By the time David woke up, the sun was back on its way down the horizon, a few heavy clouds darkening the sky, a sign of rain to come.
David walked out his door and almost stepped in a tray set down next to the door, piled high with with food.
He stepped back and smiled, picking up the tray and carrying it with him, even cold, the food smelled heavenly.
"Give that here, I'll grab you something hot." Nina snatched the tray from him the moment he stepped into the inn, today, a red bandanna held back her hair.
David didn't even get a chance to protest, as he was herded to a seat at the bar, and a steaming bowl of soup was plunked in front of him.
"Now, since you were so exhausted, I didn't bring up the mischief you've gotten yourself in." Her arms crossed, Nina frowned at David, he typically jolly voice had a hint of sternness in it.
Her deep brown eyes squinted at David, as if daring him to say anything.
