Chapter 1 - Starting from Zero!

"Pah! A shit of a bastard!" Sometimes real life is more difficult than people imagine it to be, especially in the world of anime and novels.

That is, if a person possessed no unique identity, then nothing would change, even if they had a superior system like cheating or memories of a past life.

The child, who appeared gaunt and had that anguished expression on his face, was kicked by a man standing two meters tall.

He was holding his broken sword tightly and would not let go of it even if he died there.

'Also, I am not that kid; I am just a bystander who was standing in front of the other two parties and was watching the show from the sideline.'

The boy's hair was so dark and blue that it appeared black in the moonlight, almost like crystal, but his face appeared gaunt and covered in mud.

"Kill him and bring the broken sword to me, along with his head."

The two-meter-tall man was the captain of the squadron of the noble in this city and was furious when his selected candidate was beaten by the kid who was lying on the street at the moment.

Therefore, despite the fact that he was a skilled swordsman, the boy's life was in jeopardy and his sword had broken, but Flint could tell by looking at the screen that the boy would survive because he is the main character in a particular area of the world.

'He will be saved to begin with, but for me to gain his power, I need to rescue him today and create a chance for us to leave this city alive.'

As he gazed at the town that held so many of his darkest memories, Flint considered leaving it behind and never intended to live there again.

"Hehe! This kid is nice; maybe we can take his sword and sell him to that place." Flint's gaze revealed that he understood what they meant when they mentioned "that place" and that he might be able to intervene to save him.

Not that he did not grow up there; after all, that company is beyond the reach of even the lord of this city, so it was the only place he felt comfortable messing with those guys.

'I will change this life of mine.' Mediocrity is really a disease, as a guy from the modern world who had lived a mediocre life and died in a similar manner knew how contagious this disease can be.

Yes, to him, this mediocrity was the last remaining regret of his previous life, and that is how, in the moment he was reincarnated or reborn in this world, he made his mind to be something in this world.

Flint rushed toward the Evening Palace, a place where males and females exchange deeper contact and meaning toward life.

However, that location served as both his home and his surroundings.

There, he was surrounded by stunning mothers who genuinely desired to live outside of these walls and were only waiting for someone to save them.

Nevertheless, unless they were fairytale ladies, each of them knew deep down that there would be no salvation for them once they entered that world of theirs.

"Renena-san." Flint, who entered the Evening Palace, found an outer courtesan who was currently putting on makeup on themselves. And then she smiled simply as she turned to face Flint, taking out a packet from the drawer and tossing it in his direction.

"Here, it is something I found yesterday and had a nice scent to it, so use it well and also ask Nia-nee to ask for the time she will be free."

Flint knew what Renena wanted to ask Nia-nee about and nodded, since he was at the moment going to the same place.

"You look as beautiful as ever."

Before catching the pocket and looking at the candies within it, Flint snickered and smiled as he rushed from the place, where Renena just shook her head in amusement and did not take his words that seriously.

Following that, a few hours went by before Nia—one of the most exquisite courtesans—returned to the palace and entered her chamber.

She discovered Flint lounging on the table, staring out the window as if he were daydreaming while idly lingering there.

"Little guy." A tight hug on his back and a soft sensation on his back brought Flint out of his daydreaming as he turned to look at the lady behind him with a smile.

"Nia-san, welcome back." He mumbled something that made the woman smile, and she planted a kiss on his cheeks and took a seat next to him, gazing out the window at the view he was fixated on.

"Thank you, Flint. Also, what is it that you need my help with?" Nia instantly recognized that Flint was here for a reason, as was to be expected, and she asked him about it.

As Nia remembered the boy they had met a minute earlier and nodded, Flint began to describe what he had seen in further detail and asked her to join in.

"Okay! I will get that kid out, and it's all up to you." Flint realized that Nia's position was likewise surface-level, so he could not just cause her any more problems.

He also realized that he needed to leave this city in order to save the kid, but that was also something that was necessary for him.

"There are some weapons inside that storage, so take them, given that their owner has forgotten about them for more than a few years."

Since Nia was well-known, partners occasionally left their weapons in that storage to make a lasting impression on her.

However, Nia has never had a sexual relationship with a man, which has allowed her to attend to a large number of clients over the years.

"Thanks! I will come back, just so you know." Flint had been living in this world after reincarnation for not more than 3 years, but to this time, she and this palace had been the place that had taken care of him without any reason.

For Flint, the affection and support he received were beyond his ability to return in this life. He understood that his only chance of finding true peace in this world would be to permanently remove each of them from this kind of trade, like life.

"Don't meet others; they will have a hard time parting, so I will tell them later. Also, take care of yourself, and if it really comes to life, then come back, even if it means troubling us."

As Flint was leaving, he heard Nia speaking to him and stopped for a moment before humming and leaving.

Even though Nia was aware that Flint was a kind child and would never return, even if it meant dying, she still hoped that he would learn to rely more on them.

'Yeah, I will after all; I am a bastard son, you see, Nia.'
