I cautiously followed Sean, and it appeared that he was aware of my emotions. He matched my walking pace as a result. He gave me some time to get ready to deal with all of my emotions in my heart.
We walked slowly towards the dining room where my parent in law have been waiting. When I entered the dining room, I saw a dignified man with a face similar to Sean's and hair that appeared to be greyish but still looked handsome and dashing sitting next to an elegant middle-aged woman who still looked beautiful despite her young age.
The woman came up and gave me a tight hug as soon as she saw me with warm eyes, saying, "Ohh.. we're pleased you're okay, Dear. Katelyn, don't be afraid. All of us are here to help you. Everything will work out fine. We'll work through each of these issues together."
I merely stayed silent, just like I used to when I was surprised, because I didn't anticipate an embrace. Looking at the man in front of me, who had a pleasant smile on his face, I instantly tried to calm myself.
Sean remained standing next to me and held my hand, relieving my anxiety. After a while, the woman let go of her embrace.
"You can call me Mommy Sara. Your husband is my biological son. That's Daddy Justin, can you see his resemblance to Sean? Without a doubt, Sean is his biological son." she said.
Her joke brightened the mood. I laughed a little, then nodded and greeted them. Sean drew my hand to the table. " Let's eat first and then we'll chatting."
We all sat down at the table and began eating, interspersed with some small talk. I appreciate how they treat me well. After finishing our meal, we went to the park and relaxed until late at night, telling stories about everything from the past. They also decided to stay with us for a few days because they think we'll need to spend time more together.
The second day they stayed with us, once again Sean and I were all surprised by Uncle Sam and Aunt Jen, who announced my parents' arrival at our house. My parents were said to be waiting in the living room. Sean met them right away with his parents, and he wouldn't let me meet them until he explained to them what had happened to me.
Actually, I was curious what they were like. How would they interact with me? However as my obedience toward my husband, I just did what Sean has instructed. I waited patiently in our bedroom. Sean entered our room, approached me who was sitting on the sofa, and sat beside me. He sighed, taking care to explain to me that my parents didn't think He was telling the truth. He believed that when they saw me in person, they would accept what had happened to me. That's why he asked me to meet them. As we walked up to my parents, I nodded and requested him to hold my hand. I felt a warm hand take hold of my hand, and my anxiety subsided.
A woman rushed to hug me tightly as soon as we entered the living room. "Katelyn, are you all right? We miss you terribly."
"Are you my mother?" I inquired.
A man sitting next to Justin's father stood up and approached me right away. "Come on, Katelyn, don't joke," he exclaimed.
"And you are my father?" I inquired once more. The woman released her hug and looked me in the eyes. When she saw my eyes that were telling the truth and turned to face the man who was approaching me, she was shocked. "She really doesn't know who we are," he admitted.
That man gripped my shoulders gently and looked into my eyes, searching for the truth. They were surprised and perplexed to learn that I didn't know them.
"What Sean told us is true," Mommy Sara interjected. " When she awoke, she couldn't even remember her own name. Sean, your son in law was taken aback too when he discovered his wife had amnesia. " Mommy Sara explained to the man.
"Whatever happens to her, I still love my wife," Sean said as he drew closer to me. "There's no need for Daddy Albert and Mommy Laura to be concerned. We'll be fine. I'm not concerned with the past. What matters to me is our future. We will make new memories together."
After realizing what had occurred, Daddy Albert and Mommy Laura sighed together. Seeing their puzzled expressions, I took both of their hands in mine and motioned for them to sit. "Even though I have no recollection of anything, I am still your child." We can start from the beginning now. As Sean and other people who are involved in my life have become memories for me. They told me everything that had happened in the past so that I would no longer feel empty. When I first developed amnesia, I felt as if a part of me was missing. "But hearing their stories about the past, the empty part of me started to feel less," I went on to say.
"Yes darling, of course you are still our child and we still love you," my parents said as they hugged me together. We'll make it through this together. We will also live on in your memory." They both hugged me tightly, and I hugged them back. My heart is now filled with a warm feeling. After what happened in the living room, Papa Justin invited us into the garden to continue our conversation while relaxing.
Daddy Albert and Mommy Laura eventually decided to stay overnight to spent the time more with me and to be closer to me just like Daddy Justin and Mommy Sara. We passed the days, our parents decided to return to their respective homes as our relationship grew stronger and we agreed that we would gathered on weekends.
