I grabbed the priest by his collar and lifted him into the air while gazing directly in his eyes.
"P-p-plea-se..." He mumbled as he shook in fear under my iron clad grasp.
"This is the second you pissed me off. The first time, I let you off easy but this time...." I said and my eyes glowed an even fiercer red as I raised my fist and he shivered even more, infact all the priests did. At some point since I arrived, all of them had started kneeling on the ground with their faces held down, not a single one dared to look me in the eyes.
"W-wait." Just as I was going to punch the priest to oblivion, I heard a shout. Turning my head, I saw Kirt shakily walking towards me.
"Please don't kill him, I'll make sure he never does this again. You have my word." Kirt said while staring in my eyes. As he stared into my eyes, I started to wonder if he was not feeling the effects of [Demon Eyes] but on closer inspection I could see sweat dripping from his forehead and his knees shaking. He was scared, really scared, he was just good at hiding it and I also suspect that he was feeling the effects of my skill less than the priests were due to being at a higher tier.
"What do you guys think?" I said and looked over at Alice and Synthia who were standing beside each other along with the other three saints.
"Beat the living crap out of him." Alice said, her eyes glowing an intense red. This was the first time I had seen her so pissed off and I doubted it was just because of what this guy was saying.
'What exactly happened while I was evolving?' I wondered then I looked over at Synthia who hasn't said anything yet. She looked at Kyle for a few seconds with a perplexed expression then she just sighed.
"Just let him go." She said while rubbing her eyebrow.
"Well then Kirt it seems you got your wish but remember this, you owe me." I said and dropped the priest. Kirt nodded his head and then helped the priest up and they both walked over towards Synthia. The other priests also took this chance to get away as well and they all ran over towards Synthia. As they walked over Alice glared at all of them making a few of them shiver while Synthia gave them a blank stare and I could only discern one emotion emanating from her...disappointment.
"Everyone except for Claire, Roxy and Tim head back to the mansion. Kirt make sure that your friend doesn't try something like this again." Synthia said and as she said the last part her eyes glowed.
"Yes, lady Synthia." Kirt said with a small bow and then he left along with all the priests.
"Now then let's talk." Synthia said and looked at me with a scrutinizing gaze.
"What do we have to talk about?" I said, playing dumb.
"Let's see, you are now a tier 4, if I remember correctly your race should be Demon Noble or Demon Lord, and that means you've chosen a family." Synthia said her voice increasing with each word.
"And since when do you have a tattoo?" Alice said
"Tattoo? What tattoo?" I asked with a raised eyebrow, she walked towards me and poked my left pec. I looked down but I couldn't see it, which I should have expected.
"I'm gonna need a mirror to see it." I said and she just shrugged.
"Ahem, I think we have more important things to talk about than your tattoo." Synthia said with a sense of urgency.
"What are you so worried about? It's not like I'm gonna suddenly attack you because I joined a family." I said
"Yes, it does. Demon kings can communicate to their family members through [Telepathy]." Synthia said worriedly
"Don't worry about it." I said in a calm voice, this was the first time I saw her scared but I could understand why. If more hordes of demons like Hans' were to attack they would be done for. From the looks of it, she has lost more than half of her priests were killed in this battle alone, how many would remain if they faced another attack?
"And why not?" She almost shouted
"I didn't join any of the Demon families." I said and everyone looked at me with a surprised look on their faces.
".....what do you mean you didn't join any of the families?" She asked with a frown
"It turns out you can create your own family and so I did just that. And before you ask for the specifics don't." I said
"Well that's a relief, but I can't say I'll be sleeping easy tonight." She said with a sigh
"And by the way Alice and I will be leaving the city tomorrow." I said and she squinted her eyes at me.
"Why?" She asked
"Every single building in the city was destroyed or partially destroyed so the only logical choice is to go to city A which is closest." I said
"Fine, whatever. Just be careful...both of you, just because you're a tier 4 now that doesn't mean you are invincible." She said and I nodded her head.
