Chapter 142 - Chapter 142 Death March

[Author's Note: From now on I will be writing from a third person point of view.]

[ City A ]

A few minutes after Colin met Lily...

Alice was sleeping peacefully in her room, after her fight with the undead cows, she has been mostly resting as their corrosive attacks still affected her body somewhat. As she slept peacefully, malevolent creatures with grey skin and carrying the scent of death were marching towards City A. A bulk of the malevolent creatures was made up of beasts, missing pieces of flesh and oozing a chilling black aura. At the head of the army was a two meters tall, grey skinned creature with two bony wings covered in pulsating red membranes. It's eyes were like two pools of black liquid that sent chills down the spine of any living creature that looked in it's eyes.

"Onward, my slaves." Master Foustus said, pointing his grey index finger forward. The undead rushed forward with a loud roar. They spread their [Life Senses] across their entire city, searching the city for any living creature to slay and add to their undead army. They soon sensed Alice, who was sleeping peacefully in her house.

"I knew it, that powerful creature of darkness is no longer here, only a weak creature of red." Master Foustus said with a sinister smile and a red glow appeared in the two pools of darkness that he called eyes. He raised his hand into the air and a black ball of demonic energy and corrosion formed in it, as the destructive attack was forming, Alice's eyes shot open her instincts flared with danger. She looked through the window, looking at the streets that were bathed in the morning sun, she could see over a hundred undead creature's marching outside, but her vision quickly focused on one creature in particular.

'Shit.' She thought as she recognized the tier 4 undead, that Colin warned her about. She quickly grabbed the sword and ran downstairs, but it was already too late. The Corpse Lord threw the corrosive ball towards the house and it traveled at an incredible speed, in a matter of seconds, the ball crashed into the house and exploded into a black cloud. The entire house was covered in this black cloud and soon the entire house was reduced to nothing but a pile of dust.

"Interesting, the weak creature of red survived. Find her slaves." Master Foustus shouted and his undead minions quickly ran after Alice.

Alice barely managed to get out by using both [Blood Rush] and [Demons Pride]. Luckily, none of the corrosive mist touched her or else it wouldn't matter whether she escaped the house or not, they both would have shared the same fate.

'That was close.' Alice thought as she hid in the shade of a building. The sun had already risen above the horizon, ushering the start of a new day, and while this should have been a joyous occasion, for Alice it just made her situation more dire.

'I need to bring them somewhere where there is little to no sunlight, like a huge building or a.....' Her thought process when she spotted a manhole covering a distance away in the middle of the streets.

'Nooooo.' Alice groaned internally but she knew she didn't have much time to ponder as she could smell the scent of rot getting closer and she could here the feet of many creatures rushing her way. With another groan, she turned into mist and this time even her sword turned into mist as well. The mist entered the sewers through the holes in the manhole cover and luckily for Alice, Colin thought her the [Senses Manipulation] trair. A couple of undead wolves saw this and quickly howled, signaling that they have found the runaway.

"She is not very important. Ten of you slaves will stay here and slay her, make sure to not destroy her body too much so that I can make her into my slave. The rest of you, follow me, we are going to destroy those radiant creatures." Master Foustus said and all the undeads except ten ghouls, followed after Master Foustus to City B.

'This is bad.' Alice thought panickedly and instantly activated her telepathic connections.

[Colin, Synthia, we have a problem.]

'Now this is interesting, should I stay here or should I go after the Corpse Lord? Hmm, I should go after the Corpse Lord.' The little woman said and chased after Master Foustus while in an almost invisible stat
