new mutation. Our men are already on the way to capture this specimen for further studies. Any questions?"
Another middle-aged man in a lab coat asked, "What is its code name?"
The man in the black suit replied, "The Rampager."
