"Is there a problem?" Marek spoke in to the device, clear tension in his voice.
"Please standby for inspection." The reply was cold, and Marek let out a long sigh.
To the left of the ship, all along stone dock, a mass of soldiers had appeared.
They were covered head to toe in gleaming armor, and each of them held long spears in their hands.
"Please lower the stairs for boarding." The voice commanded, and Marek reached over to his instrument panel, reluctantly flicking a switch.
There was a clanking sound as the stairs were lowered, and the soldiers immediately swarmed up them, crowding the deck of the ship.
Now that the soldiers were on the deck, David could see their equipment more clearly.
Their armor had the same smooth sweeping shapes as the city, and their faces were totally hidden by their helmets.
