Chapter 6 - Jane's Ambition

David didn't know that his older sister was watching.

Just being watched by people was enough to make him somewhat uncomfortable.

He wondered why people were so curious about other people's business.

If it was like this, his university life could become unsettled.

Perhaps the main problem was that Jane came in a conspicuous manner, using an overly luxurious car.

"Who wants to go to class, follow me!" Suddenly a female student spoke in a loud voice.

After speaking, she immediately turned around, stepping into the university building.

David and Jade looked at each other for a moment before following her along with several other freshmen.

Most remained standing in place for the orientation program.

They were clearly aiming to network and make friends plus find out more information about the university.

After entering the university building, they went to the second floor, using the stairs as the elevator was full.

The building was large, with many hallways.

They went to one of the hallways.

There, they finally found the classes for the economics department.

There were class divisions for the first year, but it seemed that the students were free to choose the classes they wanted.

The only thing different about each class was the lecturer, and each class was also very large, enough for over a hundred people.

The student who brought David and the others explained that for the first six months they would be in this hallway before moving to another hallway where class issues would be stricter.

If they have good grades, they will get better classes.

"Which class do you want?" David asked Jane.

He left the decision to her as he wasn't sure which one either.

Jane actually didn't have much to go on, she pointed to a class they happened to pass by. They entered it only to find it wasn't empty.

There were a few students there, but they seemed to be old students. Maybe they were repeating.

The shape of the classroom was similar to a movie theater. As you go forward, the floor gets lower.

The front was definitely not suitable for a new couple like David and Jane as it would make their movements visible to others.

David and Jane spontaneously chose the backmost table on the left side which happened to be empty.

The older students in the class observed them for a while, somewhat curious.

After sitting down, Jane gave David a faint smile.

"David, are you serious about going to college?" she asked suddenly, slightly confusing David.

"Why are you asking that?" David asked back.

"Because I don't really need college. What I've learned in the past few years from my family is enough for me to build big things in my life. For our family, college is just an extra activity to see the world," Jane replied.

Upon hearing her answer, David smiled wryly.

"Of course, it's not suitable because college practically only teaches us to be good workers. However, with my background, I need to go to college to have a better future. Yeah, although I'm not so sure because I'm not the type who is eager to learn. It would be better if I had a good idea to write a novel. That could make more money."

Jane suddenly laughed at his answer.

She said, "don't forget that your girlfriend is a Rothschild. With me, you can also build great things in your life. Even building an international company is not a difficult thing."

David, "..."

"Do you have ambitions?" Jane asked as David fell silent.

"Perhaps my ambition is to rule the world, nothing less," David replied which was of course a joke as he wanted to lighten the mood.

However, Jane's response left his mouth open.

"Our ambitions are exactly the same, then let's both fight for the world to be completely ours."

David stared at the woman in disbelief.

Behind her poise and grace, he saw a clear light of ambition in her eyes.

It was completely obvious, as if she had indeed only thought of that in her life.

"Isn't your family almost like rulers of the world?" asked David, curious about her thoughts.

"That's my family, not me," she replied.

"Don't tell me you also want to be above your family?" David was shocked again.

"Every human lives and dies with their partner, not with their family because even family can be enemies," Jane said in a soft voice.

"Are you sure?" asked David once again.

"I hope you are serious and willing to fight with me. We will start together from the beginning," Jane replied.

She even took the initiative to place her hand over David's.

They were both just young people, 18 years old.

Jane came from a family that almost controlled the world. She had different insights so her ambition to rule the world was acceptable.

It's just that, in David's point of view, this is something too far and heavy. Even something like building a company is too big for him.

However, how could he show such a weak side in front of his own girlfriend.

He replied, "okay, I'll do anything if it's with you. However, you have to help improve my knowledge first because there are many things I don't know."

"Sure!" Jane did not refuse.

She stared ahead for a while, observing the people around before taking something out of her bag.

This time, it was a small bottle with a red liquid inside.

"Our world was once home to the Deities. The remnants of their blessings and blood are the source of the great power being contested."
