Chapter 2 - Wilton Aim!

"Oie! Are you thinking of staying in this place forever?" It was a dump with little to no sunlight, but it was still illuminated by what appeared to be a magic lamp or something similar.

Two boys were sitting there, one with dark brown hair and chained to the ground, and the other with sunlight shining on him from the back as he sat on top of the wall.

"I want to leave, but this place is hard to leave even if I break these chains. Anyway, what the hell are you doing here? I am sure you are not here just to mock me, right?"

The chained boy spoke with a light tone, but his voice had that certain ring to it.

At the same time, his eyes still looked alive as he looked at Flint, who held that iconic smile on his face while he planned inside his head.

"I will take you out. I am an insider here, but now I am planning to go out of this place and need a helper who is strong at swordsmanship."

The man appeared a little taken aback at Flint's remarks.

Along with that, Wilton, on the other hand, perceived something strange about Flint's appearance and felt a hint of cloudiness in the back of his mind.

"My name is Wilton. I am not sure why you are doing this, but I will still help you out for the time being. As long as you can take me out of this city, I will certainly help you out."

Wilton knew that after leaving this place, as long as he remained in this city, he would be targeted by many, so with not much choice left on his side, he decided to believe in Flint.

"Good choice!" Wilton was a little taken aback by Flint's statement that he had slashed the chain in two with little effort after leaping into the room and retrieving the sword from the bag, given that he was a trainee swordsman himself.

"You are also a trainee swordsman like me, so why the hell do you need me?" As Flint threw clothes and another sword from the backpack, a lot of weight from his back was removed when Wilton asked him.

"Ahh! I am thinking of having my own territory and being a ruler of that area, so I need a swordsman who can hone his skill for me; hence, the moment I saw your skill, I knew that I had to save you."

Wilton, who was surprised by Flint's remarks, seemed to be shaken by them and regarded Flint warily, as if he were unsure of Flint's sanity.

"I am overreaching myself! That should be the thing that you must be thinking, right?" Flint clackeld! As he looked at Wilton, who did not nod or shake at his comment, he wore his clothes and tugged the sword and its scabbard on his back.

That thought, however, was not all that difficult to surmise, and Flint did not object—after all, he was pursuing his goal, which he would eventually achieve—even if doing so meant ending his life on the way to it.

"I know that too, but you were in this position because your ambition relied on other decisions, and as for me, I will find the path to my dream through my own effort."

Flint's final saying shook the guy, as he felt the words of the guy resonate within his mind, although at the end of it, it only made him want to leave Flint's side and start making his own decision.

"So you see, I want land and wealth for me; at the same time, you want strength, right? So, why not let's do all of this as a party, where both of us can be free-spirited?"

Flint was aware that although his words would only encourage Wilton to leave his side, they would also awaken a dormant part of Wilton's heart.

For this reason, he clarified things and sparked the motivation he would need to reach his destination, but he also put forth the notion of forming a group that would aid one another in achieving their individual objectives—something that every adventurer in the world does.

"So, we are like parties, not bound by each other, but will support each other for their own goals, right?"

Wilton seemed to be rather okay! Regarding that matter, Flint was pleased to see that the man had agreed to most of his suggestions while also beginning to organize their strategy for escaping this location.

"Hey, Wilton, I want to kill that squadron leader that beat you up. Are you up for it? This time I will create a chance for you to fight him one-on-one, that is."

Flint jumped out of the wall hole, the place he used to come inside, and asked Wilton, who also jumped from the same place.

"Eh! Is that even possible?" Flint understood how difficult it would be for Wilton to kill that man on his own.

Even if he joined him and launched a surprise attack, their fight would not end well, and one of them might have to lose their lives in order to take him out.

Thus, he included strategies and schemes into his plan that he had thought of through multiple stimuli, and everything he needed was simple to locate and make.

"One-on-one is hard, but if I do some external stimulation like nerve-numbing stimulation on that idiot side, I am sure that you will be able to kill him." Flint spoke.

But Wilton felt a little weird about that smile; after all, Flint would really be able to do something like that.

Wilton was confident that he could kill that bastard for sure—not that he does not still have a lot to let go of, but their chances of being pursued will also decrease somewhat.

"Yes! I want to kill that guy, as he was the one I originally wanted to assassinate after entering that house."

Wilton revealed his actual goal to Flint, which made Flint a little happy, as he knew what kind of back story both of them had, and he also needed that guy's head for a certain reason too.

"Alright! After this, we will have a lot to do, so let's go with that." Saying that after playing every Trump card there was to play, all that was left to do was wait for that moron to fall into their trap, which was situated in the slum area, Flint and Wilton quietly left the area and entered the city.

Flint asked Wilton to hide and began to shop for a few items before calling Wilton inside the silent house.

"Hey! What did you do?" Wilton asked Flint, who only gave him a sneer-like smile and opened his mouth while speaking.

"Do you know there is a really beautiful girl in the slum area, right? So, I used that girl's real address, which she was hiding, to bait that guy."

Mendor was a scum who tends to have a tendency to rape the girl he likes and then bring those girls to a certain place to sell.

"Why would he believe you?" Wilton spoke in a frowning tone.

"Idiot, I am not the one who is telling this to him, but a secret informant who will do this job. Plus, he will also receive money from that man, so he will keep it a secret for us."

Working in that place, Flint also had a lot of connections within the city, so at the moment, he was just using one of them for a good cause, given that in a certain bandit group, that idiot head has a lot of worth.

After all, Flint was considering that since they currently needed a large sum of money to purchase goods and other necessities in order to purchase a town of their own.

"You sure are a reckless type, Huh!" Wilton spoke in a heavy tone, although his face was smiling from ear to ear.

"After all, that is what we deal about, right? Wilton."

It was from here that the first combo came to life.
