... After I removed my spear from the zombie I killed. I saw a familiar face.
It was Myloe. He had turned into a zombie.
"Myloe," I screamed out of control. The other zombies noticed me, they removed their faces from the dripping rain.
"No, it can't be," I said taking a few steps backward. The zombie that looked like Myloe came after me with only one intention, which was to infect me. I had no choice but to throw my spear at it.
My mini spear landed on the zombie's neck making it stagger a bit.
"This can't be real. It can't be " I said believing what I saw was a dream. I shook my head. I forgot I was soaking wet and still getting beaten by the rain.
I closed my eyes rapidly, blinking very fast and I shook my head to see if my mind wasn't playing tricks on me. Sadly, I figured out it wasn't, it was clear that who I saw was a friend.
"Myloe, snap out of it. You are alright. I know it" I couldn't cry. The one I called Myloe just growled at me, as he aimed to infect me.
Is Kin seeing this? I asked myself. I don't know I replied to myself, taking gentle steps backwards.
The zombie that looked like Myloe was relatively slow. I wondered why, until I caught a glimpse of its legs, it was filled with an unwelcoming sight that sent unthinkable questions to my brain. Both its legs were eaten to the bones. I saw its bone sticking out. The upper knee was exposed to the outside. I placed my right hand on my mouth, trying not to scream in agony for my friend.
The other zombies were distracted by the rain again. They did not notice me.
I saw the pain in Myloe's eyes even though he was now a zombie. At that, I still felt like I could talk to him and ask him questions about Diana, and how he turned but that was unattainable, it was impossible. He was dead even though he looked like he could still converse with me. He was gone, gone from this world, and now he was what he feared the most.
My worst nightmare and thoughts came to me. Have they gotten camp? I was afraid, my body was paralyzed with fear. I didn't remember that I was dying a few minutes before.
"I don't know how to do this," I said, moving closer to zombie Myloe. I removed my spear and ran towards Kin.
The ground was slippery with the mud and the dripping rain. I was cautious as I ran, I tried my best not to trip. The zombies that were distracted by the rain got distracted by another thing, me. They charged at me like I was a thief who stole something priceless from them. Since they weren't that smart, they fell as they ran due to the muddy ground.
I saw Kin, he was smiling at me when I saw his smile. I figured out he didn't know about Myloe. He probably thought I finished the job.
"You did it " Kin was still smiling. I did not answer him. I stopped and handed him his knife.
I had to go back and finish the zombies that were falling continuously. I went back to where I came from.
I turned to look at Kin, He squinted his eyes, and his squint was followed with a frown. He had seen Myloe or what he thought was Myloe. He had the exact expression as mine. The only difference was that I couldn't see my expression but I could tell and I could feel it.
I looked away from Kin. The zombies managed to find a way to run through the mud without falling, they weren't heading towards me. They were going for Kin.
Kin froze, not knowing whether what he saw was a lie or if it was the truth. His eyes were fixed on zombie Myloe, then it turned to me. I Knew what his eyes meant and I did not like it.
Zombie Myloe was staggering, it was coming at me, but slowly. I could run two laps around the Forest before it reaches me. I ran back to Kin minding my steps.
I threw my spear at a Zombie that was very, very close to Kin. The spear landed, precisely where I wanted it to. It's head.
I let my guard down and one of the zombies went after me, it veered toward me. Its teeth opened like it was about to open a cap on a tight bottle.
There was no time to get to my spear, I merely dodged the incoming zombie. The zombie fell face-first into a puddle of water. I jumped at the zombie and stepped on its head before it could raise it from the puddle.
I kept on stepping on the back of its head repeatedly, but that wasn't enough to kill it. I moved back as fast as possible.
The zombie sluggishly stood to its feet, searching for the one who had the intention to smash its head, I couldn't tell the gender of that particular zombie. Its face had decayed so that it almost looked mummified but its body was still going through the process of decay.
"Wait what if this is Diana?" I asked myself loudly. I immediately looked at the torn and brown clothes of the zombie, If it had any resemblance to that of Diana. Thankfully it did not, it looked nothing like hers.
The zombie used to be a male, I could tell by its worn-out dress. Well, it was time to end it.
I ran towards the zombie I threw my spear to, it was dead on the ground. I removed my spear from the zombie. Black and rotten blood followed out of the hole on its head.
The zombie I stepped on was now at arm's length. I held my spear, waiting, waiting eagerly for it to come close to me.
Shrunnnkkk! Was the sound I heard as my spear pieced the zombie's head. The zombie knelt to the ground and fell on its face making the spear came out the back of its head.
I glanced at Kin, he was wrestling with the last zombie. The zombie was above him with its teeth out trying to get to him.
Kin rolled it off him, he was now above the zombie. The knife I gave him. I saw it was in his left hand.
"Hahhhnn!" He screamed as he stabbed the zombie in the skull, the zombie's blood splattered on his face, he kept on stabbing the zombie until its head was disfigured.
"Kin" I called my friend. He was done killing the zombie.
My friend threw his knife away, he was coming towards me with no emotions in his face.
I felt a hard blow on my face that knocked me to the ground in the mud. It was from Kin and he was fuming with rage.
