Lynn was in an awfully good mood today.
Sebastian had finally returned from years of not being around, and he seemed to be getting along with everybody- the help, the assistants, and especially Jen, the person that she chose to keep him company.
"They are even going out for dinner now! Wow!"
Lynn was delighted when she heard about their dinner plan, but she knew that this was probably Sebastian's way of saying "Sorry I panicked and embarrassed you".
She hadn't seen Sebastian for years and she didn't expect him to turn out like this- vocal but calm, well, at least compared with his annoying dad and uncle, Sebastian might be the calmest, most chill 22-year-old boy from a rich family.
When Lynn woke up this morning, she knew that this was going to be a good day, because another person from their family was also returning. And she knew Sebastian would be so excited to finally see him again.
Lynn was almost singing out loud when she was on her way to fetch Sebastian- he went to one of the hotels YD owns last night, a change of environment? Or was he showing interest in the family business?
Lynn couldn't help getting excited and imagining seeing her nephew becoming the real leader of YD one day...
Suit and tie, holding a glass of wine, chatting with people politely...
"I should take him shopping sometimes, get him more suits! Oh, he looks so grown-up now..."
All of her imagination suddenly stopped the moment she opened the hotel door:
Sebastian was in the corner next to the nightstand, pretending to be a pangolin, hiding his head;
The bed looked super messy, the room smelled like alcohol...
"Have you been drinking, Se-se..." Lynn had to hold on to the wall when she stammered these words out.
Before she could make it next to him and pull him out of this room, she saw a sudden movement of the "messy bed"- "Oh wow, am I passing out? Why do I think the bed is moving..."
Lynn took another look at the bed, this time, she saw a leather ring that was hooked onto the side of the bed. She couldn't help to take another look, for another second, for another time...
The crazy silence was killing Jen- as well as the lack of air.
Before she had to start saying prayers, Lynn's curiosity beat Jen's will to live, and she lifted the blanket...
"Good morning, Lynn. Does this count as my overtime?"
Jen tried to lighten up the mood but that didn't seem to be very helpful, neither Sebastion nor Lynn were amused.
"Explanations, please?" Lynn was caught by surprise, she didn't expect Jen to be the one lying there.
The moment she realized there might be a girl in the room, she was prepared to see a drunk stranger, even a hooker, but not Jen.
"Lynn, put the blanket back on her please, she's cold and we haven't found... the key..." Sebastion stood up and wanted to grab the blanket for Jen, but he didn't want to look at her, still in that unnatural outfit.
"Lynn, before you take this the wrong way, Sebastian is here to help me." Jen cut him off and started explaining to Lynn," I had a great time last night with Sebastian, for dinner. He was very sweet and he apologized, so I thought maybe it would be a good idea for us to drink a small, small, cup of champagne. Then, I just wanted more. But he said no, so after dinner, I just went out with a couple of my friends and grabbed another drink..."
"You don't have other friends, Jen." Lynn was not buying the story- why would Sebastian say no to having a bit more fun? And Jen indeed did not have those types of friends
"Ok, so, I went to a club and got drunk, and the next thing I knew I was already here. So I called Sebastian over, using voice assistance on my phone obviously," Jen pulled on her handcuffs, showing Lynn, trying to make the story more believable,
"Then he came rescuing me, right before you showed up."
Lynn was still doubting this crazy story, but she rather believe Jen than think that these two were... wild last night.
Lynn called for help- the trustworthy people that she could count on to come and release Jen from her trouble.
"Are they going to cut open the thing and let her out? Or do you know those experienced thieves who can open locks?" Sebastian wanted to stay and help but Lynn dragged him into the lobby.
"Was she telling the truth, Sebastian?"
Lynn tried to smell him to see if he was actually drinking.
"You know... Well, I understand that you are a young man with... Needs. But this is extremely unprofessional to think about dating people from work, not to mention your own assistant. You can't even just give her money to make it go away because Jen needs to stay now, for now, you hear me?"
Lynn tried to get a reaction out of Sebastian but he was so quiet that she couldn't get any answer out of him.
But she knew that she was no longer in the mood for any family gathering today, so she left after knowing that Jen was alright.
Sebastiana went back to the room after Jen changed into a long dress. She put her hands behind her back, didn't want to show Sebastian the irritated marks, and called him to come over.
"Take the recording." She whispered.
Sebastian was confused, why would she want reminders of the mistake that happened last night?
"Take the damn thing because this is not normal, we have things to do, welcome to your first business competition trap."
