Mount Olympus
The gods had gathered in the throne room watching how the biological weapon dubbed doomsday by the mortals, had taken down most of earths conventional weapons that were used to try and subdue or destroy it. Even though most of the humans no longer worshiped them, they still kept tabs on humanity helping them from the shadows much like gifting humanity with Wonderwoman, who kept them safe. So when Ares came and informed them about the weapon from Apokolips, all the gods present had gathered to take a vote on whether to hand out help or not.
"It appears you were mistaken son, humanity seem to be able to handle themselves without our help." Hera told her son Ares from her throne. Ares had taken note of Doomsday the moment it set foot in Earths orbit and had rushed the information to his parents, the king and queen, Zeus and Hera. He had hoped they would send some of their Olympian guards to help slay the beast after the other gods had voted on it. It would be a glorious battle in deed and he would feed off of it thus gaining enough power to finally take over as the ruler of Olympus. He knew the Justice League would not be able to contain it, even with the help of that kryptonian, Superman, who thought he was a god just because he had extra ordinary abilities under the yellow sun. He however did not anticipate the arrival of of the new heroes, especially one who looked eerily familiar to him and the other gods.
"Who is that…?" The goddess Aphrodite asked much to the dismay of her husband Hephaestus. They all watched Thor engage in a fierce battle with Doomsday. His control of the elements made the gods curious about him. The only other person they knew that had that kind of power was Shazam who granted to them by the great wizard who guarded the seven sins. Aphrodite was known to bed a number of people, both men and women. Her husband Hephaestus was aware of this and did not mind since he also viewed it as a privilege to marry the most beautiful goddess among them while he was not really pleasing to look at.
"I believe my protégé knows the answer to that." Hera answered taking note of how Wonderwoman arrived with the strange hero. The other gods were watching the proceedings silently each consumed by their own thoughts. "He looks eerily familiar to Thor, the mythical god of thunder and prince of Asgard." Hera answered after a moment of silence.
At the mention of Thor's name, the gods eyes widened out of recognition. From their childhood, they were taught about Asgards mythology. They even had a huge statue of All father, Odin in Mount Olympus and small sculptures of Thors statue.
"Nonsense! We all know those are just tales told to encourage warriors to battle." Zeus bellowed out. He should know since he was king of the gods and knew everything about them. Once he had become of age his parents had told him all about Asgard and their courage during battle. It was the first tale they were told as he had also done with his children.
"He is definitely a god…who ever he is." Hera pointed out upon seeing Doomsday getting frustrated by the man wielding a hammer which was eerily similar again to that of Thor. Zeus scoffed, "I will be the judge of that" he declared. I will not let some imposter descecrete the name of our legend. He thought knowing it was just one of those Earths heroes who was an imposter.
"Interesting" Ares spoke up when Iron man and Ben joined the fight. "I have never seen such a creature before." He continued motioning for Four arms who was now fighting Doomsday while the others evacuated the remaining civilians.
"It is probably a new alien recruited by the justice league. Heroes are joining their cause at an alarming rate." Hera spoke out to which they agreed for a moment before Ben changed into Supreme surprising them again. "He is some kind of shapeshifter…a powerful one at that." Hephaestus pointed out. He should know since he is familiar with every powerful weapon or person on earth and this one had the potential to become one.
"His current form is eerily similar to that of Superman.. even the abilities he seems to possess." Hephaestus pointed out as Doomsday was about to be overwhelmed by the force of the attacks it was experiencing. Zeus on the other hand was very quiet observing the new beings or heroes.
They watched as Ben changed again to Cannonbolt before proceeding to completely neutralize Doomsday by literally pummeling it repeatedly to the ground before changing again to Supreme.
I have to get my hands on that watch Hephaestus thought having already figured out that was the source of his shapeshifting abilities. Hephaestus was the best weapons craftsman in Olympus and some may say the whole universe. He was known for creating the most powerful weapons in the universe such as Wonderwoman's armor and the Annihilator which was not surprisingly commissioned by Ares. Initially he did not know the watch was the primary source of his power but when Ben tapped it before changing into Cannonbolt he immediately put the pieces together. It had to work behind the same principle as the Green lanterns ring, something he will have to find out when he gets access to it.
"Summon your protégé" Zeus ordered looking at his wife Hera who merely nodded having anticipated being given that task. Zeus wanted to know who those new justice league recruits were and whether or not they were a threat to humanity or them. The other gods were really curious and intrigued about this new turn of developments, the justice league had just neutralized one of Darkseids most powerful weapons. They had witnessed how Doomsday had decimated an entire planet filled with one of the most recognized and powerful army in the universe without breaking a sweat so when it was neutralized by a handful of heroes, it was time they re-evaluated the Justice leagues true potential and decide on how to handle them lest they become too powerful.
No one noticed when Ares had slipped out of the great hall nor where he went.
Watchtower
Supergirl was angry and confused currently heading to the hanger to take off and head home. She had heard and seen enough for the day. How can a watch allow him to turn into a kryptonian? Is he an alien or is that watch an alien technology? If it is then it must be similar to that of green lanterns. And why do only the founding members of the league know this? What else are they keeping from us? Her train of thought was cut off when she saw the holding cell with the monstrous being inside still unconscious. She came to a stop and stared at it. It was grotesque and huge much like the green being that had knocked out her cousin was. The bone like protrusions all over its body were sharp and long and with it being able to pierce Superman's skin, she had no doubt it could do the same to her. She was starting to reconsider her earlier plan of wanting to help during the fight, now understanding she would have most likely not faired very well against the brute that needed three heavy hitters to take it down.
"Cool.. isn't it?" Bens voice sounded from behind her. She heard someone approach from behind and thought it was her cousin coming to scold her for her behavior just minutes ago.
She was partially relieved that it was Ben, not that she wanted to see him but because she could not face her cousin at the moment, he taught her better and he was was probably disappointed in her outburst. And to think I told him to treat me like an adult she thought mentally slapping herself. "What is it?" she asked still looking at Doomsday.
"It is a biological weapon made from Kryptonian DNA and the suns radiation." Ben explained taking one step back incase she gets offended again. He had changed to Ben before approaching her reasoning that she probably won't be comfortable talking to Supreme.
Supergirl did not move an inch, she was processing what Ben had just told her. "How? Are there other Kryptonians that could have survived apart from us?" she asked Ben, her voice sounding a little optimistic. She thought of her home world and Krypton and how she would have done anything to save them. If there was a minute chance that there were other Kryptonians out there that managed to escape the fate of their planet then they should be rescued wherever they ended up, it was all she and Clark could do to help them out.
"I'm afraid I don't have an answer for the second question." Ben replied honestly. Trixx could not calculate or determine whether there were other Kryptonians out there. She did not have enough information to go on with. Their initial attempt to hack the database from Oa was unsuccessful as Trixx was forcibly kicked out of the system before she could fully hack or adapt to their coding and programming language. It was all not in vain as Trixx was able to plant an undetectable bug in their system though it was currently inactive waiting to be activated when the time was right so that it would not be detected and removed, something Ben knew could be done. The Guardians had also patched up the backdoor she had used to gain entry into their system which made Ben and Trixx realize just how technologically evolved they were. It was clear to Ben and Iron man, who was with him during the hack that the Guardians were very powerful and that was why they were responsible for peace keeping all over the universe with their headquarters, OA, located in the middle of the universe. Trixx calculated response about that particular incident was that she did not put much of her processing power to that task which led for her to be easily overridden by them who amped up their processing power to maximum. Trixx assumption on all the technology being lightyears behind hers was shaken a little.
Supergirl turned away from Doomsday and looked at Ben waiting for him to continue. "Its DNA signature suggest that it was artificially created in a scientific lab and subjected to various evolutionary tests in a very harsh environment which is responsible for its adaptability to any harm done to it." Ben explained to her.
"What does that mean?" she asked alarmed at the insinuation and if it was what she thought he meant then they could all be in grave danger.
"It can only be killed or neutralized as in our case, once using any method before it adapts to what caused it harm." Ben confirmed her thought. "So it can wake up at any moment!?" Supergirl shrieked fearful of the damage it could cause to the watchtower and its occupants.
"Don't worry…it will take a long time before it can regenerate the fried part of its brain." Assured Ben to the freaking out hero. That was one detail the rest of the leaguers did not need to know about otherwise they would all panic.
"How do you know that!?" Supergirl asked Ben, grateful that he had turned back to his original form. She had been meaning to ask him about his transformations among other things and possibly apologize to him for the slap she dished out. Not that! He deserved it she chided herself.
"Trixx told me" He answered to Supergirl confused face at the mention of the name. "There is no member of the justice league with that name." She said thoughtfully quickly recalling all the names of the members. Kryptonians were blessed with an extra ordinary brain way more developed then a normal humans brain. They could contain and store any information they came across with and remember them anytime they needed to.
Supergirl maintained her straight face when Ben mentioned Trixx, she could not connect that name with anyone she knew which only meant Ben knew her outside of their work place, most likely he met her in the fundraiser ball they had attended. Her anger started rising again at the thought of the ball and the insinuation emerging from all this.
Ben had been watching the different emotions subtly flicker on her face before settling on anger, "She is the AI in my watch." Ben blurted out before they had a repeat of what happened some minutes ago. Supergirl narrowed her eyes at him. Everyone knew AI are integrated in almost every technology on Earth, however all of them are not powerful enough to determine something as complex as Doomsdays physiology, even the AI from the watchtowers super computer.
"Seriously!? Is that the best you can come up with?" Supergirl asked anger rapidly rising. She had heard more convincing excuses from criminals than his. Ben sighed.
"Trixx… help me out here." He spoke up to no one in particular that Supergirl could see. "Certainly. How are you Supergirl?" Trixx voice sounded from the omnitrix.
"Come on.. My phone greets me every time I power it on." She said smirking at Ben. "I understand if you do not want your source of information to be known" She was friends with Lois Lane meaning she understood how sources of information could be very valuable in certain instances.
"Says the girl who has not picked up her phone 34 times when the username Douchebag, who is actually a very successful entrepreneur attempts to contact her" Trixx stated while Supergirl turned a deep shade of red from embarrassment and turned to look at Doomsday who was more interesting than Ben at that time. "Trixx! What the hell!" Ben gritted his teeth while reprimanding Trixx for that statement. "I'm really sorry for that, there seems to be some technical error with her programming right now.." Ben attempted to apologize only to be interrupted by Trixx.
"My diagnostic shows all systems running at 100%, the error you are speaking of has not been registered." Trixx spoke up much to Bens dismay. Can this night get any worse!? Ben inwardly thought. "It is okay, apparently I had a wrong assumption of it." Supergirl dismissed him.
"Thank you Supergirl, studies show that it is customary for an apology to be issued out if one is on the wrong" Trixx acknowledged her form of apology showing just how advanced she was. Supergirl turned to Ben and looked at the watch on his wrist with intrigue, the nerd in her coming to life at how an AI can be so advanced akin to the one that was in the Fortress of solitude who appeared in form of Superman's father.
Ben noticed her staring at his watch and figured he owed her an explanation since she was now obviously in the loop. "I guess I have a lot of explaining to do, huh?" Ben half joked wanting to lighten up the situation. "You think!?" Supergirl arched an eyebrow at him while folding her arms waiting for the explanation. Ben gestured towards the Cafeteria where they could talk in peace since everyone else was kind of busy from the unexpected guest they were hosting.
