Chapter 22 - chapter 22- why is dracht's storyline so fast??

For the next two weeks I had to rebuild the damn garden and replant everything I had uprooted in my rampage without using my envelope. I couldn't get any sort of help from anyone, nor could I use my summon and my sacred guards were locked down and placed in a glass case in my room. Magna couldn't help but feel disappointed that he couldn't help me and I knew this even though he couldn't talk because I felt what he felt.

Instead I gave him the opportunity to grow stronger by training his physical strength too. All he had to do was 200 pushups a day but boy was he weak. Even though he was an mechanical beast, his physical defense and magic power were high but not his stamina. He'd easily get tired after a few so it was enough training for him. Plus, I didn't want him to hate me and never accept my summons the next time I might need him, that'd be troublesome.

Finally, I had finished building the entirety of the garden while also making myself some training equipment from the remaining cement, bricks and water.

I built a small pond with a bobbing piece of wood in the centre or at least it was floating. I didn't know if it was at the centre in reality. That would help me with weight balance training and also training myself to unconsciously train my envelope all the time without having to contrate on it.

Next, I made some weights to pull here and there to increase my strength. I also made some arm and leg bracelets and enchanted them with the heavy rune with help from brother Jean. I now carried these heavy pieces of rock all the time and all this was actually my punishment from my mother, though it does work in my favor.

My mother was now eight months pregnant and I'll be leaving for adam academy in a month too so I hope I'll be able to see my sister before leaving. Every day with just training myself to become proficient and enjoying every day with my family. this was a luxury I couldn't afford in my last life. Every time I thought of brother Kevin, I couldn't help but think about the atrocities I committed. The lives I took and most of all, my fiancée who betrayed me.

Well, those things were in the past and I needed to control my anger. I didn't wanna lose myself over stuff that's been finished. Now all I wanna do is become strong enough to protect this tranquility.

As such another month had passed and I never got the opportunity to meet my sister because apparently demons had a different gestation period than humans which lasted a year so I'd have to wait and it was finally time for me to leave this place. I had many fond memories here but I'd also not left the place for 17 years because all I wanted to do was enjoy this warmth.

The carriage was ready and I had to send magna back to the spirit realm as he couldn't be left out in the open till, I registered him at the city of Bohsdik, the place where the castle of the demon king and also the academy of adam have stayed strong for the past I don't remember how many years.

The travel was to last 10 days and I had to attend on the 23rd of the ninth month. It was supposed to be an auspicious day for new beginnings and I'd get to meet new peers of my age. Maybe fall in love for real, have kids' yada yada. Yup I was definitely enjoying life.

On the way to the city of Bohsdik, we had to pass through 2 villages under the Drachion duchy and one village under the Verion duchy. My mother had also given me a letter for the duchess of Verion which I promptly delivered and I attended the grand ball hosted by said duchess. Apparently it was in hopes of finding me a wife as early as possible so I left the Virion area as soon as possible.

On the way we also stayed at a small town. Unlike the villages we passed through this one had a name. Neel-kunt and apparently in the past this town was pretty famous as a renowned swordsman called the cancerous sword of Hertron from far north than the demon kingdom had decided to settle himself here. But later it was revealed that the guy was a fraud and from then on, the prosperity of the town dwindled back to its original state and luckily with interference from the demon king it didn't go too far.

But something was too quiet about this town, the moment me and the carriage rider entered a wave hit as though a mana wall was set up but it didn't stop us from entering. At the same time, the town felt abandoned. As though something was silencing everything, the hoot of the owls, the buzzing of crickets and the clinking of cups in a tavern with its lights on.

In the entirety of such a big village where more than 200 people could survive, only the tavern had its lights on and could hear people only from there. An ominous chill crept down my spine, a feeling I couldn't forget even after reincarnation. Vampires, a species of demons specializing in blood magic and are often called blood suckers. But they are superior to humans in any other way only because their bodies are reinforced by magic upon birth and hence their physical and energy type powers are enhanced. Their only disadvantage is that they need a regular intake of blood to survive.

This was a town of said blood suckers and they could lunge at me at any given moment and it was the middle of the night where their powers peak. I didn't have any wooden stakes or holy water or iron to counter them either. The only things I had were my sacred guard and I also had to protect the charioteer. But I also just remembered that I was no longer a human and was a demon. I opened the door of the tavern and was heavily surprised at the sight I saw.

The entire space was not as small as it seemed outside. It was an entire palace on the inside and there weren't only vampires but werewolves. Drinking and throwing glass bottles everywhere. It was a party.
