It was like cutting butter until Alex connected with the thick skin of the creature, which was only getting superficially cut. The young elf's mist blade wasn't long enough to hit a vital organ.
The monster kicked without looking and almost hit Alex in the groins, but the young man dodged it, slicing the creature's knee with an extended swipe. Knowing Alex's position, the monster swung his blade in a vast arc, missing his head for just a centimeter.
The Devil's Hand Host ducked the blow and rolled, but the creature kept slicing the air, ignoring its white fur becoming black with fire. The monster had the killing intent that one has when one wants to kill an insolent cockroach, but Alex wasn't one.
