Chapter 57 - Loan Shark Contracts

"See through, really see through. Don't hit, don't hit Li."

Lumik slumped on the stairs with a swollen nose, begging vaguely for mercy.

Li Si flicked the ash on his shoulder.

This guy looked tall, but in the end he was knocked down in less than two strokes, and he still wanted to fight him with this?

Lumik did not dare to speak, lying on the ground and pretending to be dead.

The door slammed shut.

After a long time, Lumik only hard to get up, feel the brain buzzing.

He spat out a mouthful of bloodied saliva.

This dog thing, his hands were really hard. Although he himself didn't want to stay his hand ...

He held onto the wall and limped down the stairs.

Someone happened to pass by and was startled by the dusty and bloodied gringo. Others asked Lumik if he needed help, all of which he shook his head no.

In this state, if he went to take the bus, someone would probably call the police, and then he would surely face endless questioning.

But he didn't have the money to take a taxi. So Lumik could only move back to his basement one step at a time, a full two hours' walk for a half-hour journey.

The basement smelled damp and musty.

This was because the gasket of the water pipe in the corner was rusted and kept seeping sewage out.

It was a smell Lumik had long been used to.

He struggled to climb onto the plank bed and lay down, letting out a sigh of relief.

He couldn't lie down for too long, the corner of his forehead was still bleeding and he had to bandage it quickly.

So after resting for about half an hour, he got up and looked for the medical kit.

All that was in the box, however, was half a roll of yellowed bandages. Lumik then remembered that the painkillers had all been taken and swapped with the cripple next door for alcohol.

"holy..."

He had to lie down again, picking up a bottle of bad whiskey in the process.

Ton ton ton ton~

The rough tasting spirits flowed into his stomach and Lumian's brain went into a trance.

Over the past few months, he had drunk countless bottles of spirits.

If he continued like this, he was afraid that he would either die of a stroke or acute kidney failure.

But Lumik didn't care. Every time he got drunk, he could briefly forget those damn memories.

Otherwise, when he closed his eyes, he couldn't help but think of his father's obnoxious, stupid face.

"Luke, you can't even shoot me? There are no such cowards in the Miyan family."

He remembered the look in his father's eyes when he said that, surprised and contemptuous.

"Put the gun up, yes, and hold it tight. Aim for the head ... heart as well."

"All right, pull the trigger and the money is yours. This is a stranger, you don't even know her. Pull the trigger, blow her head off, and then you can take the money and dash off anywhere you want."

"What are you saying? You don't want to do that?"

"Punk."

The voices faded as the spirits were poured into his mouth in one gulp.

Lumik, or rather Luke Miyan's consciousness gradually fell into darkness, feeling a long-lost peace.

I wish I could just keep it like this ...

However it was not to be.

A cold, piercing sensation suddenly struck him, and at the same time, he was hit hard in the abdomen.

Lumik fiercely coughed loudly, spitting out all the stock in his stomach.

His mind suddenly cleared up a bit, as if a drowning man had managed to poke his head out of the water.

Lumik's eyes widened.

He realised he was hanging upside down from the ceiling.

Not far away, a large and a small figure sat on the edge of the bed. The larger one questioned, "Does this really sober you up?"

The smaller one looked confident, "Yeah! When I upset them in the beginning, they would hang me upside down to make me [sober up]."

This has nothing to do with sobering up, does it! Lumik yelled in his mind.

But the more he tried to speak, the harder his trachea became, "Cough, cough, cough ..."

"Ooooh! I can't believe it!"

The big one exclaimed, "But why do I feel like he's choking to death?"

"Cough cough cough cough!" (You're fucking right!)

The other guy beat Lumik painfully in the abdomen, trying to make him spit out the wine. But the technique was too rough and some liquid got into his windpipe.

He now felt difficulty in whistling and his eyes were starting to roll back in his head.

Just when Lumik really thought he was going to die this hilarious death, the rope wrapped around his feet came loose. He was extricated with seven hands and thrown on the bed.

Lumik quickly rolled over and sat up, gasping for air, all wet.

When he got a good look at Li Si and Mei, he was so close to pulling out the gun in his locker and disliking them both in the face.

"You almost killed me ..."

Li Si interrupted him, "You almost killed yourself."

He picked up Lumik's unfinished drink, there was still some residual liquid in the bottle.

Pulling out a lighter, he ignited it and with a loud bang, the fire shot up at least thirty centimetres.

"Where did you buy the wine from? This person's heart is dark enough, it's the 21st century and you're still mixing methanol into alcohol, you're lucky you didn't lose your eyesight."

Lumik froze for a few seconds and put his hand over his face.

Dead cripple ...

Really walked on the ghost gate once, in order to feel that penetrating cold. Lumik covered his face and suddenly something clicked.

He went to the kitchen, washed his face, and came back to stand across from Li Si.

"I'm done with you." He said decisively.

Lumik had figured it out.

Getting himself drunk to death would only make driving him to kill his psychopathic dad happier.

Might as well find a boss here, make some money, and get on with his life.

"Now that I'm in, tell me, what kind of work do we do?"

Lumik sat down in a big horse.

"Intelligence dealers? Consultants? Or convoys of cargo? If it's a convoy, I've got a couple of friends who drive trucks that could probably help."

He'd had all sorts of guesses about Li Si's identity, but hadn't been able to get much of a handle on it. It just struck him that the man's aura was somewhere between homicidal maniac and mafioso.

Li Si froze, "I'm filming, are you misunderstanding something?"

Lumik frowned, he had studied the black words in China, but none of them seemed to correspond to "filming".

Just as he was about to ask further, Mei handed over his mobile phone.

On the screen was the encyclopaedia of [Actor Li Si].

Lumik took the phone with a confused face and scrolled down, "Crystal Lake Murderer", "The Great Thief Gun" ... At the end of the picture there was also a photo of Li Si and Liu Jinsheng. The two hooked shoulders and backs, and their smiles were both very bright, as if they had an adulterous relationship.

The photo is accompanied by an interview.

[Li Si: You asked me the meaning of actor? I think everyone has a different answer to that question, but for me, I'd love to bring laughter and truth and beauty to the world].

Lumik began to ponder.

He had all been mentally prepared to follow Li Si into the black world of blood and rain ...

As a result, you suddenly changed your style and became like this? Still talking about laughter and true beauty?

Truly see the Christ ghost of Jesus!

"So I have to go with you as an actor ..."

"Wrong!" Li Si pulled out a couple of contracts as if by magic, and a pen.

"Here, sign the contract. You'll be the full-time bodyguard of [Fung Soo Acting Company], a gold-medal hitman, a doorman by the way, and finally a signed artiste."

Lumik looked at the dense contract provisions.

He suddenly remembered when he was a child in his hometown in Ireland, his own brothers forced a grocery shop owner to sign a loan shark that he could not afford to pay back for the rest of his life.

"Sign it as soon as you think about it, I still have to find a prop master for the crew this afternoon." Li Si urged.
