Chapter 4 - Ch:4 The Merchant Guild

As the adventurers were fighting the dragon, they finally managed to beat the dragon. Everyone was happy and cheering for the adventurers. Max was sitting in the carriage with Ron and Zakar, who were also excited. They wondered if they could get a hand on the dragon's body, but they knew that it wasn't something that they could afford. They had joined the caravan of travelers who were heading to the merchant guild in Sky High, where Max hoped to take the test and become a merchant. Max, Ron and Zakar had become friends during the journey, as they shared their stories and aspirations. They had also witnessed many amazing sights and dangers along the way, such as the fight with the dragon that they had just seen.

They soon left that place and the carriage stopped in front of the merchant guild. There, they had to say goodbye to Zakar.

Zakar had taken a liking to Max, Ron and ,and had given them some advice and gifts. He had also told them to meet him later at night at an inn, where he would be staying. He also told them to be careful and not to trust anyone in the city. Max and Ron thanked him and promised to see him later.

They entered the merchant guild with their luggage, hoping to find someone who could help them. They expected to see a grand and luxurious building, but they were surprised to see a modest and plain one. It looked like a small cottage, with a wooden door and a sign that said "Merchant Guild". They wondered if they had come to the wrong place, but they decided to give it a try. They knocked on the door and walked in, only to be greeted by a receptionist who looked at them with disdain. She was a young woman with blonde hair and blue eyes, who wore a fancy dress and a lot of jewelry. She seemed to be bored and annoyed by her job, and she didn't bother to hide her contempt for Max and Ron . She asked them in a snobbish voice what they wanted, and when Max said he wanted to become a merchant, she burst into laughter. She mocked him for his appearance, his clothes, his luggage and his lack of knowledge. She told him that he was an idiot who didn't know anything about the world, and that he had no chance of passing the test. She also told him that the price for taking the test was two silvers, and that he couldn't afford it. She told him to get out of her sight and never come back.

Max was angry and hurt by her words, but he didn't give up. He had worked hard and saved enough money to pay for the test fee, and he had also learned a lot from the books and the travelers. He was confident that he could pass the test and prove her wrong. He took out ten silvers from his pocket and gave eight of them to another receptionist, who looked kind and cute. She smiled and thanked him, and gave him a paper with the test questions. She also wished him good luck and told him to return the paper when he was done.

Ron decided to wait for Max outside, as he didn't want to take the test or deal with the rude receptionist. He told Max to do his best and not to worry about him. he also told him to be careful and not to trust anyone in the city. Max nodded and thanked him, and then followed the second receptionist to a room where he could take the test.

As he entered the room, he was amazed by what he saw. The room was huge and spacious, with a high ceiling and a large window. There were many tables and chairs, and many people who were busy writing or reading. There were also many shelves and cabinets, filled with books and papers. There were also many paintings and sculptures, depicting various scenes and characters. There were also many devices and instruments, emitting lights and sounds. There were also many plants and animals, adding life and color to the room. It was like a museum, a library, a laboratory and a garden all in one. It was nothing like the outside of the building, which looked like a small cottage. Max realized that it was a magic building, and that it used space magic to create a huge area inside a normal building. He was impressed and curious, but he also felt nervous and intimidated. He wondered how he would do in the test, and if he could become a merchant.

The second receptionist led him to a table where he could sit and write. She gave him a pen and a paper, and told him to start. She also told him that he had one hour to finish the test, and that he could use any resources in the room, such as the books, the devices and the plants. She also told him that he could ask anyone in the room for help, but that he had to be careful and not to trust anyone. She then left him alone, and went to help other people.

Max looked at the paper, and saw the questions. He was shocked by how difficult they were. They were questions that only high-level merchants could answer, and that even the A-class merchants would struggle with. They were questions such as "What is the best way to negotiate with a dragon?" and "How to calculate the exchange rate between different currencies?" and "What are the laws and regulations of the merchant guild?" and "What are the latest trends and demands in the market?" and "How to deal with competitors and enemies?" and "How to manage a large and complex business?" and "How to use magic and skills to enhance your trade?" and "How to create and maintain a good reputation and network?" and "How to handle risks and opportunities?" and "What is your name?"

He didn't know how to answer any of them, except for the last one. He felt like he had been given a test that was impossible to pass, and that he had been set up to fail. He wondered if the first receptionist had something to do with it, and if she had given him the wrong paper on purpose. He felt angry and betrayed, but he also felt determined and challenged. He decided to try his best and not to give up. He thought that maybe he could find some clues or hints in the room, or that maybe he could ask someone for help. He thought that maybe he could use his knowledge and skills from his own world, or that maybe he could use his luck and intuition. He thought that maybe he could pass the test and become a merchant, and that maybe he could surprise and impress everyone. He thought that maybe he could prove the first receptionist wrong, and that maybe he could see her again. He picked up the pen and started to write. He wrote his name, and then moved on to the next question. He didn't know what he was doing, but he was doing it anyway. He was taking the test, and he was trying to become a merchant.

But he still got worried suddenly the system showed the knowledge attribute he thought that he could increase his knowledge but it required 50 silvers it was half of the money he earned but at the end he still decided to use it he was suddenly able to see description below object and plants he could identify them and was even able to see answers of the questions he was excited as he solved all those questions and was waiting to see the receptionist face
