Chereads / Mystic Midnight / Chapter 6 - Chapter 5

Chapter 6 - Chapter 5

Mystic awoke the next morning to arguing outside of her door. Getting out of her new bed, Mystic headed towards the door, reaching it, she flung the door open to see all five of her new brothers arguing with each other. They didn't notice her until she cleared her throat.

"May I ask why I awoke to you five arguing in front of my door?" Mystic asked as she looked at them one by one.

"We told Prince Morphius that you are our newfound sister, and he wants to meet you before you meet his parents, but Mason and Morrison think that it's a bad idea, because they don't believe that you are our sister yet." Maxwell said as he glared at the youngest duo.

"Well, I did meet him the other day in an informal matter, but I think it would be best to wait until my coming-of-age ceremony. If you are all okay with that?" Mystic asked as she looked at each of them. "It will give me time to learn a few things from my teachers and not embarrass my newfound family."

Maxwell and Mannen looked at her like she was crazy, Magus grinned at her, Mason looked shocked, and Morrison just raised the Midnight eyebrow at her. Mystic smiled at them and then when they all nodded their agreement, she went back into her room and shut her doors.

Roughly a half hour later, her maids knocked on the door, came in, and helped her get ready for breakfast and to meet her new teachers. When she left her room with her maids in tow, her brothers were all still in front of her doors, looking like princes' of the underworld in their dark suits. They were all handsome men, no wonder they were the talk of the capital along with the prince.

"Little sister, beautiful as always," Mannen said as he extended his arm to escort Mystic to breakfast.

"Big brother, a pain as always," Mystic said with a laugh, catching all of them off guard and causing them to all laugh.

"Just a heads up, Nicole, Anna, and Danylle will all be at breakfast so you can meet them." Maxwell said as he continued to laugh at my words.

"I can't wait to meet them and get to know them. So how old are you guys and your significant others?" Mystic asked as they headed to the dining hall.

"I am twenty-six and Nicole is twenty-four," Maxwell said.

"Mannen and I are twenty-four and Dani and Anna are twenty-three, and they are twins also even though they don't look like twins." Magus said for himself and Mannen.

"We are twenty-two and we have no fiancés nor wives." Mason said for Morrison and himself.

"Well, that was painless. I am eighteen and I don't have anyone either." Mystic said as they stopped in front of the dining hall.

The guards that stood at the front of the dining hall, opened the doors and let us in. Maxwell went first, heading towards a beautiful brunette, then Magus and Mannen, Magus went to a blond and Mannen went towards a fiery red head. Then Morrison and Mason walked into the room and then Mystic walked into the room, causing all the attention to fall upon her.

Mystic walked into the room and smiled at each female. They all three bowed their heads towards the Archduke and smiled at Mystic as she sat down.

"Hello, I'm your sister-in-law, Nicole." Maxwell's wife said as she smiled. Her blue eyes lit up like jewels in the morning sun, her blond hair shimmered like gold waves down her back, as her curvy body slowly sat down gracefully in a white and gold dress.

"I'm your soon-to-be sister-in-law, Anna." Mannen's fiancé said. Her red hair in a high ponytail that came down the center of her back like fire, her emerald eyes shone like new grass dripping in fresh dew. Her body was tight and neat under her black and red dress that accented her toned body.

"And I'm your soon-to-be sister-in-law, Danylle, but everyone calls me Dani." Magus's fiancé said as she gave a smile when Magus kissed her forehead and held her from behind. She had the same beautiful emerald eyes as her twin, but her brunette hair held brown, gold, and red in the light. She was shorter than her twin by at least three inches and was curvy like Nicole.

As Mystic sat down, she noticed that they all waited for her to sit across from her father, who was at the head of the table. Maxwell, who sat on their father's right, was seated, with Nicole, then Magus, and Dani. Mannen, who sat on the left of their father, was also seated, with Anna, then Morrison, and Mason.

As everyone ate and talked, Mystic observed them all, noticing that they all seemed so happy in their own little close nit family, and she felt like she was just an outsider. Their father looked at her several times as he talked to Nicole and Maxwell and noticed that she was picking at her food.

"Mystic, how did you find out that this was your true family?" Dani asked her as she ate.

"Well, I tried to sneak in and steal the pendent that father always wears and got caught and knocked out and then they did the vial test while I was restrained in the basement, and now I'm here." Mystic said as she summarized the events that had happened.

"Oh?" Nicole looked shocked, Dani and Anna looked like they were intrigued with my story. Dani, Anna, and Nicole looked at my brothers and father for an explanation, but they only showed embarrassed expressions.

"How were we to know that she was our sister without doing the proper testing?" Mannen said as Anna pinched his side, causing him to raise his voice to a higher octave.

"Don't blame them. None of us knew what happened or how any of this came to be." Mystic said as she finally started to eat.

"That was the process needed to know that she was of my blood. We leave after meeting your teachers." Their father stated.

"Leave?" Mystic asked.

"We are going to the palace to meet the King, Queen, and the Prime Minister." Their father said as he finished his meal.

"Oh? Am I dressed appropriately?" Mystic asked in a soft tone. She wore another sapphire dress that had gold lacing.

"You look beautiful, so you will not embarrass me. So, don't worry, Mystic." He replied to her.

"Thank you for easing my worries," Mystic replied to her father.

They finished their meal with light conversation, then Mystic and the Archduke left to go meet her new teachers after saying good-bye to the rest of their family.

Upon entering the sitting room, Mystic felt like she was in a forest of deep green with light brown accents. Pictures of forests and fairies hiding behind trees were hung around the room. Finally, her eyes landed on seven different people in the room.

"Archduke! It's a pleasure to teach another Midnight child. My name is Dante, My Lady, and I will teach you about dark magic." Dante stated as he walked close to Mystic and bowed deeply to her and her father. Dante was an older gentleman that had black and grey hair, a tall skinny appearance, and wore a black and white suit. He had a sharp face and deep laugh lines around his face and mouth. He stood roughly six foot like the other males in the room.

"I am Mistress Silvia, My Lady, and I will teach you about etiquette." She said as she curtsied. When she looked up, her plump face showed deep frown lines and crows feet around her eyes. She stood about five foot two inches and had dark brown hair with white hair scattered throughout her brown hair. She wore a deep blue dress that matched her dark blue eyes.

"I am Minna, your dancing instructor." Minna said as she came up and curtsied to them both. Minna had deep blue eyes, light blonde hair that came to her shoulders and stood roughly the same height as mistress Silvia. She on the other hand had deep laugh lines that etched her face and beamed at Mystic. She wore a light blue dress with gold embellishments that made her beauty stand out.

"I am Elvin, your fire magic teacher." Elvin said as he stood up from his spot on the love seat and bowed to them. Mystic glanced at him and noticed that he had flaming red hair and bright red eyes. He wore a black suit and had an impassive look on his face. He stood taller than mistress Sylvia at roughly six feet.

"I am Vesta, I will be your water magic instructor." Vesta said as she curtsied towards us. She had blue hair and beautiful blue eyes that shone like water. She wore a white dress with water patterns all around it. She stood at about five foot even. She was younger than Minna and Mistress Silvia but had a happy personality.

"I am Airian, your Air magic teacher, and I will teach you everything you don't know about air magic, My Lady." Airian said after Vesta. He stood well over six foot and had really long white hair down to his hips and white eyes. He seemed to have a playful personality as he snapped his fingers and made the Archdukes hair stand up in spikes, making her father chuckle.

"Airian and I went to school together and he has always been a pain in the bottom." Her father told her as he tried to fix his hair.

"Don't look so bored and I wouldn't mess with you Mordred," Airian said in a playful banter.

"I am Eldor, your earth magic teacher, tis a pleasure to meet you, My Lady." Eldor was older than everyone in the room, his height was unsure to Mystic's eyes. He had dark brown hair mixed with white into it, and deep brown eyes that shown with wisdom and power.

"My name is Mystic, and it is an honor to be in your care." Mystic said and gave a slight nod of her head, her long braid flopped over her shoulder, and fell to her ankles, still in its braid.

"Wow, she has really long hair." Sylvia stated with shock.

"How would you feel about cutting it shorter, Lady Mystic?" Elvin, her fire teacher asked.

"Um, do I really have to cut my hair?" Mystic asked as she held her hair in a tight grasp.

"Of course not, Lady Mystic." Eldor said as he slammed his cane upon the ground.

"No one is cutting her hair!" Her father said as he came to her hairs defense. "Now we need to get ready to go to the palace. You will start your studies tomorrow and they will have four tomorrow and three the next, along with your other studies."

"It was nice meeting you all and I look forward to studying with you all soon." Mystic said as she curtsied perfectly and left the room with her father to prepare for the visit to the Palace.
