Chapter 9 - Team Sebastian

It was a crazy couple of days.

Sebastian woke up when a ray of sunshine landed on his face.

This was a Monday, but as the fake CEO of YD, he was not expected to go to work early.

Even if he was a really hard-working CEO, he could probably still arrive later than his employees.

Sebastian never left Jen's apartment after that day, but that was not like what you think it was.

He was forced to take a couple of sets of "daily couple life" photos with Jen in different fluffy pajamas, and both of them got so tired that they just passed out before the night ended.

When Sebastian woke up the next morning, he felt like he was sinking into another episode of deep panic-

Jen was sleeping next to him, just like the day before, only this time she wasn't wearing something strange or chained up.

She seemed very peaceful, holding her pink flower-shaped pillow, balled up on the side of the bed.

"So she likes sleeping in a ball position... That must have been so uncomfortable for her yesterday then..." Sebastian couldn't help to blame himself again.

He wanted to make Jen some breakfast but her fridge had a strange selection of groceries that he couldn't even name sometimes. So he quietly waited for her to wake up.

He was planning to say goodbye after Jen woke up and go back to his own place, maybe look for Lynn to apologize for the trouble and ask what she was planning to do that day.

But the moment Jen woke up, she started acting like Sherlock had taken her spirit.

"It's time we solve this case, Shorty." Jen appeared in the living room, holding a whiteboard that she found all of a sudden.

"What case? And why is Shorty? I can't even fit into these pajamas, Jen, I don't know where you got this or who this belonged to. But that man was short."

"Oh that was just from an ex, he was indeed not very tall hahaha. But big temper for a small man. Anyways, tell me everything, who did you talk to when you planned our dinner?"

Sebastian realized Jen wanted to help him figure out who could have done this to them, but the more he told her about the day, the more suspicious everybody looked- they all had no direct motive, which meant they could have all done it.

Sebastian didn't want to go back to his fancy room that Lynn decorated anymore- he didn't know if the people working there could be trusted, or maybe he should hire a bodyguard of his own.

"Don't panic." Jen said, seeing the lights in Sebastian's eyes disappear, and he almost started to look the same as the day before when he was blaming himself, "Next Tuesday is the press conference, we will figure something out before that."

"I trust you, Jen." Sebastian said, out of the blue, "You joked the other day that maybe you were in on it, but I don't believe that to be true. You are really trying to help me now. You trusted me. You could have sent me to the police, but you didn't..."

"Ok, OK, stop, you are spinning again. I know you owe me a lot more dinners. But you need to get your priorities straight, before the conference. Here."

Jen started drawing on the whiteboard and listing out all the possibilities-

Plan A: If everything goes well

Jen will appear next to Sebastian as his assistant or a trainee at YD. Once her photos are with the press, even when the tape was leaked in the future, just say that they were a couple back in the day and it was over.

Plan B: If someone shows up during the conference with the tape

Jen would act hurt and ashamed, Sebastian steps in to shout at the creep who recorded it, and says that they were dating- or they are dating?

Jen looked at Sebastian to see his reaction, but he seemed obsessed with Jen's handwriting, how she drew her A with a little curve on the side...

"FOCUS, Mr. CEO, your future and YD's future is in your hands... Do you have friends that you could call?"

"No... I left too early, the friends I had are all gone now." Sebastian shook his head, like a little child abandoned on the side of the street, "I have no one."

"Ehhh." Jen wanted to scream at whoever sent Sebastian away when he was younger, but that shouldn't be the point now, "I will call a couple of my friends. We still have time today. They need to be ready for tomorrow."

"What would they do?" Sebastian loved the idea of meeting Jen's friends but he had no idea what was going on.

"Oh sweetie, you are going to need your own team. Team Sebastian."
