Chapter 3 - Search for a safe place

Ryan sat on a boulder for an hour, his face pale and sad.

His facial expression changed every few minutes, disbelief, fear, astonishment and expectation could be read from his face.

He pondered for a while.

"What should I do now?!"

He waited for an hour hoping to be rescued by someone else.

The sound of nature was sometimes fun and gave him morale, and the howls and roars of animals increased his fear.

Waiting was of no use to him, the sun was no longer at the top of the sky and the light of day was slowly giving way to the terrifying darkness of the night.

In the city, night was seen as the embodiment of silence and peace, and darkness was considered the best conditions for rest, but in the forest, darkness was only the beginning of the hunt for stronger beasts.

This was the nature of the forest.

Ryan couldn't take it anymore.

Finally, he decided to look for a sign from the rest, a settlement, or a human, after all, wherever there was a settlement there was also safety, and even enduring this hardship with a partner would bring more peace.

He got up and turned around again.

All the directions were similar and there were almost no signs to tell them apart.

Ryan finally took a chance and made his way through the trees.

The stress and fear together had disrupted his thinking, he even got to the point where he was counting his seconds to distract himself.

Ryan thought to himself.

"Why did you read so many novels, didn't you see how high the probability of reincarnation and summoning an otaku was?! Do you think you are the person to take advantage of this so-called opportunity?!

Ryan continued to address himself and said deliriously:

"I signed my death warrant!"

He even began to pray to avoid the attack of animals. But he doubted that it would have any effect on his condition.

An hour passed, it was almost afternoon, the feeling of hunger overcame Ryan and the rumbling sound of his stomach broke the silence around him.

Gooooooor

It's useless, but still better than sitting still, maybe at least it will bring some result.

Ryan hesitated for a moment and started moving again, this time walking faster than before, praying with every last ounce of hope he had.

The sound of rushing ice water opened his heart.

Wherever there was water, there was food, and even if it was not found, he still needed some water to survive.

He smiled, a little color returning to his face, and followed the voice with more hope.

He didn't even think about the place he was in anymore, the forest, the resurrection, the animals. What did these together mean when he died of hunger??!

These were his absurd thoughts that were created due to his mind being messed up, how many hours would a person starve to death?!

But again, at this moment, his absurd thoughts made him not break and move forward, it was a great miracle for someone like Ryan to keep his mind.

He couldn't even solve his problems, maybe a little luck and maybe this mentality would help him here, the sound of water was louder than before.

He had finally reached his destination.

A shallow river came into Ryan's view. It was very clear and transparent to the extent that the bottom of the water could be seen. The stream was moving slowly and drops were pouring out of it.

Long reeds were arranged by the water and formed a fence-like shape.

Ryan didn't wait any longer, he sat down by the river and dipped his hands in front of him in the shape of a heart. He didn't even think about whether the water was drinkable or not, it seemed clear, so it must be clean, but what if it isn't?!

He had no other choice. He should drink water.

A feeling of pleasure and coolness penetrated his body along with the cold.

Ryan sighed and whispered.

"It's cold!"

He filled his hands with water and raised it, as soon as he was about to drink water, the sound of grunting was heard from the other side of the river.
