In the great Minotaur Nation, Ainz walked through the streets, a group of high-level undead guarding him. Where was he heading? towards the resting ground of the Minotaur sage. The other players resting grounds were hard to find, but the Minotaur was different, after some digging Ainz was able to locate it.
'Shalltear appearances gave me a reason to appear, i can also use the reason for taking the player boy away to rest as an excuse for what I'm going to do... but this is scary. Dracula believes there should be a total of 6 groups of players. the 6 gods, 8 great kings, this Minotaur Sage, and those two players from 200 years ago. it seems like every 100 years new players come.' Ainz thought while sighing to himself.
'I'm working with the dwarfs, so our blacksmithing capability is improving. Nfirea has managed to create a red potion, and the scrolls... thats one place we are struggling. I should have Dracula's head to see the best scrolls man. there is also wild magic we have to study. at this rate, only Dracula would be able to use it.' Ainz thought while looking at the sky, there were so many things to do and worry about. it was a bit stressful. they should have waited a year before doing all of this, but that was too late.
Wild Magic is the ancient or primal magic that existed in the New World long before the introduction of Tier Magic. It may even perhaps be known as the magic of the soul or the magic of the dragons. This type of magic tends to go by many different names. They're considered to be one of the powers alongside Martial Arts, Talents, and Runecraft that did not exist in YGGDRASIL.
Six hundred years ago, before Tier Magic, Wild Magic was looked upon as the dominant magical art in the New World. The masters of Wild Magic, in particular, were the True Dragon Lords. The most powerful Dragons, the True Dragon Lords, made the secret treasures of dragonkind, possibly by using Wild Magic. No one but the True Dragon Lords knew the primordial magic, the secrets of the New World.
However, Wild Magic fell into disuse when the players from YGGDRASIL introduced the more effective and efficient power known as Tier Magic. The decline of Wild Magic became even more apparent after the Eight Greed Kings defeated the True Dragon Lords. In the end, Wild Magic was lost and the New World was defiled with the Tier Magic the Eight Greed Kings had spread.
And because of the genocidal slaughter of most of the Dragon Lords by the Eight Greed Kings five hundred years prior, there are now only a few known users of Wild Magic left. The remaining Wild Magic users are the surviving Dragon Lords who did not participate in the war against the Eight Greed Kings and their descendants like Draudillon Oriculus.
Wild Magic differs from Tier Magic, as instead of mana, it requires the caster to release souls for one to perform the casting of a powerful spell. In other words, Wild Magic was different from modern magic because it was powered by souls, rather than needing mana to cast. Although the cost of spellcasting via Wild Magic is grisly, the results speak for themselves. The more beings or souls offered up as living sacrifices, the stronger the magic when released. However, using Wild Magic can also end up destroying the link to the user's soul, as well as making the casting of stronger magic a risky gamble in and of itself.
Although it is magic with many mysteries, it seems that one can confirm that the phenomenon consumes physical strength (HP) instead of magic power (MP) when in use by observing via [Life Essence].
On the other hand, if the casting of Wild Magic is used on specific players who are in possession of a World Item respectively, it will not in any way affect the holders whatsoever. However, for players without ownership over a World Item of their own, practitioners of Wild Magic should be able to affect them unless they have world protection. Likewise, wielding the power of Wild Magic meant its practitioners were also safely immune from the effects of World Items or other users of Wild Magic.
(A/N: thats not made up,)
For this reason, both Ainz and Dracula believed that Wild Magic might give one the power to recreate world-class items. but further research was needed, currently, they were searching for the Platnum Dragon Lord,
With the exception of True Dragon Lords, to gain access to Wild Magic, one must either possess the blood of a Dragon Lord or be born with an innate Talent that can let potential individuals use it.[8] Still, even if a person does possess such heritage, the weaker the descendants are, the greater the number of sacrifices of lives required to perform Wild Magic with estimates upwards of millions of souls. As a result, weaker descendants like Draudillon Oriculus had difficulty utilizing it properly.
Fortunately, the pure-blooded, True Dragon Lords can cast Wild Magic with ease compared to those who were hybrids with partial dragon blood. Nevertheless, due to the intrusion of YGGDRASIL players and their magic influencing the New World, has somehow made the True Dragon Lord's ability to use Wild Magic difficult. According to Platinum Dragon Lord's words, now, with the powers of Wild Magic tainted and twisted, it would be very difficult to create items that exceed the realms of humanity.
As they were specially made from Wild Magic, they cannot be measured under the same regulations as YGGDRASIL items. Therefore, Wild Magic items weren't assigned YGGDRASIL numerical values which are used to categorize the strength or ranking between those magic items. While so, it was believed by Fluder that the Dragon Lord's ancient magic could possibly resurrect the dead back to life without incurring the loss of life force compared to Tier Magic which does.
there were a few questions Ainz and Dracula had about items created by Wild Magic, were they considered pseudo-world tier items? Gazef had a ring that was created using wild magic, Ainz having a theory had used a world-class item on him, Gazef was not affected as if the ring was a world-class item.
this further explained why the Slane Theocracy, even with how powerful they were couldn't act freely. after all, the Platnum Dragon Lord was watching them closely. The Platinum Dragonlord was immune to the effect of world-class items, as he could use wild magic, so the mind control from that world-class item would have done nothing to him. For this reason, the Salne Theocracy had Antilene look like their true ace in the card,
If the dragon lord knew their world-class items, he would have taken it. yes, it was limited to the hands of humans, and wouldn't affect him. but that didn't make it any less dangerous, he would have locked it away without a second thought.
Ainz walked to a tumble, it was held and looked as if it was falling apart. entering, he walked down some stairs where he found a lot of coffins that belonged to note-worthy undead... Ainz was excited. he has been wanting to research bringing players back to life. could it be done? that was the most important part.
'so far there are 4 groups of players. 600 years ago, the 6 gods, one of them had the ability the goal of all life was death. an ability Antilene could use thanks to her talent.' Ainz thought while walking towards the center of the room.
'100 years later the 8 Greed kings appeared. another 100 years later, this guy appeared. 200 years after the leader of the 12 heroes appeared along with his friend. that leaves 2 payers who should have come 100 years ago, and 300 years ago.' Ainz thought, although it was a guess on if players came every 100 years, it was worth looking into
"... I feel nothing," Ainz said softly, this was a player from his home world. but he felt nothing, he was thinking he would hesitate or something. but Dracula was right, he was almost completely gone all he cared for was Nazarick. the same was true for Dracula, all he cared for was Nazarick. He was currently Evileye, someone he had feelings for... but for Nazarick, he would kill her without a second thought,
Nazarick was their home, a place where they found a place they could belong. Ainz was more than willing to die for it, Dracula was too. this was their everything, the place they spent countless hours working.
It wasn't Dracula who had the children be throne to be with the worst, No Dracula still had some humanity within him. normally Ainz avoided getting children to offer... but remember how he almost had to kill Shalltear... Let's say if not for Dracula, the whole kingdom would have been erased. citizen and all, no survival, that was his main plan for them.
But Dracula was soft. yes, having those children become assassins was doing them good. he took pity on Antilene so he gave her a chance to save a few people, that was all. Dracula was soft, thats because unlike Ainz, Dracula cared to know a person. in Dracula's eyes, not knowing someone to the fullest is a waste as everyone could be useful to Nazarick.
Ainz was about to touch the coffin when suddenly the room shook. what looked like cannons came from the walls, shooting cannon balls at Ainz. Ainz didn't waste a second and stopped time, before he opened the coffin, took out the body of the player, and left, as soon as time began to move as it should, he teleported away.
'bring back someone who had been dead for so long would need a wish... I will ask to take Dracula's book of wishing... I wonder if the time needed for a wish to be granted could be shorted if we worked together.' Ainz thought calmly while giving the body to Nabe who took it away.
he didn't think much about the bubby trap, it was not uncommon to have traps set to protect those resting from being rubbed off their stuff while they rested. Of Course, there might be the chance that this might not be the true player's body, so Ainz was going to have the whole area searched.
but he had another matter to get to, there was a meeting being built. so he heads to it, as Momon, and there Calca, Jircniv, and the other kings had appeared, all scared that the crazy woman in love would come knocking on their doorsteps.
"Is the news true?" Calca asked softly, to which Momon nodded not ending to ask her what she meant by her words. everyone here got news of Honyopenyoko trying to bring Dracula back to life, and stronger than ever. but would need to kill hundreds first.
"Dracula would need a lot of bodies to come back to life. the spell she is using... odd. Dracula has died by all means. she is slowly restoring him to life, it's almost like Dracula is being reborn. he should have spent the past few days turning to walk, this is the sight captured by the undead." Momon said while he had an undead that had recorded everything he played everything back
these undead were low-tier undead, they were called water flies. Ainz had created them to help act like security cameras. they can replay images they caught back, but even the lowest grade of health ability can hide from them. never heard of these undead? thats because they were not undead, Rubedo created them. they were pretty much Automaton, playing as undead.
Rubedo wanted to join her father outside, but she was not allowed. in the end, she was allowed to create these things and have eyes just about anywhere. sadly it had some limitations so they couldn't be everywhere, but it was better than nothing.
Anyway, a play of Dracula being ordered to kill played out. but everyone noticed how Dracula was missing attacks, attacking the air, attacking space, and sometimes hitting his target. Dracula was also slow as if too much movement was something he couldn't process doing.
"For Dracula to come back to life, he needs a large amount of life, right? Shalltear went from my kingdom over there... is she heading towards the beast man nation?" Calca asked while looking at the beast king, who this time came with some of his people, instantly, the beast king's eyes narrowed at her words
"yes, the blood of stronger people seems to have a bigger effect. so we should all be able to expect Dracula to come knocking on our door... sir Momon, what are you planning to do?" a crow beast man asked softly, speaking on behalf of his lord.
"I will head over... alone, AInz can't come. if Dracula appears somewhere else, Ainz would go there while I rush over. you also hold the biggest land compared to everyone here, so it's going to be troublesome to guess Dracula's move, but I will ask for the undead to wander the land searching." Momon said to which the cow bowed slightly grateful
"Sir Momon... there isn't much my kingdom could offer to help. but if you do think there is a way, I would do everything to help." Calca said serology, catching Ainz off guard
"were you and Dracula not on bad terms?" Momon asked with a raised eyebrow, to which Calca shook his head.
"It's weird... but Dracula annoyed me more so than one I have ever met compared 100 times over. yet oddly, I can't help but miss him. I guess we were friends in our stage way." Calca said softly, leaving Momon speechless for a moment, but he nodded his head
"you need not worry, even if it kills me... I will not let her dirty Dracula's body any longer." Momon said softly, Jircniv wanted to speak. he wanted to say Ainz should be the one to go, Ainz should be the one to die... but everyone here seemed to have grown to accept Ainz. well, that was simple. with bigger and bigger danger popping up, Ainz was not so scary anymore...
Dracula sat before Shalltear who was writing in a notebook. why? Dracula was tired of this girl not thinking before she acted. he didn't care as she cried, I just needed her to think far and deep. what she was writing down was her actions and trying to find her mistakes from them.
"Well, a simple walk turned out to be chaotic. Ainz will deal with everything else in that nation, we are to head to the beast man kingdom." Dracula said to which everyone nodded slightly, for times like this with nothing to do, they could do anything they wanted. Dracula on the other hand sat back and went over everything, he knew so far.
'my movements are unclear when not given orders. I had to guess where the target was, which caused me to hit the air many times. It was almost like the further they were the harder it was for me to get that feeling that they were there. and sometimes it was false, it is also harder when I have that feeling that they are everywhere.' Dracula thought calmly while fighting, this feeling this feeling is sharpened thanks to the danger of death. Sighing, he looked at the necklace of Wisdom, before putting it on. yes, it would weaken him, but it would help him learn far faster.
"so, what do you guys we should do at the Beast Man Kingdom? we need to cause the most chaos to draw out any big shot. when we got the beast king, it was quick giving him no chance to fight. so there could have been a powerhouse there we didn't know. we are free to do what we want, so I fear we might do something wrong. So mind sharing your mind?" Dracula asked Yuri who was standing at his side, waiting for an order.
"My lord, you can do no wrong. your wisdom and boundless." Yuri said with a bow, making Dracula take a deep breath.
"Ainz wisdom is, not me. I'm still new to all of this big-brain stuff, so what do you think?" Dracula asked while pulling out a map. Yuri bowed slightly and went on looked at the map for a moment, before speaking.
"We kill its king, surely that could draw out everything," Yuri said to which Dracula thought for a moment, before looking at the others, who nodded in agreement at Yuri's idea.
"not bad... but it doesn't sound perfect. what if there is a top-secret weapon that only the king could use?" Dracula asked calmly, to which Yuri went quiet. Dracula stretched his head for a moment, before looking towards Shalltear.
"maybe not using our hand should be the best way to go about this," Dracula said softly, making Shalltear pout, feeling attacked.
"let's say we just drop in the capital and go for slaughter right away and push towards the king's location. we could follow the same plan everywhere else. plus, we can even lower the beast man numbers. we would no longer have to worry about feeding these guys." Dracula said calmly thinking of how Ainz was pulling out his nonexistent hair at how he was going to get enough meat to feed billions.
"how much defeat are you going for?" Shalltear asked to which I smiled coldly,
"Ainza and the others will have a meeting about your next move, so they will be ready for our arrival. so let's go on to try and kill as many as we can, in the millions if possible... although I would have to kill them all. let's get a head start on them." Dracula said with a smile, to which Shalltear nodded slightly...
"Dracula, Slaughter them all." above a city filled with beast man, Shalltear, Dracula, and the masked Pleiades appeared. strangely, the beast-man city was human-like. most of the beast race did take on humanoid-like appearances, for example, the wolf stood on 2 legs and had opposable thumbs, allowing them to use tools and stuff. but they can get on all 4 legs, without trouble
Dracula following his soldiers shot down, tries to rely on his instincts to know when he can stop. but his instincts were not so sharp, he created a huge explosion, and soon some huge fall damage thanks to the necklace of wisdom. but he quickly healed while getting up and shot forward, and began a slaughter.
'it's getting sharper.' Dracula thought while jumping around, his instincts felt as if they were growing. it is small, but he was improving greatly as he kept trying, as if he was doing it 1,000 times over with each attempt.
'I should have gone to the dragon kingdom to learn about wild magic... imagine in I could combine wild magic with this necklace.' Dracula thought a smile forming behind his mask. he felt nothing from killing these guys, yes it was cruel, but if their death meant Nazarick would be better, why should he have second thoughts?
meanwhile, Yuri was standing at in the sky with Shalltear, the others moved to make sure they couldn't escape as Dracula had to kill them. Yuri was busy looking around, absorbing the city on Dracula's behalf.
'since when did the beast race get so smart?' Yuri thought feeling unease with how organized this kingdom was. this kingdom is huge, holding millions, CZ and the others would not be enough to hold such a huge crowd from escaping. but how could a beast man manage such a huge kingdom?
