Nicky and i looked around the place for anything that could alter the portal but there were some scribbles on the wall
"Hey, Nick, over here" i shouted since Nick was searching the other side of the room. "Yeah?" I pointed at the scribbles on the wall. "Look". Nicky analyzed them for a while which was boring for me to watch since i didn't understand what was written
" I'm not really sure but the words that are clear to me are: blood, spell and howl"
Hmmm. I thought for a while before realising what it meant "Nicky, blood for vampires, spell for witch and howl for werewolves"
"So what? How does that have to do with opening the portal" Nicky asked obviously confused "This is like some kind of ritual. I think i have to sacrifice some of my blood, recite a spell and howl at the end"
"That sounds stupid"
"I know but it's worth trying don't you think"
"Bleeding yourself and fooling around doesn't seem really worth it, don't YOU think?"
I looked round the room one more time and saw some kind of wooden bowl in the middle of the room "Nicky, was that there?" I pointed at the bowl "I didn't notice it, so no"
"That means I'm right" I rushed towards the bowl and knelt down in front of it. I thought of picking it up to have a better look at the details but it was as if it was glued to the ground "This can't be right" i said to myself
After some time of no prevail, my eyes shifted to the inside of the bowl. Eww
The inside was covered with dry blood. And it didn't seem like blood from 30 years ago, it seemed like blood from just days ago. "Nicky, do people come here?"
"No. Why do you ask?" Approaching me. "Because it's covered with blood. Dry blood precisely. " I haven't really been paying attention to this area in a while, so i can't be really sure about that but i don't think people are even allowed to leave their respective worlds". "So, we are not actually meant to be here?"
"Yes but who cares. Rules are meant to be broken" she said as she raised her claws to the air "You are a very funny dragon. I'm still trying my plan out"
"Fine. I'll assist you. I think i saw a spell book in the shelf somewhere" Nicky left to look for the book and i decided to look around the room again
There were some status at the corners of the room and on the floor, there was a huge circle with smaller circles connected to each other in the bigger circle. I guess the most powerful creatures in the monster world were the werewolves, witches and vampires just like in our world, the most powerful were those who controlled the elements: fire, water, air and earth but that's another story for another day
Nicky came back some minutes later with a large book. She held it with her foot claws and flew towards me "Here's the book, Vicky". She placed the book in my open palms and i opened it rapidly.
"Yes" i exclaimed "Found it. A spell on portals". I started scanning through the list." Portal for places, portals for time, portals for worlds. Got it". There was the original language and there was also a transcription. Good. "Nick, do you have some kind of sharp object or blade or whatsoever. You know what, don't worry" I reached into my bag which I'd placed beside me when i knelt down. I brought out a knife I'd taken with me when i left the house just in case
Without thinking twice, i slit my wrist. It hurt, a lot, i felt like crying but i held it in since it was my idea. I roll my hand into a tight fist and blood was dripping out. I placed my hand right above the bowl and immediately my blood touched the bowl, it lit up which also lit up the rest of the circles. Knew it
I studied the words in the book very well before saying it. "Portals into worlds, you are in my zone. Listen to my words, listen to my tone..." Before i could continue, Nicky cut me short. She swiftly took the book from my hands and started saying some nonsense very fast and smoothly that i couldn't comprehend. I guess those nonsense were the original language because immediately she uttered the last word, the own place lit up so bright i could actually go blind and then i howled even though i could clearly there was no point. The light dimmed and there was actually a portal in front of us
I guess there was a point, huh?
"You did it, Nick" i said happily. "Nah, we did it. It was your idea and your blood"
Right
I stood up, not forgetting my bag "You wanna go in first". " You bet i do" Nicky dropped in without wasting anymore second
"I guess this is goodbye" But before i could enter i heard a voice
"Vicky, what are you doing?"
I turned around to see Tina and my sister at the door frame "You are not going anywhere, Vicky" my sister said. As if i was gonna listen to her
"Delight, tell mum i said bye and also they can keep the map. It was just a piece of paper, don't you think? And also, tell Mimi that this..." I pointed to the portal "...isn't some adventure. This is my adventure" i faced the portal ready to take a big leap "Peace, snitches" and then i jumped in
Nothing much happen after that at least, the only thing i could see were the light around me and the huge ball of light i was heading towards to.
The portal spat me out to a hill overlooking a whole different world
Oh. My. World
It was way different from mine. It was darker, more intriguing and way different from my bright world
"Vicky, where have you been" Nick flew around me "Will you at least chill. Let's just say we had some...company. So what's the update about this surrounding" I looked around again to get use to the new surrounding "Let's just say we are in the right world, alright". Not what i expected but I'll go with it. " Let's look around shall we?" I said to Nick who was obviously having second thoughts. "Relax, Nick. We are together. Nothing will happen to you when I'm here, so let's take a look, shall we?" Having saying that, Nicky obliged
It wasn't actually that bad when we were on leveled ground. The place wasn't as creepy or abandoned or straw as i thought. It actually looked like my world but in a more reserved way
We were walking for a while till we found ourselves in a oddly quiet area. I paused, feeling like something was approaching us. I squinted my eyes a little more and noticed a wolf was approaching us. I wasn't sure if it was a werewolf or a normal wolf since the creature had blue eyes. What i read was that werewolves had whether green or purple eyes depending on their gender
I looked around for Nick but didn't see her. So much for us being a team
By the time i looked back, the wolf was already circling me
How is he that fast
I wasn't sure if he was studying me with interest or with some kind of lust. As if he wanted to devour me in a split second but i guess he had other plans because in the blink of an eye, he transformed
He looked certainly amazing. His eyes looked much more beautiful in his human form. He had the most fit structure I'd ever seen. Steve could learn one or two thing from him. I wasn't wooed or anything, i was just wowed. What do you expect from a girl who hasn't seen any other creature apart from hers
I felt like studying his face and features. He was hairy that's for sure but not in an unpleasant way. He looked quite amazing. Have i said that before. Oops
"Um, hello. I'm Vicky, I'm from another world" Totally ignoring me, he took me by my hand and started pulling me. I was no dummy, i understood want he was trying to do. I was new to this world, not new to harassment
"Hey punk. Get your perfectly sculpted hand off me" I couldn't help myself, his hands were so big and strong compared to mine but the dude didn't answer and let's just say what happened next wasn't really pretty, he found himself on the ground as i was on top of him twisting, that same hand he was pulling me with, behind his back. "Okay, fine, chill. I mean no harm and wow, you are stronger than you look"
I let go of the guy and helped him up. He was adjusting himself while i was looking at him, waiting for an explanation "Well?"
"If you hadn't said you were from another world, i would have thought you were a werewolf too"
"Sure whatever pretty boy. Just tell me, what gives?"
"You aren't meant to be here"
"As if I've not heard that"
"Well. Also in this environment too. With the way you're blabbing that you're from another world, you could put yourself in danger"
"How?"
"Don't you know that we aren't meant to leave our worlds"
"Oh, i know" I said with a grin "But i don't understand why"
"Ain't you from PW?"
"What's that"
"Power world. The world full of 'powerful creatures' " He said it with an air quote. He has some guts to that in my face. I wanted to rip out those fingers of his but i held it in by asking "How do you know that?"
"Let's just say i know your scent even though your scent is kinda confusing" he paused when he heard some footsteps from afar which i also heard with my super hearing
"Someone's coming" We both said it at the same time. We stared at each other for a while before i looked away. "We have to go" he said but i couldn't. "I can't leave without Nicky. Nicky" i started shouting but the stranger spun me around me, placed his hand on my mouth and pulled me into a dark alley
I was rested on him and wow, he smelled nice. Honestly, i was expecting werewolves to smell like wet hair or dirt hair but this was an improvement in my head. I was getting awkward with the position we were in since his other hand were on my waist, so i bit him and faced him. "Are you insane?" Before i could protest any further, he placed his hand on my mouth again and pinned me to the wall. "Shut up" I don't know what made my heart beat faster
The fact that he was towering over me or the fact that the footsteps were getting closer
