Chapter 50 - Chapter 50

10/6 10:58 (Autumn, Day, Sud Midrar, Undead Dungeon)

*Luna's Innate Skill "Lunar Resistance" E Expands.

This was the only thing Luna achieved by absorbing the remaining Magicules that would disperse but it was more than enough for her considering the Skill she learned on her own previously and her increase in Potential left her just a couple of steps away from her desired Rank-Up.

She longingly watched the gate to the next Floor before sighing, well aware that even if she herself could probably survive it alone considering how she was actually built for survivability she would not be able to protect any of her Mates and it would take her days to finish the next Floor, long enough to miss Sabel's birthday.

The four left the Dungeon soon after, Luna once outside starting to experiment with the Spell previously Casted by the Lich, the only one she could Cast of those she copied from it, the "No-Attribute Magecraft" Spell [Banishment] by repeatedly Casting and Dispelling it, analyzing it until she found a countermeasure against it just in case she would not be able to use her newest Ability Skill "Counterspell".

The four Mates moved towards the city, more precisely towards Mafel and Sabel's mix of house and shop, while praticing with Luna's newest Skill.

Sabel, Mafel and Amber Casted some Spells without any warning to Luna or each other while this last one precisely countered them by using Vital Mana and without causing any backlash to her Mates by using no excess Vital Mana that the amount strightly needed, using her "Authority: Vital Mana"'s Sense for Mana alone to guide both the amount of Vital Energy to use and when to use it.

Especially considering how thanks to the difference between Vital Mana and Mana alone, she needed a lot less Energy to fight against a Spell than her opponent and this led her to understand the fact that she could without a doubt be defined as a "Mage Killer", considering her ability to Sense Vital Energy and Mana and, if she was willing to bring herself to the brink of unconsciousness, she could simply use "Counterspell" while using the entirety of her Vital Mana to inflict an immense amount of True Damage, Damage that would ignore any defensive measures or Resistances.

A while later…

Sabel felt a mix of amusement and embarrassment, together with Mafel's and Ember's disbelief, as they beholded Luna once again found herself in trouble with the same guard as her previous misadventure, before she jumped in to intervene between the two before a fight could happen.

"I promise to look after her and make sure she doesn't do anything wrong." She said only to be rebuffed immediately from both of them.

"You aren't strong enough to stop her."

"You aren't strong enough to stop me."

The combined statement from both led to her stepping back, an awkward expression on her face at the truth of said statements before Amber stepped forward, her eyes trying to conceal her own newfound amusement.

"I'm going to make sure Luna doesn't cause trouble in this city." The blonde bore the guard's judgement calmly before this last one calmly for a couple of seconds before he nodded, satisfied by the combination of her strength and her being much less inherently dangerous than their companion.

"Fine but keep her under control." He launched a last bad look towards the red-eyed one while this last one was looking back at the Phoenix, one of her eyebrows raised in a silent challenge and causing a shiver to travel her back.

"Oh? You will keep me under control, will you?" the challenge in Luna's tone was evident as she looked at her Mate with half lidded eyes, promising either great pain, pleasure or maybe even both.

The Phoenix stepped back, her shiver returning with a vengeance, while Mafel and Sabel both tried to stop their amusements, even if of the two the Elvish one was much more skilled at hiding it of the two, by starting to lead the other two back in the city and more specifically in Sabel's and Mafel's temporary home.

Once within Mafel's shop, the door closed behind them, she led the four of them first in room where she met her clients and then moved away one of the curtains revealing what looked to be just a normal wall before she posed her left hand on it and pulsing Vital Mana she specifically made.

The wall shone with Runes briefly, opening up and revealing a dark drop into seemingly nothing even to Luna's eyes before she simply stepped forward dropping only four meters before a soft landing pad broke her fall.

Sabel followed her fearlessly, well accustomed to this method of travel, before Luna launched a look and a smile at Amber as the two soon fell after their Mates noting once they landed how Mafel posed her hand on another pattern on the wall, this time a visible one, that closed the wall behind the four of them.

"Wow." Amber commented, watching the complex array of Runes carefully carved in the wall presenting multiple places for the former Boss to place her hands on to cause different phenomens while instead Luna was studying the entrance to the basement, noting how the walls, the pillow and even the door was painted in a black so dark no light could reflect off of it, made with the explicit purpose to fool Dark Vision.

Mafel smiled at the attention before explaining while subtly praising herself.

"I have a lot of knowledge about Runes from both the previous Boss' and the Elf paladin's memories. Not only that but it also converts light into more Vital Mana stored within a battery that helps fuel the entire Runic Array." After a brief pause, she sighed noting the expecting gaze of Sabel. "And Sabel helped me by releasing as much light as she could to help me measure the amount of light that is actually absorbed by the walls."

"You kept me up for days to fine tune the Runes, you know? In fact you teached me Sorcery jus for me to help you." Satisfied with her praise, she turned to the amused Lunarian. "Having said that, Mafel is also nearing the C-Rank in her Ability Skill "Medium Comunication"."

"I see, how impressive. That will be a very important Skill for your growth in the future." Luna complimented, causing some almost visible question marks to form atop the Phoenix's head causing the Lunarian to turn towards her. "How much do you know about that Skill?"

"That it allows Mediums to comunicate with dead People?"

"More precisely, it asks informations from this World about dead Souls. However at C-Rank, a Medium can borrow a single Ability Skill from the World that they could theorically learn or improve one of their Skill by one Rank, up to C-Rank. And by using said Skill, whether improved or gained, they naturally build more proficiency with it, gaining it significantly faster than otherwise."

"I see, that will be certainly very useful for you in the future." Amber nodded, impressed.

Meanwhile said Medium was looking away in embarassment at the appreciative looks sent her way by her most recent Mate before speaking up to distract them from herself.

"The real prize will only be at B-Rank, there is no need for me to be praised. Why don't I show you two around, after all this is the first time either of you visited this place, right? And I made this as something I would easily be able to bring with us."

"A single portable Runic Array, correct? In that case, can you bring me to its Core?" Luna.

Mafel had no problem with it, leading the three of them to yet another hidden yet confortable room with a perfectly circular stone upon a table, the Runic Core that she could use in case she needed to monitor, modify or move the entirety of the Array if necessary.

A luminous circle shone from its carving upon her Keystone, reacting to her Vital Mana and showing the entirety of the Array in an instant and easily allowing Luna to memorize it, her mind proceding to confront it with previous instances of Runes to form patterns and start on understanding the entirety of this Runic Language.

Sabel and Amber both instead wandered off to one of the couch in the room, laying down and starting to rest after the day's stress while admiring the determined expression on Luna's face.

10/6 10:59 (Autumn, Day, Yggrar, Guild Headquarters)

The Guild Grandmaster, at the moment being a pretty woman with long black hair, was boredly spinning on her chair with nothing better to do before suddently stopping, her eyes moving straight to the door and pressing the Rune on her desk, calling her assistant of the day.

Not even a second later, her door opened precisely as her oldest, both in age and time spent following her around, assistant entered her office, standing on attention and Sealing the door behind her.

"What is it, mistress?" She asked, her azure eyes completely focused on her Boss while her pointed ears searched for any sounds that shouldn't be in this place, more especially for anything suspicious as shared in their previous and private meeting.

"It's finally done." Stere Hapu cheered, satisfied. "It needs only to be fused together now."

"Congratulations, mistress." The blonde calmly congratulated her mistress before moving on the more pressing matters. "Did you finish your homework?"

A groan escaped the, at the moment, black-haired one. "You are not my tutor anymore, or my maid for that matter. And I don't need anyone to tell me to do my work, Ladere."

"Don't you? What a change. I still remember that cute child running away the moment I showed myself because they didn't want to study and me needing to hunt and capture them before dragging them by force back to the study."

A shudder went throught the Shapeshifter's back, memories filling her mind of her assistant hunting her down while raining down arrows, Arts and Spells all over the place, before forcefully changing the topic.

"I will need to move to my laboratory to recieve its parts and fuse them together." A smile spread on her face.
