Chapter 20 - CHAPTER 20

I and Emma escorted Rachel back to her home and her mum was very sad to see her in such a bad condition. She allowed us take care of our friend, since we insisted to. I rested Rachel's back against a sofa chair massaging her swollen legs while Emman went over to the back of her house to get some local herbs we could use, to treat her wounds. We couldn't afford those expensive drugs at hospitals or clinics, so we could only go for the ones we were used to.

"I hate Kristine so much and I'll never forgive her for this. Just mark my words.!!!" Rachel said to me aloud with an angry tone.

"She really crossed her limits today. She thinks it's because we are lowlifes tchw." I replied, shaking my head disappointingly.

"Are you people still not going to get over today?" Emman asked us from the door.

Rachel tried standing up from the sofa chair but the pains at her back couldn't let her go after Emman, atleast to give him an earful. Rachel groaned in pain while I returned her back to the sofa chair. Emman approached us, holding some herbs in his hands. He sat near Rachel while she glared at him with her fiery eyes.

"Your eyes do not scare me at all Rachel. You should learn to control your temper." Emman advised her.

"Julienne can you listen to your dear friend huh?". She asked me, while I laughed.

"Emma stop annoying Rachel please. Kristine needs to put back in her shell." I said to them, getting angry after mentioning her name.

Emman heaved out a heavy sigh while I wondered what could be going through his mind at the moment. He concentrated at squeezing the herbs and extracting out its juice as they dropped on the bruises on Rachel's legs. Rachel kept screaming out aloud in pains, while I comforted her. I knew that Emman's silence was because something was really going on in his head.

After much Silence, Emman finally decided to say a word. I and Rachel exchanged glances, waiting for him to say whatever he had in mind.

"The blame should be put on Damian. He has no manners and can't put his fiancee under control." Emma said to us angrily.

"Are you nuts Emman? Don't dare blame my Damian. He even needs to be appreciated for stopping that ugly face from harming me." Rachel said to Emman.

"Maybe Emman is actually right this time." I said with a low tone.

Rachel acted very surprised because this time around, I wasn't defending Damian. Emman felt happy within him because of the support I threw in for him. He felt like he was ontop of the world and he wished I would do this more often. My heart was lying to me, but I didn't want to listen to it anymore. Damian has been at fault from the very first day he brought me into his home as his slave.

If I didn't step my feet into that mansion, maybe atleast the world would have no reason to be so unjust to I and my friends than it is already is to us.

"Julienne you can't be in your right senses now." Rachel said to me harshly.

"I get it, you've joined Emman in hating Damian. His only crime was accepting that lowlife as his fiancee." Rachel said to me crying this time.

I didn't understand the reason she was getting emotional right now. She was crying over someone that gives do dime about her. Rachel was serious when she told us that she was deeply in love with Damian. She was overly attached to him to the extent of crying for him, even in his absence. I watched her cry feeling so perplexed. Emma couldn't watch his friend cry over someone like Damian. I left them at the living room, heading outside at Rachel's backyard.

I leaned against a wall, holding onto the tip of my dress heaving out a deep sigh. I didn't want to listen to my heart anymore because lies, deceit and envy were lying there. I no longer wanted Damian in my life story because he would cause me pains and uncertainties.

"Julienne hang in there, everything would be fine." I encouraged myself with a very low tone.

After monologuing with myself, I returned back to my friends. Emman had his way of consoling Rachel and I was glad she was doing better now. She looked at me when I entered inside. Emman also joined her to look at me and both wondered what I had gone out to do.

"Where did you?". Rachel asked me.

"Don't bother about that Rachel. Hope you're okay now?". I asked her, while she nodded her head.

"She made me promise her that I won't ever talk bad about her crush." Emman said to me.

I bursted out in laughter because it sounded so childish in my ears. Emma joined me in laughing while Rachel gave us some sad looks. We comported ourselves yet again, so that she wouldn't start up with her drama as usual.

★★At the Robinson's Mansion★★

Damian and the others returned back home later in the day. He was really angry with Angela Kristine and she wasn't comfortable with his silent treatment towards her. She entered his courtroom where he was trying to distract his moodswings with his laptop. Kristine stood behind his chair, holding a cup of hot black coffee.

"Damian, are you really not going to speak to me?". She asked him with a low mild tone.

"Kristine please leave me alone. I don't need anyone except me in my courtroom." Damian ordered her but she stubbornly refused to leave.

"Not now that you're angry with me. I even made some black coffee for you, atleast drink it up as a sign that you've forgiven me." Kristine said to him.

Damian turned his chair towards her, dragging the cup of coffee from her hand. Kristine was already smiling and expecting him to drink up the cup of coffee. Damian threw the cup at a corner as it's content spilled to the ground. The cup smashed into pieces while Kristine closed her ears with her palms, shocked by his unexpected action. The noise attracted every member of the Robinson mansion, including the servants that gossiped about it down the stairs. His family rushed into his courtroom to find out what's going on.

Mrs Robinson dragged Kristine to herself while Laurel approached Damian. Their eyes went to the broken cup and spilled coffee lying on the ground.

"What did you do this time?".Laurel asked him.

"Ask your lovely sister-in-law that won't let me be. She's always causing unnecessary dramas." Damian replied her.

"No matter what you do, Kristine remains the girl we've chosen for you as your wife to be." Mrs Robinson said to him.

Damian shut his laptop and stood up, leaving them behind in his courtroom. He hated the fact that his family keeps reminding him about ending up with Kristine. He feels absolutely nothing for her and he couldn't just take it any longer. Kristine was happy that Damian's family were siding her as usual and not him. She so much loved the fact, that Mrs Robinson told him to his face that she remains his fiancee.
