"Guardians"
Somewhere in Seoul, two different memories suddenly flooded the minds of two individuals.
"Argh!"
They both groaned, feeling as if their heads were feeling being stabbed by a lot of needles.
The pain was excruciating, but they tried to remain calm and used their mana to alleviate the agony they were currently experiencing.
As the pain subsided, their heads continued to throb. They had seen glimpses of their past lives, replaying before their eyes.
Both of them instinctively placed their hands on their heads, as if suffering from a severe headache. Having witnessed the events of their past lives, they shared a single thought.
"Where's Seojun?" they both wondered simultaneously, realizing that they were in their apartment, the same hiding place they used in their previous lives.
"Dear, you too?" Lee Min Ye looked at her husband, who was in the same state as her.
"Yeah, me too... We're back... Hold on, what year is it?" Jason said, retrieving his phone from his pocket.
"2010," he murmured, shocked by the date displayed on his phone.
"What year is it, dear?" Lee Min Ye asked her husband, visibly shocked yet hopeful that they had truly returned.
"It's September 4, 2010," he replied, causing Lee Min Ye to groan in remembrance. She was recalling a memory she had long forgotten but couldn't fully grasp.
"Min Ye, are you okay? Does it still hurt?" her husband asked, concerned for her well-being.
It seemed that she had forgotten something of great importance.
(Author's Note: I'll tell you if you don't remember it... Just kidding! No spoilers! Though it's not.)
As the pain intensified, she finally remembered.
"Dear... You died," she whispered softly, making sure her husband could hear her.
"What? I died?" Jason asked, utterly bewildered. As far as he could recall, he was still alive... or maybe not.
Ugh!
Another wave of pain surged through Jason's head, even more intense than before. It felt as if needles were drilling into his skull.
"Argh!" he screamed, snapping his wife out of her thoughts.
She quickly wiped away her emotions and rushed to her husband, embracing him tightly.
"It's okay now, darling. Just breathe and take it slow," she reassured him with a smile. There was a golden light emanating from her body as she gradually healed her husband.
If anyone else had witnessed this, they might have mistaken Lee Min Ye for a goddess descended from above.
Feeling better now, Jason gazed at his wife in astonishment.
"I really... died," Jason said, leaving her slightly saddened.
"You did. You idiot," she replied, her eyes welling up with tears. She gently bumped her fists against his chest, lightly hitting him.
"Haha... At least I protected both of you," Jason said, ruffling his wife's hair to calm her down.
He realized that he had died in front of his wife. It was understandable that she would be upset, as he had left her alone with Seojun. However, he felt relieved knowing that he had at least protected them.
"So, what happened after that?" Jason asked his wife, who was still crying.
"After that, I don't remember. I fainted due to mana overload while I was healing you... But before I lost consciousness, I saw Seojun standing before me," she replied, wiping away her tears.
"But when I woke up, I was in a hospital, and Nara told me that Seojun had been forcibly abducted by order of the Hero Association President," she continued, but her words were interrupted by a sudden noise.

Both of them stared at the panel displaying something absurd, unable to help but comment.
"Oh well, we just have to guide Seojun on a different path, right? It shouldn't be difficult," Jason exclaimed, nodding his head.
"That won't be easy... But we have to do it," Lee Min Ye nodded, directing their gaze towards Seojun's room.
"This time, we're going to protect you, Seojun."
As they locked eyes, they smiled at each other and settled back into their seats to watch TV.
