The night did not seem to end. The pheromones permeated the room between the omega and the monster. He did not care that she did not want him, or that I was in the room. The monster would not stop. He acted like he was in rut. The poor omega kept quiet, not asking for anything, but the heat and fear allowed the Alpha to control.
At one point he pulled her over to my cage laughing. Her fevered eyes would not look at mine while he held her around the neck. "Little one. Do not look away. See what your future holds. You are to be nothing but an item for us to use when we want." He tossed the omega back to the bed and crouched down to look me in the eyes. "The pictures I have created will bring much interest to your sale. Father was right to hold off on you until you turn twenty-one. It leaves no doubt that you are special. It also means that your new owner does not have to hold back on their urges and chance wrecking you." He laughed. "If I bought you, I would live feed every encounter. Rake in every penny and do to you all the requests." He licked his lips. "Maybe I will add that as a suggestion to your new owner." He walked back to the bed and continued his abuse to the other in the room.
When I finally fell asleep, the sky was slowly going a grey from the midnight colour. I did not expect food or interruptions this day, so resting should not have been a problem. The room now uncomfortable with the smells and knowledge two others, one being a monster, were around and made for a restless sleep. It was but an hour or two before I woke.
Looking at the bed that was now empty, made me happy that it was over. That also had me concerned, the monster was awake already. I moved slightly to check the rest of the room. Something felt off and I could not figure it out. Sniffing the air told me little, as all scents seemed gone. It was not until a few hours later, I realized the whole house was quiet. None of the whimpers you could hear from time to time from training, or the yelling between siblings could be heard.
Thinking back to the talks I heard yesterday gave me no real answers. The monster said he would leave today, and the father said something about getting my portfolio ready. No clue what he meant but I did know it had to do with the pictures, the doctors report and the sale. The siblings were not around much during the shoot, so nothing learned there.
As tired as I was, it was always best to pay attention during the day when things were happening. Especially when I did not know what was happening. To entertain myself I looked at fluffy. His fur was no longer puffed out, but he was still soft. Part of me worried that when the sale happened, we would be separated. I had come to rely on him to be near me and it was like he let me think things were okay. The soft blue eyes that stared into mine, never judging but always aware, helped me stay grounded the last little while. Who knew that something as simple as this would end up meaning so much to me?
Eventually I fell back asleep. No food, no interruptions and no life around made it easy. As I dreamt of a life away from the cage and chains, my captors were visiting with their enemy.

My dreaded birthday had come, and I was not pleased. My mother had invited the new neighbours along with a few of the families that stayed friends after the lawsuit with my father. Many other families looked down on us and included us in the downcast society. I never let it bother me, but I know my mother lost childhood friends from it.
"Mother, did you really have to invite so many?" I was fixing my tie for what had to be the hundredth time.
"This is your twenty-fifth birthday! Of course, it was a must! You are never home, and they all miss you!" She was smiling brightly.
"Mother, you know they are only hoping to marry me off to their off spring. I have no patience for that today." I grumbled knowing it would fall on deaf ears. We were no closer to tracking the omega sellers than we were the day we lost them, and it rattled me to be here.
"There is nothing wrong with having a little fun once in a while. Maybe you will find your fated here! Oh! Wouldn't that be something?" She started to get over excited once more. "Oh! I can see it now!"
"Mother! Before you let your imagination run off, there is no such thing as fated pairs or partners. It was made up to give omegas hope and alphas control. There is no documented evidence of this happening. It is all related to pheromones and nothing more." Exasperated I ran my fingers through my hair. However, I sighed when I saw her face. "We should get downstairs. Guests should be arriving shortly. Who knows, maybe I will meet someone today."
If it was not for Gekka, I would have left the party hours ago. It just dragged on. I was passed from one female to another. Some Alphas, one beta and a couple of omegas. The parents had no issues trying to, well, sell them to me. At least it felt that way. The way the mothers would tell me of their daughter's accomplishments and hopes. Thinking again I growled.
"Whoa. You okay?" Gekka looked back at me.
"I am tired of people selling me their daughters. The person themselves do not even have to be here for their parents to go off and tell me about them." I groaned. "And the new neighbours seem so naïve. They are happy to just chat, but I dunno."
"You are always working." Gekka looked at me. "You need to relax too. It is not healthy."
Huffing at his comment I glared. "I will relax when the traders we lost are caught."
Gekka passed me a knowing smile. "You promise boss? We might have a lead, but a different one."
My eyes lit up. "Tell me!"
This time Gekka smirked and I knew he was not going to make it easy. "Enjoy the rest of your party. When the guests leave, and it is just us I will talk." He then got up and started to mingle.
Getting up, I walked to my mother who was engaged with the new neighbours. "Oh, that is horrible! I never knew there were people like that!" The sister looked like she was going to cry, while her brother was playing a game on his phone.
"Sorry to interrupt." I smiled to my mother.
"Oh! I was just explaining to these two the work you do protecting the poor omegas. They never knew such things were happening. The poor dears." My mom handed the woman a napkin for her tears.
"Not many do not know about the illegal trade. Most just turn a blind eye as it does not involve them." I watched the brother look up and scowl.
"That does not make them any less guilty. Sis, we must head off soon. Father was going to call." He tucked his cell into his pocket. "My phone just died."
She chuckled at him "Silly. Stop playing those games and the battery will last longer. That's okay anyways. He will call the house phone. It is getting late." She turned to my mother and I. "Thank you so much for the invite. Happy birthday Mr.Route. I hope all that you strive for in the coming year comes to fruition."
"Thank you for coming dears." My mother really liked this pair. "I will have you over for tea again very soon."
"Thank you!" The woman then grabbed her brothers arm and walked out.
"They are very, what's the word, strange." Smiling I turned to my mother. "Thank you for the party. Shall we start saying our goodbyes?"
She laughed. "Yes, yes. I get it. It has been a long evening."
The last of the party goers just left and I was exhausted. My mother had retired for the evening, while Gekka and I sat in my lounge. "What is this leak you have?"
Gekka chuckled. "Always down to business with you. It is not directly related to your loss, but we can bet it will involve them in one way or another."
His words caught me. "Spit it out."
"There is a talk in the market of a huge sale. Buyer world-wide seem excited enough about it, to be less guarded with words."
I sat deep in my chair. "A sale so big that it is affected world-wide. What has caused this stir?"
"Not sure yet. We have an underground buyer trying to get information. Hope some leaks come our way. The sale is in a few months, but we have no exact date yet." Gekka looked happy. "This sale can help us catch smugglers and buyers. It could be the biggest bust for us yet!"
"What to do about the other team…I do not want them involved with the main investigation. Keep it, and all work evolved around it to our team. No new members. Just our top guys. The rest can keep following the leads or lack of, for the smugglers."
"Good, I was hoping you would say that. In fact, that is what I have already been doing." He smiled. "This could rescue not just local omegas but some from around the world."
I just smiled and nodded. This was the huge break we have been trying to get our hands on. The one thing to open other divisions eyes to. Something that will shake the world and put the black market on its knees. "We need to find out what the big reason this sale is so excited about. Only then can we get an upper hand."
"If all goes well my friend; we will know by the time we get to the office."
