Ryan, who was knocked out by Barry, is now starting to feel that awareness is starting to come to his mind.
But he still doesn't want to open his eyes yet. Afraid about what he would find before his eyes.
Ryan felt the rope tie his body tightly and he was now sitting on a metal chair. The sun's rays hit it, making the metal of the chair heat up.
The slightly strong wind also hit the skin on his face. Makes Ryan wonder where he is now.
"I know you're awake."
A very familiar voice sounded, making Ryan jolted involuntarily. He cursed because he couldn't control himself.
"Open your eyes," Barry said, more like ordered.
So, Ryan obeyed and opened his eyes slowly because he had no choice.
Ryan saw the view of a rooftop. More precisely, he was sitting on the edge of it and was being tied up using the golden rope he had used to tie up Barry a moment ago.
Barry was in front of him, sitting on his own chair. Behind him was Elaine who was looking at him with a sharp gaze as if thirsty for his blood.
When Ryan fainted earlier, Elaine had explained everything and resolved her problem with Barry.
"Let me kill him," Elaine said.
Barry gave her a look, then shook his head briefly.
Elaine just snorted loudly and looked away. It's as if if she saw Ryan's face for another moment she could snap and really kill him.
"You are the most cowardly and bastard person I have ever met," Barry said. "You knocked out Elaine, fed her to a zombie cat, trapped me to be eaten by the zombie cat and ran away again."
Ryan gritted his teeth. 'What can I do to escape from him?' He glanced around.
"But I'm curious, why did you bother bringing Elaine back after I saved her?" Barry asked.
Ryan was silent.
So, Barry stood up and raised his leg to kick him. If he does that then Ryan will obviously fall to the bottom.
"I just want to save her!" Ryan hurriedly said.
"Stop your bullshit! You son of a bitch!" Elaine approached him with a fierce expression.
Before Elaine could actually land a hit on him, Barry immediately stopped her. "We need him to get out of here."
Once again, Elaine let out a loud snort and turned her face away.
Ryan frowned. 'What does that mean?'
"You're clearly lying. Don't you have anything worth saying? Maybe... If I think what you're saying is good enough, I'll let you go." Barry grinning. "What do you think?"
Ryan racked his brain. If he didn't say something to make Barry happy, he would really push him.
Ryan, who was panicked, said. "I-I have some very useful information for you. Did you know that we can gain other people's powers?"
Barry blinked rapidly. He doesn't know that.
"How?" asked Barry, genuinely curious.
"If I tell you, you will free me, right?"
"Sure." Barry nodded quickly.
Ryan smiled in his heart. "You can get that person's power if you kill him."
Barry nodded several times. "After death, that person's power will immediately enter your body?"
"N-no. Something fell. Its like... a glowing crystal. If you pick up the crystal and break it with your hand you can get the power."
"Ah, I see." Barry nodded in satisfaction with a smile.
"Now, let go of me and let's get out of here!" Ryan was delighted.
But suddenly he heard a snort from Elaine. When he turned to look at the girl, she was smiling while folding her arms in front of her chest.
"Good job, Ryan. I appreciate the information," Barry said then stood up. "But to let you live... Uhm... That's not a wise choice for both of us. You're a problem."
Ryan's face turned pale. "B-But... You said-"
"Well, I lied." Barry shrugged his shoulders.
Then he pulled Ryan's chair a little closer to the edge of the rooftop.
"W-Wait!" Ryan said, panicking. "Wait! Wait! Wait! Wait! You said you would let me live! You son of a bitch!"
"And I already said I lied," Barry replied.
Barry stopped Ryan's chair at the edge of the rooftop. Now, with just a little nudge Ryan will fall to the bottom.
Ryan looked down. He saw dozens of zombies roaming wildly all the way to the front gate. It turns out, the corridors and classes are empty because all the zombies are here, waiting in the yard near the gate.
Ryan's eyes widened and his face turned pale. He looked at Barry. "P-Please. I don't want to die here. You wouldn't want to kill me, would you? We are just high school students!"
"Look around you. I know you yourself are aware that the world has changed. You also won't hesitate to kill us if it makes you live longer. In fact, you've already done that," Barry said.
"Quickly throw him! I want to leave here immediately," Elaine said.
"Okay."
Barry kicks Ryan. He toppled over and then fell at high speed downwards, into the midst of the zombies.
The rooftop is not too high. At the most, Ryan will only suffer a broken bone. He won't die just from falling from here.
That will keep him alive when the zombies tear his flesh.
That was Barry's initial goal. That way, the zombies' attention can be diverted, so Barry and Elaine can run towards the gate and get out of here.
"Let's go!" Elaine said.
Barry nodded. Elaine climbed onto his back then Barry activated his Gravity Manipulation to lighten their weight.
Barry kicked the edge of the rooftop. The two of them seemed to be flying at the moment even though in reality they were only descending very slowly.
"AARRGHHH!!!"
When Barry finally hit the ground, Ryan's heartbreaking scream could be heard. The zombies are busy tearing his flesh while he is still alive.
"You go first. I have to get something," Barry said.
"Don't tell me you want to take his power. Didn't you see that?!" Elaine pointed at the horde of zombies surrounding Ryan.
"Don't worry about me. Just open the gate and I'll follow you soon. Trust me."
Even though she was doubtful, Elaine felt that Barry was going to be fine. So she ran towards the gate which was right in front of her.
Meanwhile Barry kicked the ground again, controlling his body with full concentration. Later, when Ryan was dead he saw a crystal roll out of his body.
Barry lands near Ryan's mangled corpse and snatches the crystal. Then, before the zombies gathered around him, he kicked the ground again to shoot up.
Barry then followed Elaine to leave this school.
