XAVIER'S POV 

I watched her bite her lower lip as her eyes darted around, lingering with confusion as she remained mute. Eliot was indeed right to ask her to choose a side before it gets too ugly and she gets caught up in the crossfire, but she dared to reject his hand for help.

I slowly brushed my hair backward and lunged to join her in her chair, but she quickly shifted to avoid my touch. It made me wonder if I'm that scary for her to run away from my touch. If that was the case, why did she not follow Eliot then? And just as I sat, another thought crept into my mind – was she waiting on Addison? I swallowed a gulp of saliva, pushing the thoughts out of my mind. I didn't want to think further about it.
